And if someone does happen to reach me... Well, they'll just have to wait till I get back to Florida. >D

But yeah, thanks... and oh thats my favorite crystal, fits well if I do say so myself. ;P

Something I kinda want to bring to light... The thing with the Extreme Gym (Wifi) is the other challengers can't view the gym leaders team and thus kept secret. With shoddy, someone can easily spectate an official match and learn the gym leader's team and such, scout, and have an advantage when game time comes around.

How do we deal with such, moderate no scouting in the official gym battles, maybe please leave when someone enters? Or just let it fly and make us deal with making various teams for our gyms? Just something I've been thinking about lately...

I'll be waiting to battle your team just for fun. >=) You can kick people yourself,Beachboy. You have the power to do so on PC's server.
EDIT:It would actually be too hasty to just kick people because they accidentally watch. You must also celebrate my Shoddy battle record with me too,or else! >:)

Super Smash Kid May 18th, 2008 7:03 PM

Aw thats no fun :( , for the gym leader i mean :D

Golden Shaymin May 19th, 2008 12:05 AM

well i'm pretty sure we can but the badges would have no meaning (for us gym leaders) like we should be able to collect them to show your skill for yourself as a gym leader but you wouldnt be able to claim a new spot or rank.

Super Smash Kid May 19th, 2008 5:41 AM

No gym leaders can't. I wrote the rules I know if gym leaders can fight other gym leaders. And they can't

Mike Ukiuki May 19th, 2008 7:47 AM

Wait we can't battle other gym leaders? Or just not on shoddy.

I know we don't get there badge but can we do test battle with are gym teams?

Valarauca May 19th, 2008 7:51 AM

So is garchomp legal or not?

ABYAY May 19th, 2008 12:11 PM

you can't battle other gym leaders for their badges, but you can battle other gym leaders, even with their teams.

For now, Garchomp is legal, but I'm debating a change over it. I've gotten mixed responses over its use, and there's no clear-cut matches.

Also, Beachboy, there is sadly, no remedy for the "scouting a team" thing, but you can always switch up your team a little.

. May 19th, 2008 2:24 PM

That sucks we can't battle other leaders...Oh well.

Golden Shaymin May 19th, 2008 3:04 PM

o well

also ive got bkzasazin(shoddy name) as the steel gym fill in while i'm gone (10-11 days)

Unfortunately, yeah.

Well... just to note, any fool that attempts to watch my official battles will be kicked. :D

Also, I agree we shouldn't be battling each other for our badges, only just fun or to help each other improve our teams, so yeah, no badges for leaders/Elite Four seems good to me.

Super Smash Kid May 20th, 2008 5:04 AM

But if you are a EGL member from the regular thread, and not one here than u can go and battle for a badge here. And if u are ot a gym leader over there than u can go and battle

Mike Ukiuki May 20th, 2008 5:05 AM

Good I just want to be able to test are gym teams.

Super Smash Kid May 20th, 2008 5:09 AM

yeah mike u can battle for a badge here cuz your not a leader here.

bkzasazin May 20th, 2008 6:51 AM

As im sure Charmandertoy2 has told mentioned for the next week or so ill be the STEEL gym leader so if anyone wants to battle PM me either on here or on shoddy...im on most of the time since i got introuble in school..only problem is im taking my GED tomorrow and thursday from 4pm-til bout 6pm so i wont be on from those times

ABYAY May 20th, 2008 12:09 PM

I'll mention that you're subbing for him bk.

Gym leaders can fight other gym leaders and their teams, but not for a badge or anything to be placed. Sure, you could do a "off of PC" badge collection if you want.

For now, I got a few things to fix. Arch, I added you finally to the list. Sorry for the delay.

Lalapizzame May 20th, 2008 2:35 PM

If we battled one of the Gym leaders before, are we allowed to watch their next gym battle?Since, what's the point in kicking someone for watching they already battled battle someone else?

Syaoran May 20th, 2008 3:36 PM

I don't understand what's the big deal about knowing the teams.. eventually if the person loses he will battle the gym leader again and will know his team from their first battle. There's no point in disallowing spectators.

There is a point to it. It's not battling and learning the team, it's spectating another battle that you aren't in and learning the team for the upcoming first battle.

Say...
- I'm battling a person whom beat the first three and doesn't know my team.

- I'm battling a person whom beat the first three and does know my team from watching my battles with other people, not him/her.

No surprise factor the first go around is a disadvantage. Such as, Salamence, if you know the set... You know how to play it correctly. At the same time, you don't know the opponent's team. While they know what's coming, easier to predict and play.

There's really nothing we can do about it and I'm not attempting to sound like I'm in a whine type mood here, but the first go around knowing the gym leader's team just isn't right in my eyes. Meh...

Gym leaders and the Elite Four are like a school test. Wouldn't you do better on the test if you knew what the questions were the first time around? (Some tests you can retake *shot*) Knowing the team the second or extra times around is okay, just the first clash is iffy.

I know what it feels like for people to know your team, basically they know everything about it. You're at a disadvantage when you don't know your opponent's team while they know yours.

It doesn't really play a huge role, but it does play a factor. So... yeah. Unfortunately, we can't really do anything about it, but you can't say there's no point to it.

Syaoran May 20th, 2008 5:24 PM

That 'school' test doesn't mean anything if you can take it how many times you like.. no one is counting the wins/losses - eventually what matters is if you got the badge or not. It's not like you need to win a streak of 8 gym leaders to get to the E4. Basically, the surprise factor is moot because this isn't a tourney.

What I meant by the test is Gym leaders/Elite Four are here to 'test' a person's skill, they get a badge if they defeat them showing they had the skill/level of play to beat them.

Well... we can't do anything about it, so yeah, your right, but knowing the team before you two ever play isn't really a being a tough test really. And it matters in more of the Elite Four as you have to win streak against them, but yes they get to do it all over again. Look, I never said I disagree with you Sya, I said there is a point to it, as we're are testing them better, if they don't know what's coming first go around. We aren't counting wins/losses, correct, but at least giving them a true test first clash seems fit for an "Extreme Gym." The wifi version even has a rule about not leaking team information, so this is where that's coming from. You have to admit a battle is easier if you know what the opponent's team is. I know where your coming from, but if we're letting them see what's coming before they taste it, it's not really a true test of them. We can't do anything about it, so poo-ha, end of story so this discussion doesn't really matter anyway. XD

Anyway, off of that, I'm heading down to Florida in the next two days. :D So, I'll be back on the server running strong soon.

Grand...

I wish Blueberry was on the Shoddy 24/7/52 so he could kick people out of the stands of our matches... Which is of course is unrealistic, I am sure he would like to kick people out of out of our matches as he is a Shoddy EGL Gym Leader...

A Loc BK May 20th, 2008 11:03 PM

If you try to take over a gym and you succeed do you have to use their same type?
example
I take over a Fire Gym, can i change it to ghost?
