Help?

This is probably in the wrong section.

I have a friend who I want to battle, but he uses hacks, ubers and other stuff that's not normally excepted. I told him the standard rules, to which he replied

"I will never battle you with those rules becuase they are for wimps"

he thinks this because of 2 idiot friends he has who he thinks know everything about pokemon because they know that Ivysaur evolves at Lv. 32. They believe in the Easter Bunny.

What can I tell this kid? He has SSBB and PBR and might not let me play them if he gets mad at me, so how can I explain to him how important these rules are without bashing everything he knows and loves(IE: Dialga, Arceus, etc)???

paperfunk June 5th, 2008 8:51 AM

how about getting everyone else he knows to start battling with normal rules. then, when he realizes that there is no one to battle, he may begin to battle by the rules.

Milke June 5th, 2008 8:53 AM

he doesn't care about Wifi battling, none of his friends except me know what evs or ivs or even breeding is. His idea of training is going against the Eilte 4 30 times :/

EDIT: Oh, I see. Even if that did happen, he's VERY stubborn and won't battle at all if it means sacrificing his LV. 100 Arceus.

Beat him at his own game, train a team of Ubers, then, battle him, and beat the shizzle' outta' him!

Milke June 5th, 2008 11:33 AM

Good idea...he knows nothing of Ev or Iv training or breeding, so I can just use an uber team against him, sweep him and use my normal team against others!!! Thanks peoples.

If your Pkmn are EV trained, you might be able to beat him with a standard team (no ubers). Especially if he is one of those people who believes that Roar of Time, Draco Meteor, Hyper Beam, and Fire Blast is an acceptable moveset for Dialga.

either beat him at his own game or use EV trained pkmn and KO him

Forget training a team of ubers. Train a team of regular/standard competitive pokemon, beat him, and prove to him that Ubers are not the gods of the game. If he says you got lucky once, keep beating him until he gets it through his head.

Arceus is just a mind game. It really doesn't have many good moves. Mewtwo is the only big threat now that it can learn Aura Sphere. I recently beat a hacker with only 2 pokemon in my party and they're not even that great: Espeon and Umbreon (EV trained even though overall stats are only mediocre) :P

Technically, in the right hands, ubers are extremely powerful and difficult to beat. This friend does not sound like he knows what he's doing enough to beat a good standard team.

I did this with someone I know. Though the team consisted of only about 3 Ubers, I think. I can't exactly remember the team they used. But I beat them pretty badly; I even did the old Water-Switch-Motor Drive trick. XD

I have to agree with Kit-Tsukasa, you can beat him (probably easily) just training a competitive team. Blissey can completely wall most special sweeping Ubers. So bring a Blissey just in case. If you really want to murder him though, follow my advice I stated close to the top of the page, and train a team of Ubers, you'll torch him!

Your point? Sword Dance + STAB Extremspeed hurts like HELL.

Anyway, I'd like to fight this kid one time. Could be fun. >:)

Yes it could be fun:) beating someone that thinks hes the best.

If you dont beat him, get me and him to exchange friend codes and i'll beat with an Ev trained team without ubers. I beaten teams of ubers loads of times on PBR.

Matt-O June 6th, 2008 5:48 AM

I'd like to fight him too. Me, no ubers, him as many as 6 ubers. I've done that on Wifi before, it is fun to pwn ubers without one legendary on you team. I've taken down Arceus with a Bastiodon before.

BREAKINGBEN June 6th, 2008 6:04 AM

AC... lose? No... can't happen! :)

Hm... by the sounds of it... maybe even I can beat him XD!

Instead of trying to explain them to him, show him this thread.
