o.O Um, I like Scottish accents a lot, I suppose. They just sound really cool. I'm American, as well, and I have a NY-ish accent, but not the Brooklyn/Long Island kind, although that's an awesome accent, too. ^^;

LOL, me too!

I like the "old English" accent the most. Me, I have an american southern accent. Or, as described on the show, Family Guy, a "Deep South" accent.

"Ya'll have'a good'n."
"Ya'll come back now, ya hear."

Teara July 31st, 2004 10:50 AM

Aggron91 July 31st, 2004 11:32 AM

ive neva been to the arena, supposed to be well gd, i like cokney accents

Chairman Kaga July 31st, 2004 11:43 AM

There are still Britons with cockney (sp?) accents? o_O Cockney accents are always interesting to hear..."Ow's it goin, guvneh?"

I supppose my favorite accent (besides my own, which is American, except not country or northeast or anything) is probably Scottish, followed by British. I have no idea why, they're just pleasant to the ears I guess *shrug*

Aggron91 July 31st, 2004 11:46 AM

id like to say that british accentsa on films or tv shows that r shown in america are nothing like the ones you usualy hear here in britain, the only person who actuali tlks like tht is the queen XD

Chairman Kaga July 31st, 2004 11:55 AM

Oh, so over there they refer to the common British accent as Cockney? o_O Over here the main definition of a cockney accent is the accent that poor, inner-city londoners had back in the 1800s, the really, really thick accent. I didn't know it had a different definition in England.

And of course most Britons don't talk like they talk on American TV. I've spoken to British people before and they almost sound like us...

Kairi July 31st, 2004 12:13 PM

I agree with Teara, they have pretty distinct accents. ^_^ Though _some_people_might not realize how cool that is. >.>;
British accents have also kind of been a favorite of my mom, and to some extent me too. Some people had ‘em at Disney World and they were nifty. :3

Aggron91 July 31st, 2004 1:03 PM

no thats not what i meant, the british accent varies from place to place, (geordie, liverpudlian, mancunian, yorkshire and of course cokney) its just when i see american tv shows and films all the accents for british ppl seem to be the same, its a bit like when i see programs over here in britain where ppl r supposed to be american, you only hear one kind of accent, but i know a few american people and they all speak different. i was just saying that the people who tlk like tht arent nessacarily right, if you know what i mean, im going to stop now coz im writing myself in to a corner... X-S

Chairman Kaga July 31st, 2004 2:33 PM

Mmhmm...we have lots of amusing American accents, it's a shame they don't display them in Britain =P

Kayleigh July 31st, 2004 2:41 PM

Well, let's see... I like a lot of different accents! The New Zealand one is pretty, and so is the British. I got to talk to my penpal in England on the phone once, and she has the prettiest accent! Mine is just... Just... Southern! O_o Though, you can't really tell, except for the fact that I say 'yall' sometimes, lol. Everyone here says it so you kind of catch on, and it becomes a habit.

Anyways, I also like the French accent, and Australian.
