Caves

How much do you like walking around in the caves and mountains?

Motsuko Live April 6th, 2008 8:48 AM

I don't mind mountians (outside) but I hate it inside caves...It slows you down, especially when you;re blazing through on your Bike and you run into a rock or something. Also, it seems that the only time I never have enough Super Repels is in caves ¬_¬

Combee April 6th, 2008 8:52 AM

I find them really annoying. I've bought like 58 Max repels to get through them. Hehe. No wonder I have hardly any coins left.... 0_o

UnreaLegendz April 6th, 2008 1:20 PM

Yeah.. you also need to many HMs to get through caves like Mt. Coronet. Going back and getting Pokemon for Defog, Rock Climb, AND Waterfall is really a pain.

CrystalFlow April 6th, 2008 3:35 PM

If i have max repels i like to be inside the caves.

kickerbox April 6th, 2008 3:38 PM

i hated caves in red version because once you taught flash it was a horrible move and they had a bunch of zubats

IgnorantUser April 6th, 2008 3:53 PM

Ugh, caves. Why did they create caves anyway? Does the pokemon world really have so many tunnels/underground passages? Why couldn't they just build the road OVER the mountains?

I'm sure I wouldn't hate caves so much if there just weren't so damn many of them. And like UnreaLegendz said, it takes way too many HMs to get through them.

Bulbasaurs Trainer April 6th, 2008 3:54 PM

i hate it alot lol. its boring to walk arond in caves and i hate when pokemon appeaer

Felice April 6th, 2008 4:07 PM

I think they are kind of cool you get to bring up your pokemons lv when they are low

Heather April 6th, 2008 5:40 PM

I kinda like walking through caves it just seems as though more pokemon pop up in caves. It get really annoying.

bobandbill April 7th, 2008 3:02 AM

It's an interesting 'challenge' for me, although sometimes the amount of wild Pokemon that have appeared?

Any 'favourite' caves? I quite licked the Ice Path one in GSC. Not to mention that you couldn't encounter anohter Zubat or Swinub while on the ice.

Ash&pikachuarethebest April 7th, 2008 3:18 AM

I think caves are ok sometimes i hate them but most of the time i like them because i like to find new and rare pokemon in them. But i do agree you need to many HMs to get through them.

also GSC, but then the one in which you could find Ash and with the Larvitars outside

Dark Jay April 7th, 2008 5:14 AM

I don't like them, but I'm not exactly going to go inside one and start screaming because I can't get through or don't have a HM.

I take escape ropes, my HM Pokemon and Max Repels all the time.

I prefer grass rather than caves. You always seem to find Rock Pokemon, and they're usually a Geodude or something.

Blazing_Yoshi April 8th, 2008 8:43 PM

Geez, everytime you go into a cave, it gets really irritating, especially if you have to waste a moveslot on Flash. And the scattered rocks and puzzles really don't help. In fact, going through Mt. Coronet should be hell.....

CartoonJunkie April 9th, 2008 8:41 AM

Usually when I run into a cave I get irritated. I always make sure I have an escape rope so I can get out of it quickly if I have to and a ton of max repels.

They are good for leveling up though since you can't walk two steps without running into a pokemon.

shiny_Riolu April 9th, 2008 9:37 AM

5 because u get to caught new and good pokemon!

:/ but depends how big it is?

. April 9th, 2008 5:06 PM

Caves are great places to train Pokemon. I love them.

HalcyonXIII April 9th, 2008 8:43 PM

The various trials in the cave areas don't bother me much, and it's more exciting if you find a Shiny Pokémon there as you can't use the Poké Radar in any caves, which motivates me to go through them more ^^

On the subject of Shinies and caves.. Years ago I encountered a wild Shiny Hariyama in Ruby's Victory Road, but it used Whirlwind on me before I could catch it ;__;
I dread going through that particular cave now...

But I have to admit, the frequent battles can be annoying somewhat. Sometimes you can't go two steps before another battle initiates @[email protected]
I guess using an Intimidater/Stencher/Cleanse Tag can help with that.

hothead April 10th, 2008 2:52 AM

i hate cave they are usless and the first thing i buy when i go into a cave is like 99 max repels so i can get in and out quick unless im traing right next to the exit at victory road

ErickaVolt April 10th, 2008 3:01 AM

I like mountains. Especially the Hiker's theme. IN caves it's a bit challenging ..... but it needs more time! T_T

Storm-DC April 10th, 2008 3:34 AM

But: would you like the pokemon games better without the caves?

hothead April 10th, 2008 3:38 AM

i actually did that in Blue. You're whole screen was then really dark, but when you would make a lamp shine on the gameboy a certain way, you would see just about enough the get through Mt Moon.

Cyberboy April 10th, 2008 4:21 AM

Caves are in general annoying when you 1st go through them, especially in the old games where you had to use flash or couldn't see anything, but once you've been through them once there not so bad. They're a great place to train, and I dont think the pokemon games would be the same without them.

Siimo April 10th, 2008 5:26 AM

I like running around the top of the moutains but I HATE caves!

Peanutz April 12th, 2008 8:55 AM

I like exploring on mountains, but I absolutely HATE caves! It gets really annoying when you go through them.

Cruelty And The Beast April 12th, 2008 9:26 AM

I liked Mount Moon, simply because it was before you had to worry about fiddling around with HMs.
As well as that when you were there, playing Pokemon for the first time, it still had that kind of new, magical feel about it-in each new place you visited-if anyone else got that?

yup, that was the best thing about pokemon. a whole world to explore, adventures that awaited you. it was pretty cool the first time

Espeon Master April 12th, 2008 11:23 AM

I love them and I hate them. I love the fact you can usually catch a bunch of new pokemon in caves and that they are great for training, but I hate it when caves are long and require a bunch of Tms to get through.

No way. It's unrealistic to think of a world without any caves or mountains anywhere. The Pokemon games have always been good with making many different environments for all the different species. I can't see Pokemon like Zubat or Geodude not living in a cave.

Skaterzpenguin April 12th, 2008 2:59 PM

I voted a 3/5... I like certain events in the caves, but it gets annoying seeing zubats & golbats everywhere in caves. lol

Hadim Sinan Pasha April 12th, 2008 7:48 PM

It's so annoying. Only cave I like is victory road because of the Lapras which after 50 Golbat's I still haven't come across. It's meant to be 5%.

.:The_Lost_Realm:. April 12th, 2008 9:32 PM

All caves are alright for me except:

Turn Back Cave: A particular room annoys me.
Wayward Cave: You need a map to explore this properly.
Stark Mountain: At 1st visit.
All caves: If I have no stock of repels.

kazuya. April 13th, 2008 8:37 AM

Why there's no a scale of 0? lol

Seriously I hate caves... It feels like forever finding the way out... (>_<)

"Eww go away, wild Geodudes and Zubats..." (Runs out of repels)

Arrmegedden April 13th, 2008 4:42 PM

Caves can be anoying if there big. big ones like stark mountain are a pain in the @$$ but are worth going through. but the cave that you need to go through
to get to flaroma town are okey.
