How long to SR?

Just wondering how long it has taken other members to soft reset for a shiny pkmn?
The Rayquaza in my sig took me 40 minutes but I have been SRing for a Groudon on Ruby for over 6 hours total so far and still no shiny. :disappoin

So, how long did it take to get your SR shinies

homsar June 26th, 2008 10:04 AM

I soft reset for a shiny raquaza 3 hours a day for 2 weeks and never got one. Then I gave up and went to do some cloning.

Guitar God in Training June 26th, 2008 10:45 AM

I am probably past 8 hours now SRing for shiny Groudon.
When I finally get the shiny I wil probably never SR for shinies again.

JollyRoger25 June 26th, 2008 11:16 AM

?????? Whats SR, and what does it have to do with Shiny Pokemon ??????

homsar June 26th, 2008 12:45 PM

SR = soft reset. Its reseting the game using L+R+A+B so that you can keep fighting legendaries until you get a shiny one.

Guitar God in Training June 26th, 2008 11:42 PM

That combo is for D/P though
The buttons are A+B+Start+Select to SR on GBA though

Hadim Sinan Pasha June 27th, 2008 12:43 AM

Meh, I soft reset forever for a Shiny Groudon on Emerald I got one but it struggled before I could actually catch it. I'll never SR again for something that needs to be caught. I wouldn't mind a Shiny Beldum of a good nature i.e. Adamant.

.emerald June 27th, 2008 7:27 PM

JollyRoger25 June 27th, 2008 7:31 PM

I never found what the big facination is with shiny pokemon, my friend he got all the shiny legends along with his starter shiny, now he might of cheated, but still after like the first three, I was bored with the whole concept. Now mabey like one or mabey two shines, no more, thats just too much..... at least I think so. :D (but the black Rayquaza and Charizard do look cool)

it maybe(no "y") boring to find them but it aint boring to collect them or show them off..... its cool actually... by a little....

JollyRoger25 June 27th, 2008 7:39 PM

Well I am currently in a secluded area, Pokemon game wise, and without anybody else, i have no body to show off to.

.emerald June 27th, 2008 7:41 PM

what??? in a grassy area in the mountain?????(joke!, no offense!!)

then in school....(think positively)

JollyRoger25 June 27th, 2008 7:46 PM

Ehh, nobody has pokemon games anymore, really they don't the nerds rejected me because I own emerald. Ehh, its okay though when i move it'll be fine.

Lt. Silver June 28th, 2008 1:01 AM

still going, hopefully I find that Rayquaza soon

Guitar God in Training June 28th, 2008 1:45 AM

I'm stll trying for that yellow Groudon. I have lost count of the hours, probably about 10. Didn't do much SRing yesterday because of college.

.emerald June 28th, 2008 11:05 PM

woahhh!!! are you that guys dedicated????

Eagledawn June 29th, 2008 2:08 PM

I SRed for about ten minutes for Rayquaza until I got bored and was satisfied with a normal one. I have little patience and don't have time for something so tenacious.

FireApe2135 June 30th, 2008 10:54 AM

Question about SRing do you do it as soon as the battle starts(aka dont attack just do it)?

And does soft reseting only work on the DS?

Jake♫ June 30th, 2008 11:23 AM

Nope it works on the advanced games too. You save in front of the Pokemon you want to be shiny, enter the battle. If it's not shiny, you SR.

GKS June 30th, 2008 1:13 PM

You guys waste this much time for a Pokemon that is a different color...

I am very dedicated to this Groudon. :D
I refuse to waste the hours I have spent SRing by catching a normal Groudon.
I think I'm up to like 16 hours now, probably more. (I lost count ages ago)

I can't believe how long it's taking. The Rayquaza took 40 MINUTES SRing for the shiny. :(

It's not a waste of time to the people that want a shiny Pokemon. It all pays off afterward.

Anyway, I've never SRed for anything, but I might SR for Rayquaza, like most of you. That's the only shiny I'm really interested in, other than Eevee, which I can chain for in Diamond.

BREAKINGBEN July 4th, 2008 9:08 AM

I'm thinking about SRing on my Sapphire for Kyogre and Rayquaza... although I only have one masterball :(.

If I do do it though, it'll be for the Kyogre first, then Rayquaza on Emerald.

ScyKinG July 4th, 2008 11:42 PM

I personally tried SR'ing for a shiny evee in Fire Red while on the way to california(6 hour car ride), so i could get any shiny eveelution I wanted. 6 hours and not 1 shiny Evee.

Yea, but after 6 hours it was not worth it for me =/

Syrex July 8th, 2008 2:56 PM

I have yet to capture a shiny pokemon! I have been SRing for almost 12 hours total.

groudonlover September 13th, 2008 11:12 PM

Is there any Animation when you encounter a Shiny?
Like the Tsching sound and a line goes in a Circle on the Shinies in G/S/C?

Shiny September 13th, 2008 11:26 PM

I don't SR at all, if I don't get a shiny legendary, then I don't mind, shiny pokemon don't even appeal that much to me, sure if I see one in the wild, I'll catch it, otherwise, I don't go hunting for shinies

Angelic Diablo September 13th, 2008 11:53 PM

I only SR so I can get good competitive legends, most of the shinies don't seem worth it, however I got incredibly lucky that within 15 minutes of SRing on Emerald, I got a Shiny Adament Beldum with Max Attack IVs
