interesting pokemon gold question?

Which half of pokemon gold did u guys find to be more fun to play with? I like the kanto half a lot better than the johto half....what about u guys?

That game was just all around amazing. I have played the game all the way through about 30 times. I like both parts a lot, but my choice is Kanto, I find the differences between the first time you visit Kanto and the second time you visit Kanto very interesting. I desperately hope they make a game one day based on pokemon g/s/c with a different story line and all the new pokemon.

It was definently an amazing game, I loved playing it.
Infact I think this topic should be stickied.
Why? Because a lot of people would want to reply to this question.
Nice thinking!

Anyways, on to the question...
I liked playing the Kanto half.
I think Crystal is the best out of all of them because it has 16 gyms.
Pretty fun.

That would be incredible. God I wish they would do that. And they could add on remixed Kanto from FireRed and LeafGreen onto the end to make it just like g/s/c.

On topic.....I liked the Johto half better because it was the first time I ever played pokemon and now I get so nostalgic when I think about the game.

I prefer the Johto half because there was a lot of running around, but it could of had more sea routes and quests. I liked the Dragon's Den and the Goldenrod Radio Tower.

I really liked johto, after goldenrod (well i loved goldenrod); lake of rage was one of my favorite hang outs, and the whirlpool islands (still my all time favorite place in a pokemon game, so complex, so 3 hours and 35 minutes looking for lugia.

I just loved the cave systems in Johto, that they all interconnected

You may as well involve Silver and Crystal at that — they're no different in regards to where you can go.

Joto is the best region in my opinion, has more trees. :P
They did make Kanto good in G/S/C though, no doubting that...

The game was pretty much amazing althrough the whole game.

StarryNight May 15th, 2008 6:29 PM

I love the fact that it has both parts period. I wish the others games had done it.

Starky-08 May 18th, 2008 3:05 AM

Kanto Deffinately!!!!! You can go back and fight Brock and Misty and the others :)

For me, obviously Kanto. Johto's Leaders and People weren't as challenging as in Kanto. And also, no one can forget about Viridian's Trainer House.

Specially that, Red's waiting for you on Mt. Silver after defeating 16 leaders, and it was worth it.

Kanto, overall!

Yeah, the challenge level was a lot higher. The Viridian Trainer's house was where you fought Typholosion, Meganium, and Feraligatr right?

And Red! It's so hard to actually et to the top of Mt. Silver without getting defeated, and then when you get ther you have to fight Pikachu, Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur, Snorlax, and Espeon at like levels 75-80.

All around G/S/C were great games because you basically had two great games in one. That's why they need tp make a remake of this epic classic.

And by making the GSC Remakes, Nintendo and Game Freak would be guaranteed success in the future. And I still remember their levels:

Pika 81, Lax 75, Esp 73, The three Starters 77!

I loved the additional older lands because at first I never even knew you could get there! :embarrass So it was a big suprise to me! But it was great. But my favorite place was the landscape made for Gold/Silver. Not only was it fresh and new it was also more planned out and the paths were more exciting :D

Johto wins my vote. Its my favorite region. Kanto is nice, but it's a modern place and everything I loved about most of Kanto was eliminated in GSC. Johto had backstory, looked nicer, had landscape that was unmatched, the PokeGear trainers are all Johtonan, Bill is from Johto, Prof. Elm, Red Gyarados, some of the most impressive Cities like Goldenrod, Ecruteak, Olivine, and Azalea. Not to mention that the region was notorious for its Legends and lore as well as being home to my favorite cities and pokeballs (Olivine and the Fast Ball). Johto will always have a place in my heart and it makes me mad that they havent made a remake or follow-up yet! Kanto in Gen. II just lost its charm, the museum is closed, there is no Cinnabar left, no Unknoen Dungeon/Cerulean Cave; the Seafoam Islands are just a spit and Celadon closed its Hotel and the Diner isnt open. Plus its not Kanto with out Team Rocket causing havoc.

i stay in kanto. its the best place EvA!
