How do you guys level up your low level pokemon?
Any tips here, cause i have a couple level 50's and i wanna run through the elite 4 with my dragon team. So far the team is level 23 glaceon, 49 torterra, 16 dratini, 1 bagon, 50 crobat, and 49 tentacruel. Thinking of getting a random level 100 from gts and running through elite 4.
|
I usually use the Elite Four xD I'll equip the Exp. Share to my low level Pokemon and run through the Elite Four. Usually a newly hatched Pokemon will be around level 30-35 once I'm finished.
|
At first I used Exp. Share. After I got a Linoone to level 60, I basically use Rare Candies, and then deposit the pokemon in the PC, which automatically adds all EVs to the Pokemon's stats.
Once the Pokemon's at about level 65+ (or 40ish, if I'm not in a Rare Candy mood), I just kill the Elite Four. At Level 90, I use the EV removing berries on all stats, and EV train it. |
I leave it in the daycare til lv.30-40
Then from there i use the Victory Road til its about 45 Then i'll just give it exp. share and let it participate in elite four battles to give it extra exp. Once it hits 50-55 it can handle itself. |
Elite Four, Turnback Cave, ,Route 225-229, Stark Mountain w/ Exp. Share.

Dude.
That's a really big pear. |
Well, if you use Rare Candies, a Pokemon doesn't gain the EVs from the levels it gained from the Rare Candies. But when depositing in the PC, the PC doesn't store the ACTUAL stats, but merely the IVs and EVs. When withdrawn, the stats are recalculated from the IVs and EVs, and thus, it's EV-loss from rarecandying is gone.

...that pear is just disturbing.
Yea i used to use rare candies after EV training a lot...but it's more fun to battle with em, even if it takes much longer. |

and maybe it's just me...but I'm not used to seeing flying fruit with a mouth and surrounded by an angelic aura.
but let's stay on topic here lol Rare candies kinda ruin the fun of training. |

And sometimes I'm just lazy. |

I've got to run and work out every day, I'll have driving school, normal school, and probably a job too. Bring on the rare candies! lol |
Same way I always have--bait and switch until the Pokemon in question is powerful enough to fend for itself.
|
if its ev trained i battle pokemon 5 lvs higher than it
if its weak with no attacks(aka magikarp, beldum, etc) I use daycare |
If I didn't have exp. share I would just do this. Use my weak pokemon first in the battle against the an elite four then switch to a stronger pokemon and defeat the pokemon and the low level on will get some exp.
|
I just have it hold an EXP Share, run it through the E4 a bunch of times, and then once it can handle the E4 itself I give it a Lucky Egg and watch its experience grow. :p
Of course, I finish EV training it before I start doing all of this. |
I level up my pokemon through defeating other pokemon and gain exp. points.
But seriously, go through the Elite 4 using an exp. share. |
I generally use the Exp. Share, or I withdraw a similarly-levelled team from the PC and play through the entire game again xD as in, follow the exact path I did from the beginning, minus the gym leaders. The Vs. Seeker is pretty useful for this.

or give it lucky egg, make it your lead pokemon and switch it before the foe attacks |
Equip Exp share, send out 1st and bait, then switch to one of your best pokemon. kick ass... rinse and repeat with every pokemon they send out, and it will level up in no time.

I use the exp.share and battle elite four and ace trainers by resort area(vs. seeker).
|
When i first had a Pokemon I give it the exp.share and go train it for EVs. After it is EV trained I will either just leave it as I don't want to use it or battle against the Elite Four to level it fast.
|
EXP. SHARE & Pokemon league.
Or put it t the front of your party and withdraw. |
I remember that I used Exp. Share and when the low level poke'mon go to level 45 or level 60, I just train them in the elite four tell there at level 100.
|
if i want to EV train them, i do that against pokemon that mine can easily beat, then i either fight the Elite 4 with Exp. Share to get them to 100 (did that with my Movie Darkrai), or i use rare candies to got them there if i have enough.
sometimes i just use lots of rare candies (duplicating cheat from emerald and send over) to get them to 100 and give them proteins and other ones. |
Two things:
I go somewhere where the wild pokemon are about 5 levels above mine (the one that needs training) Or... For example, if I had a pikachu (level 50) and a chimchar (level 5), then I would go somewhere with a lot of wild water pokemon that are about level 60, then I set chimchar as my first pokemon. When I find a pokemon to fight, my chimchar will appear, and I immediately switch it out with pikachu, who can easiy beat the water pokemon. They split the exp. 50/50 and chimchar levels up a few levels at a time! THE SECOND WAY IS BETTER :D |
smahs wild pokemon while they're low. once you get atleast two lvl 55+ pokemon, use the pokemon league. or migrate a lvl 100 and smash them by 1HKO each pokemon.
|
I do the switch out strategy only because I prefer EV training at the same time. If I use exp share, I usually forget about it and receive unwanted EVs.
|
When i have a low Lv. pokemon. I usually fly to the Fight Area and battle the three girls on the route above. They have high Level; Skarmory,Linoone,2 Slowbro,Swellow,Farfetch'd. Good place to train. Once on lv.40.Than i take on the elite four.
