Okay, so now's the time to debate. From the looks, a majority of the people are approving the dropping of the Latis to OU, as long as Soul Dew isn't used (Yeah, ya cheatin noobs *shot*). The question is this: WHEN are we going to allow it in OUs?

Well this Thursday (maybe Friday or the weekend, actually who knows the date, maybe earlier), on PC's shoddybattle server, I will be hosting the [email protected] tournament. So I would assume we would finalize the decision after the tournament.

Though we don't really need a tournament to make up our minds, but I feel it would be nice to still have the tournament anyway. So I'm not exactly sure when to move it down, but I would think after the tournament.

Arcknight316 May 5th, 2008 3:47 PM

Yes, yes, I know that the Lati's have surefire counters, but with a few CM's, they're unstoppable, even if it's NVE. Even worse, what if they have a Sub up as you come in? Just like CMKou, except that they have a great recovery move (AND better defenses), further boosting them up.

What? A PC Shoddybattle server? That exists?

Supreme Dirt May 5th, 2008 3:51 PM

Yep. PC has a shoddy server.

I say we drop it to OU after said tourney.

What about for those of us without shoddy? How do we get to test [email protected]?

Yes, this question was bugging me too.
Perhaps us non-shoddy users could have our own tourney.

ABYAY May 5th, 2008 4:01 PM

Well, there are two surefire counters mentioned against the Latis; Weavile (outspeeds, powerful Dark/Ice combination), and Tyranitar (Specially defensive can prove extremely effective, and if you go a Jolly DD set, well...time for fun if you live, but I'm unsure of the odds.) However, those two things are over-centrilization...I think...Despite the fact that nearly everyone either uses Weavile or T-Tar (I must be one of the few to rarely use one of the two -_-

Yes, it was established two days ago. Check the sticky for details. :)

Well the reason it was decided to be held on the server was so players didn't have to worry about getting a competitive [email protected] by the tourny. So those that don't even have a competitive Lati could easily participate. Not everyone has one, and frankly not many due to the fact it has been banned for such a long period of time.

Well your free to ask Blueberry about a wifi one, we just thought it would be better and faster to test on our own Shoddy server, plus it's already been given permission. So... yeah.

Arcknight316 May 5th, 2008 4:11 PM

OK, 2 things to say:

1. Yeah, I checked the 1337 thread thing and found that out like a split second before. Oh well, I've joined.

2. If there's gonna be a testing tourney, I wanna be in!

Hopefully the Lati's will get moved down. :P

Recover/CM/Sub/.Dragon Pulse ? Thats not sweeping anything, Steels, T-Tar, Snorlax etc.

Thats my point, which ever move you drop, its walled easily.

Drop Recover, et viola. Better CMKou.

Also why are we discussing the two as if they're one Pokemon? Maybe one of them is broken and the other isn't.

Cloud_85 May 5th, 2008 4:27 PM

Drop Recover? That won't be nice to a CM poke. Well I'm thinking on another things to enter to a tourny, but I'll check the battles anyways

Yes, that's what I was thinking as well.

Divine~Deoxys May 6th, 2008 12:52 PM

Your right, we shouldn't discuss them as 1 poke, but there isn't a stronger one, they're made for different purposes.

shedinjask May 7th, 2008 1:03 PM

If they're made for different purposes how do you know one isn't stronger? Maybe OU can handle a powerful sweeper like Latios but not a bulky one like Latias.

And plenty of CMers get away with no Recover. Raikou? Did everyone forget him?

Yeah, but things like Weavile,T-tar and anything that can learn a strong physical Dark, Ghost or Bug move, or Dragon Claw, can handle Latias as well, so it could be a stronger sweeper as it is bulkier, but that much better than Latios that it's uber? No.

Anti May 8th, 2008 9:42 AM

I wish Tyranitar and Weavile luck switching in - they're going to need it. If they can get in, they're a pain, just don't expect them to survive Draco Meteor (especially Weavile) so well.

Divine~Deoxys May 8th, 2008 12:45 PM

Hmmm...forgot about Draco Meteor. Dusknoir coulod switch in on them with its high physcial AND special defenses (although it wouldn't be able to hurt them that much unless it W-o-Wd them)

Yeah, let's forget Dusknoir's medicore HP.It can't take repeated Draco Meteors and Will-O-Wisping the [email protected] isn't hurting anytime soon.

ABYAY May 8th, 2008 1:40 PM

The only things that can come in on two repeated Draco Meteors and live are Bronzong, Blissey, Snorlax (potentially) Sandstorm Cradily, and maybe a specially EV'd Metagross. That's all I can think of on the spot.

That's why I said Dusknoir can't take repeated Draco Meteors so it can't counter the [email protected] /handle them.

Okay, yeah, forgot the hp on Dusknoir. But yeah, if you got a +sp.def natured 252sp.def EV'd Metagross that would survive.

ABYAY May 9th, 2008 12:01 PM

No Metagross is ever EV'd like that though.

And Dark Azelf, curse you and your widespread knowledge of nearly everything in the pokeworld! *shakes fist*

Mcguinness3 May 9th, 2008 12:06 PM

Hmm nice must of took you awhile to figure that out and write it down
