OK that's just stupid
OK, I'm playing through Leaf Green. One of the members of my team is my Dugtrio. great! it's ability is Sand Veil! Fantastic!
So I'm going through Victory road and I find the Sanstorm TM. Woot! My Dugtrio will be stealthy! DUGTRIO CAN'T LEARN SANDSTORM. ....and Snorlax can. |
He can in D/P check serebii
|
Lol, I can't believe Dugtrio can't learn Sandstorm in 3rd gen, instead, it can learn... Sunny Day?! What's the point of that! Is it trying to be Solarbeam bait? T_T
|
Well that is dumb that it can't learn sandstorm, since sand is a kind of ground, I guess. But it does make sense that it can learn sunny day. After all, ground pokemon are weak against water, so they would want the ground dry.
|
Wow...And I thought Shoddy was fail because Snorlax could learn Whirlwind :D
Dugtrio learns it in fourth gen though. But you're right, that's just stupid. |

Woooooooooow. Wow. That's great. That is just fantastic. What the heck. Makes no sense at all. I wanna rofl at this. |
I wouldn't be nearly as beligerent if they didn't give it EFFING SAND VEIL.
|
Wow.............. crazy thing.
|
Punch Dugtrio and Nintendo in the face and then we'll see what happens
|
That's wrong. That's like not letting Pikachu the ability to use Quick Attack.

This move has been around since Gen II. Why has it been all the way to Gen. IV to fix it? WHY didn't they look and see if Dugtrio was packing Sandstorm before they gave it SAND VEIL for goodness sakes!
|
That's so stupid and crazy i think snorlax should NOT learn it and let other ground type's learn it.
|
I think Nintendo had an off day when they were programming Dugtrio. There's no other explination.

I guess you are right. After all, grass is super effective against ground, and that is exactly what SolarBeam is.....So why, its a three headed bait |
That's just the thing you want to find out when you've raised your Dugtrio, waiting for Sandstorm all the time!
|
you know, you COULD just have another Pokemon use Sandstorm then switch to Dugtrio o_O
|
kitsune still its not the same. Nintendo had te 3rd gen as a phail gen. It had no connection to any other gen and it still has no connections. Its a phail gen thats why. But sandstorm and sand vail is a pretty good combo. There are some other moves that dont make sence.
|
What? Dugtrio can't learn Sandstorm? That's ridiculous!
I was sure that he could :( |
Dudes... This is by far the most funniest thang i've ever heard... lol cant even show how im laughing my heads off here...
Dugtrio, a ground pokemon... cant learn Sandstorm, a ground type move... How is that possible? Are ya sure... holy crap, this is stupid!! Dudes! Grab ya pitchforks and shotguns coz we're headin to nintendo's hq!!! |
Only in 3rd gen fade so calm down. Well save those for when pokemon gone down the drain with leaf shaped pokemon. And ontopic nintendo acually created fire red leaf green on a whim so they really didnt care who learned it.

On-topic...poor Dugtrio. Left to die in the sunlight. |
Such a fact would be considered quite silly. Dugtrio has no connections with the sun or light energy at all, yet it can learn Sunny Day. Dugtrio has connections with the sand as it lives in burrows underground and could easily twist the earth for a sandstorm. I must state that Dugtrio receives no great bonus even with access to Sandstorm. It won't last long enough to abuse the hax that Sandstorm provides (one hit brings it down), and thus more commonly used as a full out offensive sweeper. In competetive battling, manually handling Sandstorm as a moveslot is rare, as most Sandstorm teams use Tyranitar to whip up a Sandstorm.

I'd ROFL, but that is really dumb.
