Tyranitar

Okay, In my Crystal version, my Tyranitar's moveset is nearly complete, with the standard Crunch/RockSlide/Earthquake, but I cannot decide what to give it for it's last move. What do you guys think?

Kairi August 5th, 2004 9:21 AM

Dragon Dance. And drop Crunch for a HP, Protect, or Ice Beam if you wanna get Flygon. XP

Da_Green_Teddy August 5th, 2004 9:32 AM

Oh, whoops, i forgot to say that it's in Crystal version. Sorry:D

Frostweaver August 5th, 2004 11:29 AM

Tyranitar @ leftovers
-fire blast/thunderbolt
-earthquake
-rock slide
-roar/minty rest

And as if Flygon is that popular enough to be a worry anyway for T-tar in advance ;p

Kid Frost August 5th, 2004 11:37 AM

Hard stone

Ice beam/blizzard
Flamethrower/fire blast
thunder/thuderbolt
Crunch

It, and Claydol are a big threat to it IMO. o_o;

lol other than the sandstorm resistance thing is claydol that much of a threat if tyranitar has crunch??
unless it has lightscreen/cosmic power setup...........

Frostweaver August 6th, 2004 10:38 AM

Anything that can block both rock slide and earthquake is a major threat. Tyranitar using crunch will result in EV split. If no sp.atk EV is added, that crunch will do just as much damage as rock slide (or perhaps slightly more), and all Claydols have one way to setup defense... possibly light screen, reflect or cosmic power. And then you'll be messed if T-tar got hit by toxic.

However, Flygon and Claydol aren't really common enough to dedicate an entire attack slot just for the sake of anti-ground+levitate. Plus, both of them are quite easily defeated by other Pokemon... one of them has almost no hp and can't heal without rest, while the other one has the ugly x4 ice.

I wasn’t really serious on the Ice Beam, though it’d be priceless to get a Flygon with it after you DD. @[email protected]; But Flygon is OU, so I wouldn’t say it’s not common enough to be a thorn in a T-tar-based team’s side.

Ice demon August 6th, 2004 3:16 PM

Nay frostweaver i would consider Flygon to be over used not underused
and as a result ice beam may just be a good idea ^_^

I though Da Green Teddy sais it was a Cristal Tyrannitar, so no EVs, no Flygons, no Claydols and Tyrannitar has no Sand Stream.

Fire Blast
Rock Slide
Earthquake
Roar
