Will Nintendo ever use "In-Game" events with Diamond and Pearl?

Since Nintendo has given out Movie Darkrai to both Japan and America, and will probably do the same for Shaymin, i don't think they will be ever using their In-Game events.

I'm pretty sure the event to catch Mew in (Emerald, i think) was never used either.

If so, why do they put them in, and never use them?

What do you think?

True Justice June 9th, 2008 7:48 AM

I don't think they'll ever be used for 2 reasons.

1. Since the Old Sea Map in Emerald was never used outside of Japan, I am convinced that those event items will never be used as well.

2. Darkrai has already been released officially as a Mystery Gift Wireless Download. So they would have no reason to activate the in game events.

I thought that the In Game events would be used as a sort of last resort if they were unable to release the events through Wireless Download.

But they could be waiting to release them for Platinum.

Well I say in game events are there only so special stats or special moves for pokemon like darkrai can be coded in

There would be no point because hackers can just hack the ticket.

After the glitch in the jp version of D/P, I don't think they'll be distributing the event item.

America probably won't be giving it out too because they just gave out the Alamos event, which is getting pretty popular now. Same thing for the other Pokemon, the item won't be distributed.

its people exploiting glitches like that.

Nintendo personA: Well hey found a glitch and used it so we ont give them the vents to get them and leavearceus basicly nonexistant.
Nintendo:Good idea!

Wormow June 9th, 2008 10:18 PM

Although, the glitch D/P is considered rare because it takes forever to get.

PkMn Trained June 9th, 2008 10:20 PM

Still. I expect nintendo is sitting there. Snickerring at howplayers are ruining there games trying to get these event only. And besides. I dont think its fair. People who live close to events get them for free. However those who live faraway(Me) have to give away a rare/good poke toget the event from someone who went. Its unfair.

Wormow June 9th, 2008 10:22 PM

Australia is pretty low in events. I've only been to 2 events, which is the Manaphy event last year and the Celebi event 7-9 years ago?

Oh well, at least we get major spoilers on K-Zone like on how Dawns gonna catch a Swinub while battling Team Rocket (PM me for the scan)

I voted Yes, yet I think they are just putting those items in-game, maybe to recognize hackers. So if they got it via Membership Card, people know they used AR to get it. I hope they use them, yet maybe they won't.

Azonic June 10th, 2008 3:26 AM

I think they gave out the Old Sea Map in Japan, but that's the only time, I believe. I really doubt they'll be using the in-game events.

If they're going by the logic that the events succeeded, so they don't need to release them, that's a fault on Nintendo's part. Not everyone can get to the events, (if what's what you're talking about by "Mystery Gift Wireless Download") be it because they don't live close-by or they don't have enough money to travel there. (which would be the case for me, over the Summer)

We can but hope that they save them for a later time, however, if Shaymin is to have an alternate form, it would be a serious pain to have to wait for them to release the item for it, which would be years away, and knowing Nintendo, would be at an Event, when they could just as easily use the WFC Mystery Gift option for distribution. If they don't do that, WFC Mystery Gift will be the most pointless thing they've ever set as an option, for D/P/P.

There are plenty of people wanting to complete their Pokedexes without having to be inconvenienced by having to travel miles just to get them. That logic seems to escape Nintendo, however. (shut up, those who say, "But the Events give them more money!" The items shouldn't be made events, when they have the WFC; they make it more unique by giving them a Pokemon that has something it usually wouldn't, than giving them a chance to catch something that's "standard". That's pretty much my only dig on Nintendo Events)

Dang it.. I'm somewhat ranting about Nintendo again.. XD;

Everyones talking about "Oh jeez, i need to live close to events to get these pokemon"

You need to live close to the events to get the Items (Azure Flute, etc.)
So what does it even matter? D:

PkMn Trained June 10th, 2008 10:02 AM

The people whot dont live close to events have to give up shinies or ev'd chinies to get the pokemon. Unless theyere lucky enoughe to find someone kind enough to give away free ones.
