Has Anyone Ever Noticed This Before?

http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Volt_Tackle_%28move%29

scroll down to where it says "learnset", notice how it says the electabuzz family can also learn volt tackle, not only the pikachu family o.0

i wonder how to get it, or how its possible to get it, since the only known way is with light ball

Mukkamoto May 25th, 2008 1:13 PM

hmm, very interesting, but how would electabuzz learn volt tackle. another puzzle

World King May 25th, 2008 1:20 PM

In the future, they'll hold a Nintendo Event which will giveaway a Volt-Tackling Elekid with the Electrizer.

...well, that's the most logical solution I can find.

True Justice May 25th, 2008 1:20 PM

Someones gotta figure out how to get a volt tackling electabuzz. Perhaps a new egg event elekid capable of learning it.

yea thats the most logicall reason i can get aswell, perhaps even from a future PBR

okay that sounds stupid lol

El Gofre May 25th, 2008 1:23 PM

It's an error. Bulbapedia cannot predict future events and I'm sure that standard mixvire would be loving this if it had access. Bulbapedia arent the most reliable source for dex entires in my experience.

Peanutassailant May 25th, 2008 1:26 PM

okay, i have figured out a way to test if this is true.

i have a electivire a elekid AND a electabuzz, i could use a AR (not hard at all to get hold of one, could probably get my hands on one tommorow infact) and add a code to make volt tackle a TM.

if the electa's can learn it, then we know the code really exists, if they cant learn it, it casts some doubt over if its possible or not.

also then again, previous gens you could get surfing and flying pikachus from events, so you never know what might happen

Well, we are not saying that it is a future event (And neither is Bulbapedia). We are making a prediction.

I have a theory. Nintendo 64 had PKMN Stadium 1 & 2, GC had Pokemon colluseum & Gale of darkness. So i think wii will have a 2nd pkmn game and on tht it will give you an elekid with volt tackle

dragonarche May 26th, 2008 1:23 AM

yeah..
i knew that
my frend says you have to breed it with a pickachu that kows voltackle
and give the light ball to the electabuzz

Aquilae May 26th, 2008 1:25 AM

Electabuzz/Elekid/Electivire cannot learn Volt Tackle. Period.

Bulbapedia isn't the most reliable source, and you should double check with others such as Serebii and Smogon.

Lt. Silver May 26th, 2008 1:27 AM

Its says that its in the games coding that electabuzz can learn volt tackle.
Thats like it was in Yellow versions coding for pikachu to learn surf

Peanutassailant May 26th, 2008 1:35 AM

okay i got the AR, im gunna test this out myself (volt tackle TM code, but without the "can learn any move" code)

Gold Tom May 26th, 2008 1:40 AM

Didja test it yet? If it works, I'm going to teach my future Electivire Volt Tackle.

EDIT

Erm, did you read it in detail?

O-M-F-G

it worked, however i got a suprise too. MACHAMP CAN ALSO LEARN VOLT TACKLE O.O!!!!!!!

i need to take a picture of this

*gets ready to edit post here*

EDIT:

okay i took the photos, here they are:

i looked to see if electa's could learn it:

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q172/cjbeckwith/volt1.jpg

yes they can, the code really exists!!!!!

but look, it says machamp can also learn it, so it did:

Toblerone May 26th, 2008 2:01 AM

Nice!! Awesome, might have to do that myself :).. Fancy Machamp learning Volt Tackle??? Bit crazy in the gaming, but it's true, then.

True Justice May 26th, 2008 2:06 AM

That's some crazy stuff there. You should also submit to bulbapedia that machamp can learn it. Machamp + Volt tackle = ? (wierd)

Peanutassailant May 26th, 2008 2:13 AM

lol i will do :P

i am going to try to get a machop to see if all the mach's can learn VT

Gold Tom May 26th, 2008 2:18 AM

Suh-weet! But, how to convince my Elekid that Volt Tackle should be learnt?(without cheating)

Peanutassailant May 26th, 2008 2:19 AM

i dont think it is possible, i think its most likely going to be a future event, or wii game.

at least i have proven that the code really exists, and that it is possible, and bulbapedia was not incorrect like some people thought

EDIT: WOW... machop inherited volt tackle as a egg move.

if anyone wants, i can send you VT machops :)

EDIT2: lol it seems someone has already changed the bulbapedia article :P

someone should edit it so that all machops family can learn it

True Justice May 26th, 2008 2:50 AM

Wow, I guess Bulbapedia adapts quickly to news. I wonder if there are any other pokemon capable of learning it.

Edit: Did you say egg move? So breeding a Male VT Machamp with a Female Machamp gives you a VT Machop?

Peanutassailant May 26th, 2008 2:56 AM

i dont know, but i know how to find out.

EDIT: OMFGOMFGOMFGOMFGOMFG

this adds to mixape, infernape can learn volt tackle aswell! =O!!!!!!!

*goes to take photo again*

EDIT: here are the photos:

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q172/cjbeckwith/volt3.jpg

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q172/cjbeckwith/volt4.jpg

this means that the code exists within the game for infernape to learn volt tackle

True Justice May 26th, 2008 3:04 AM

Ahh man, my bro's starter was Infernape. Now he's gonna do anything to try and teach it VT and kill me with it. But why would GF have these pokemon capable of learning VT while others are unable to? I mean I could see Electabuzz having it but Machamp and Infernape? that's pretty random

Peanutassailant May 26th, 2008 3:07 AM

the only explanation i have right now, is the possibility of related egg groups (for example, both pikachu and infernape are ground/something else egg group types.

that or its related to future events, i mean flying and surfing pikachu was pretty random wasnt it?

Gold Tom May 26th, 2008 3:08 AM

Awesome! Any chance it can be bred onto a Chimchar p'raps?
