teamt

[email protected] berry
fire punch ice punch
outrage
earthquake
i know it may suck so feel free to criticize my team. with dragonite i could use dragon rush to flinch foe. earthquake to take out electric and poison etc. any suggestions to help my team is needed.blizzard can freeze and can take out dragon, ground, flying and outrage i can use then recover with persim berry.(all level 100)

[email protected] water
recover
ice beam
surf
mirror coat
milotic is one of my best. with water pulse it can confuse you then i can you ice beam to freeze you or kill a dragon, ground, flying or grass, then if my milotic is going to die i could always use recover to heal it plus my mystic water can power up hydro pump and water pulse

[email protected]
blast burn
flamethrower
earthquake
aerial ace
first of all i get a boost for blast burn and flamethrower with charcoal then earthquake could take out those fire, electric etc. then aerial ace never misses. blast burn however would be my last attack to kill you .

snorlax fatty @leftovers
rest
sleep talk
earthquake
body slam

wth rest i can heal myself and even if im sleep i can use sleep talk to use a random move with metronome i would basically take a chance to get a good move and body slam is my standard attack but dont forget i can heal myself each turn using leftovers

[email protected] bell
aura sphere
dragon pulse
extremespeed
swords dance
this is really my worst pokemon but here goes. Well shell bell lets me heal every turn swords dance can power up my physical attacks. extremespeed can let me attack first especially after i use swords dance you can die
blissey this is my newest member so im working on it i will post it by weekend any good moves/items are welcome

Sora_8920 April 2nd, 2008 2:58 AM

First of all, no 10% increase items. e.g Mystic Water, Charcoal, etcetera.

Second of all, without EVs, you just fail in competitive. Go there.

Snorlax is a step in the right direction. Go max Special Defense, my knowledge on Snorlax is sub-par from here. I know Body Slam and Crunch / Earthquake should go in thhe last two slots.

Meh. I like SD variants better...

Lucario (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Steadfast
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature (+Spe, -SpA)
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Extremespeed / Bullet Punch
- Crunch / Bullet Punch / Stone Edge. Gets strong extremely fast and owns stuff, barring Focus Sash Pokemon.

Blast Burn is basically a Fire-Type Hyper Beam, and is just... no in Competitive.

Charizard (F) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 200 HP / 160 SpD / 72 Spe / 68 SpA
Timid Nature (+Spe, -SpA)
- Fire Blast / Flamethrower
- HP [ICE / GRASS / ELECTRIC]
- Air Slash
- Focus Blast.

OR

Charizard (F) @ Salac Berry
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpA)
- Substitute
- Swords Dance
- Fire Fang / Flare Blitz
- Focus Punch. Ah. Like Blaziken and Infernape, just makes a perfect SkarmBliss counter.

Overall, too many physical sweepers, and no Physical Wall, Cleric, Rapid Spinner, and Special Sweeper.

Consider Claydol and Blissey for the Cleric and Rapid Spinner. And Claydol is also a great Physical Wall, or dual wall really, but more of a physical-varianted one.

Starmie @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 172 HP / 120 SpA / 216 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Recover.

Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 6 SpA
- Aromatherapy
- Softboiled
- Seismic Toss
- Thunder Wave / Toxic.

Claydol @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 172 HP / 20 Atk / 160 SpD / 148 Def
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spe)
- Earthquake
- Explosion / Rest
- Rapid Spin
- Gyro Ball.

Other mistakes:
Special moves on dragonite, a physical attacker
Two moves of the same type on 4 of your pokemon
Metronome is a sucky move, some people even consider it hax
We have no natures
Blast burn and friends are sucky

I'm guessing this is straight from in-game, which im afraid to say really doesnt cut it at all. I advise you read the stickies, learn how competetive battling works, and start again.

Oh yes, one thing I didn't get a chance to do this morning when I rated your team is give insight on Dragonite. I didn't get a chance to, though, because I was going to school.

Dragonite @ Leftovers
Trait: Inner Focus
EVs: 200 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spe
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpA)
- Dragon Dance
- Fire Punch
- Earthquake
- Outrage / Dragon Claw. This thing has a disadventage from Bulky Mence, as it doesn't have Intimidate capabilities. One trait it does, have, however, is being a tad bulkier. (15 base defense boost, and 20 Special Defense boost). Yache Berry could help it survive weavile's Ice Punch / Shard. I'll test it on Shoddy and see how it does. If you can, fit Roost on Bulky Nite. T-Wave also helps.

Terrible EVs. If you want to run Bulky Nite, you should adjust the set accordingly.

The others have covered the rest really. Also there is nothing wrong with special Dragonite :(

Agreed. Also, thanks Anti, for your advice on the Bulky Nite.

Azonic April 2nd, 2008 2:59 PM

Gofre, what's wrong with Special Attacks on Dragonite? It's Special Attack is 100. :/

You're not really accomplishing much with this moveset. Dragon Rush takes luck to the foe, so I wouldn't count on it actually flinching them. 75 Accuracy for just a 100 Power move isn't worth it. What you said about Earthquake though, it just isn't accurate. Dragonite has no weaknesses to Electric types or Poison type moves, you should focus on countering what you're weak too instead of just finding counters to random types. Blizzard is terrible with accuracy. I really wouldn't count on it hitting and freezing the foe in one single turn. After all, it only has 8PP maximum. Outrage is good, but I personally think that Persim Berry / Lum Berry is quite idiotic. Dragonite can just easily switch out when it's done with its Outrage. Also, your team needs EVs, good natures, etc.

Dragonite @ Leftovers
Trait: Inner Focus
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 Attack / 172 Speed / 84 HP
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw / Outrage
- Earthquake
- Thunderbolt / Fire Punch

Dragon Dance lets it Speed up, while attacking with more power to outrun potential sweeping threats and strike first. After the Speed boost Dragonite can completely rampage through the team. Dragon Claw / Outrage is self explanitory, it gains STAB and power. the other moves for coverage.

You can't have two water moves on one moveset. Its better to just spend your moveslots on moves with more coverage. Water Pulse has got to go, Hydropump is arguable, but I'd rather have Surf. Especially for a walling Pokemon like Milotic. Hypnosis would be a suggested move, if not, Mirror Coat. Mystic Water would provide a small boost to only one move, wasting a whole item on it? I don't think so. Mystic Water, Icicle Plate, and the like all provide a 20% boost to only one move. The move, in this case, is Surf. Surf has a base of 95 Power, plus STAB boost, which is 1.5. Mystic water gives a 10% boost, which is 1.1. Running calculations...

No Mystic Water: 95 x 1.5 = 150
With Mystic water: 95 x 1.5 x 1.1 = 165

15 points in power is hardly an improvement, especially if you're wasting a whole item on it. I suggest you use a better item, like Leftovers.

Milotic @ Leftovers
Trait: Marvel Scale
Nature: Bold
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Defense / 4 SDefense
- Surf
- Hypnosis
- Recover
- Icebeam

Charcoal is parallel to Mystic Water, and has been explained why not to use in the above Pokemon analysis (see Milotic). Blast Burn is a Hyperbeam variant, which means it takes two turns and traps you on the field. Its really not worth it, Blast Burn has 150 power, which means it is only a 75 Power move per turn. Charizard doesn't really need another STAB move besides Flamethrower, it is, after all, only a 90 base power move.

Charizard @ Life Orb
Trait: Blaze
Nature: Lonely
EVs: 252 Speed / 200 Attack / 56 SAttack
- Flamethrower / Overheat
- Earthquake
- Crunch
- Dragon Dance

Yow, Metronome is way too risky to be used in a battle. I suggest Earthquake or Crunch. That's about it, actually. ><;

Snorlax @ Leftovers
Trait: Thick Fat
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Attack / 84 SDefense
- Earthquake
- Body Slam / Return
- Sleep Talk
- Rest

You've got enough sweepers already. Take Lucario out from this team for a Spinner, you've got Pokemon largely weak to Stealth Rock.
---
For the last slot, you need a physical wall, not Blissey.

Anti April 2nd, 2008 4:24 PM

From experience I can tell you will Careful and 252 SDef EVs Snorlax has trouble taking a hit (and yes, max HP too). With Adamant and barely any EVs, it will only be walling Charmander (and watch for Focus Punch !!!)

With DDnite, Fire Punch is superior to Thunderbolt in many ways. fire Punch works off of the DD boost and has way better coverage against Bronzong.
