Shaymin over Mystery gift?

i found this...

Owners of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Versions will be able to download Shaymin during the 11th Pokémon movie, Giratina and the Sky's Bouquet: Shaymin, when they visit Japanese theaters July 19 through Sept. 30. The legendary Pokémon will come at Lv.50 in a Cherish Ball and will be holding a Micle Berry and a Classic Ribbon. Advance ticket holders will also be able to download a Lv.100 Regigigas holding a Custap Berry. Ticket sales begin Saturday and end July 18.

Shaymin's moveset will be Aromatherapy, Seed Flare, Substitute and Energy Ball. Regigigas will know Iron Head, Icy Wind, Rock Slide and Crush Grip.

Micle and Custap berries and Cherish Balls are not found in Diamond and Pearl and can only be obtained through events such as this. Classic Ribbons prevent the holding Pokémon from being traded via the GTS. Both Pokémon will be in Cherish Balls and will hold Classic Ribbons.

Only Japanese versions of the game will be able to receive the two Pokémon. Players will need to bring their own copies of Diamond or Pearl and a Nintendo DS.

...and wondered if that means you can get Oaks Letter over Mystery Gift between those dates. Anyone know?

I think the word "Japanese" tells you something about the fact that you're probably not gonna see it in your region so soon.

paperfunk May 27th, 2008 1:34 PM

well that just aint fair!

Peanutassailant May 27th, 2008 1:35 PM

not considerable suprise here, they normally do this, (Note movie darkrai), its common with japanese movie premieres

unfortunatly, they most likely wont do the WIFI mystery gift that i would hope they do, since i have no chance of going to a event lol.

i guess ill just need to try to trade it with one of you guys when it becomes available :P

paperfunk May 27th, 2008 2:25 PM

well, then when will a US event come about? cuz i dont wanna wait another year like we have to darkrai, cuz japan had him july 14th last year, and we're getting him now. i dont wanna wait another year for shaymin. are there any other possiblies?

Peanutassailant May 27th, 2008 2:28 PM

ummm, future pokemon game has shaymin unlockable?

thats about the best bet you have right now... i doubt you will get it in the US in 2008

Crystal Shaymin May 27th, 2008 2:30 PM

eh, find a person in japan who can trade you the event. I got my movie darkrai by asking around when it came out.

shame we have to wait a year to get an english one, but hey, english shaymin ^_^

The Graceful Assassin May 27th, 2008 2:32 PM

mind telling where you found this information. ( just to verify if its real)

paperfunk May 27th, 2008 2:34 PM

Yeah, you didn't found it. I posted it on I-forgot-where. And sorry, no Mystery Gifted Shaymin.

ClassicRockFan May 27th, 2008 3:12 PM

Well, most events are given out via Mystery Gift, but not using the Wifi function.

Ooka May 27th, 2008 5:53 PM

Nintendo likes to have very Public hand-outs. It promotes their products more than if we were all just sitting in our homes getting them.

tylerowicz May 27th, 2008 6:18 PM

hey im gonna try and get them from japan lol
itl be all over this site for trade soon :P

Toblerone May 27th, 2008 11:08 PM

*Sigh* when will any of the events (Darkrai and Shaymin) actually be a Mystery Gift item handout that triggers the event (like the man in the Pokémart and that inn)? It'd be cool to have Shaymin or Darkrai on the GTS so it can be openly traded.. I can't wait for something like that to happen..

am i the only person that thinks if nintendo were to do a Wifi event it would attract more interest than these events?

think about it, 90% of pokemon players will never go to a event, if they hear that you could get the pokemon for a short time on wifi there would be mayhem amongst pokemon players like myself, and it really would raise awareness

Don't you mean in Japan? The first post already mentioned both these events...

Ugh. A level 100 Regigigas? No EV training.
Nintendo is really starting to get annoying, ignoring us Canadians.

lol yeah. ^^
You wont see that for another year buddeh. ~ ^^
Hmm...blasted japan, gettin everything first.

Circuit May 29th, 2008 9:48 AM

Yeah, and what about England? Nintendo would do a lot better Giving it to most countries in the world than just confining it to certain countries.

Virtual Chatot May 29th, 2008 9:51 AM

Guess its time to start cloning my Eigakan Darkrais ^3^

( I know I can't them in game, I use save files and CycloDS silly )

Sydian May 29th, 2008 12:59 PM

A level 100 Regigigas? As an event? A little weird, non?

Intersting move set, though. Hmmm...though Icy Wind might be worth scrapping.

Well, it's Japanese. Sooo...I ain't gettin' it no time soon.

Considering the Pokemon birthplace is Japan, then they pratically hate us. It's like 'Oh, no Shaymin for you, America! You have President George Bush!' or something. Can't make any political jokes with England, seeing as I don't live across seas...>.>

paperfunk May 29th, 2008 1:13 PM

so... are you saying if Bush is gone, we'll get a Shaymin event? *crosses fingers*
i wish. i understand that japan gets first raps at events, but waiting a full year before it comes to the US? c'mon, have a little leeway! why do they wait a year to release anything here, anyway?

Peanutassailant May 29th, 2008 1:28 PM

LOL thats a new way to change leadership in america

"if you vote me in you will get pokemon events :D"

anyways, yea its kinda similar in england, and at least you guys get PCNY events and the odd toys r us event (but massivley delayed), we dont get anything =(

oh well, PC to the rescue :)

Actually, if no one has noticed, the moves are supposed to represent the different types of Regis.
Icy Wind=Regice
Rock Slide=Regirock
Iron Head=Registeel
Crush Grip=Regigigas *signature move*

But i'm more interested in the berries they hold rather than the actual pokemon.
