About the effort value thing...

Alright, I either missed it in the FAQ or maybe it's not there... but I'm just curious about how you know when the points are maxed out per stat.

There are people who detail builds like 252 spd/252 sptk/ 4 hp

How do you know that you've acquired that? I mean I doubt it says it anywhere in game... so I'm just curious if you need to just keep track of each Pokemon's point value and guess that way, or if there's more of a science to the whole thing...

In Sunyshore, there's a lady in the market that will give your first Pokémon a ribbon if it has 510 EVs, if that's what you mean.

Yes, what Shiny Umbreon said is correct. Also, I believe you must keep track of it. It's rather a pain, but o well...

And @ Shiny Umbreon:

Good work on all the posts! Working to become a Mod, aren't you? Well, I think your deserving of this:

*promotes to Mod* :)

lol, just poking fun :>

So after a Pokemon gets an effort Ribbon it's maxed out it's EVs?

OH I thought EVs were something that could be acquired throughout the game and that each stat just had a limit.

Well, that makes sense now... so EV training needs to begin right at level 1?

Okay... I get it now.

You gain EV points whenever you gain Experience points. It can begin whenever you want.

Well, you could do that and use an EXP. Share to get EVs until it can fight on its own.

Or if you're like me and would rather use the actual pokemon during the training, just put it in the daycare until it levels up (watch out, though--they delete moves without your permission so be careful with your egg moved pokemon)

actually that counter-thing on your pokewatch is made for keeping count of EVs
