quick ev question

am i understanding this right? That certain pokemon is beaten it gives an ev point (s) to a certain stat? so for example lets say a zubat gives 2 points to sp. attack. Now if i have beaten 2 zubats when my pokemon levels up he will recieve 4 points to sp attack?

Almost, but not quite. If you defeat Zubat, he gives you 2 EV points to special attack. EV points...Not stat points, EV points. It takes 4 EV points to amount to a stat point. Therefore, if you defeated 2 Zubats and gained 4 EV points, you would gain 1 stat point. Unfortunatly, you only see the results of EV training at higher levels. Hope I helped!

Oops! Sorry, that's not what I meant. You should start EV training as soon as possible, seeing as you can only gain around 510 EVs per Pokemon. What I meant was that you don't see the results until they're at a higher level. Example: I started EV training my Milotic for Special Defense a couple days ago. It was level 10. I probably won't notice a difference in it's stats (from EV training) until level 70 or so. Sorry about the confusion =]

I don't know why these threads keep appearing. This forum isn't for things such as EVs. You could ask in the Q&A thread in Strategies & Movesets, but it's simplier just to read the sticky guides there.
