Before you post...

Before you make a post complaining about a slow computer, try and run one (or both) of the following programs to get rid of spyware/adware.

Ad-aware
Spybot - Search & Destroy

And after you download them, make sure to update, otherwise you may be looking for month old stuff.

And also, remember that Google is your friend!

If those don't help you out, then go ahead and post a thread! ^^

*has no antivirus* >_>;;

But Ad-aware and Spybot are about the same, though I've heard that Spybot can pick up stuff that Ad-aware doesn't. >.o

mmmm, sounds interesting, were always doing sweeps to see if anything ba is on the computer

Ad-Aware is better in my opinion, if you pick the in-depth scanning options. Mind you, it takes a long time when it scans inside archives. Spybot has a more user friendly interface... it also has the Immunise function which helps prevent your browser from getting hijacked in the first place.

I actually think Ad-aware is more user-friendly. o_O;

And it looks purdier IMO, so meh. Whatever it doesn't pick up isn't much, so I'm not gonna worry about it.

Spybot picks up some things Ad-aware can't and Ad-aware picks up things Spybot can't get so you should want them both. There is also a Macafee(sp) spyware removal software, but you need to pay. The good thing is that Macafee's thing catches spyware before it goes unto your computer which I think is really cool.

Yeah I was using only Ad Aware for the longest time, then I got Spybot and right after doing an Ad Aware scan which found like 4 files, I did a Spybot scan for the first time and it found like 50 that Adaware never got (and I forgot to update Spybot before scanning too). x.X Best to have both of them in my opinion. The more the merrier...well not the actual ad/spyware, I mean the removal programs ^.^;;
