Diamond or Pearl?

I am planing to buy a new DS and a new copy of Pokemon Diamond/Pearl. I want to know what version of the game I buy? Pearl or Diamond? Or should I wait for Platinum? Please Help!

Nashton June 27th, 2008 8:26 AM

if it was me i'd wait for Pt.

cuz there so much more crap to do in it

and pesonaly i didn't enjoy the P/D that much

the whole time playing it i felt like something was missing

you may be behind your friends who have P/D

but just wait a little longer for Pt

Deal?

The only difference is the pokemon that are available so just compare the pokemon available in each game and pick which ones you prefer.

I chose Pearl because i have FR but not LG so it was easier to complete the pokedex with only the cartridges I own.
The only pkmn I can't get by myself now is Magmortar as it has to be caught in pearl to have the magmarizer.

El Gofre June 27th, 2008 8:59 AM

As said by guitar god, there is no real difference between the two games. Other than version exclusive pokes, they are the exact same game. Click here to see which game has the pokes you prefer and buy that one.

I would stay home and fap, personally. Much cheaper, too.

PokeMaster1 June 27th, 2008 1:07 PM

Go with Pearl, and then save up enough between now and next year when Platinum comes out and get it.

AdvanceMapper June 27th, 2008 2:45 PM

Get Diamond because only in Diamond can you unlock Spirtomb and is Ghost/Dark (Meaning it has 3 immunes and no weakness).

Also, Diagla is in Diamond and it's stats are better than Pearl's Palkia.

Or, you could literally wait until 2009 for Platinum.

I think both of these ops are good, but it's your chocie.

Matt-O June 27th, 2008 4:31 PM

You can get Spiritomb in both versions, genius.

Again, the only difference is the Pkmn, and Dialga/Palkia is the only notable differance. Not many peple care about whether they get Glameow or Stunky.

A new game?
No,just go with Platinum. :D
It has better features anyways.

Feathertail June 29th, 2008 7:56 AM

I have diamond , but they're both the same really.

PB. June 29th, 2008 8:06 AM

As everyones said the games are basically the same, just with a few differing pokemon. Such as Bonsly in Pearl and Mine Jr in Diamond. Neither are particaually bennifeical so you dont loose much. And to set the record straight, Pearl may be pink but its not a girls game, or a girl version. So dont judge by the coulors.

airconditioning June 29th, 2008 8:22 AM

They're pretty much the same game. But if you want Platinum, I hope you have enough patience to wait until next Spring.

Exactly, unless you don't have patience on your side, don't bother waiting for Pokémon Platinum Version.

Mukkamoto June 29th, 2008 8:36 AM

This would most likely be your best option. Or if you are dedicated to save that much more extra, buy all three titles.

Skaterzpenguin June 29th, 2008 10:04 AM

I would say Pearl, but later in the Fall Platinum comes out, so I suggest get that too later...

ConnoRAWR June 29th, 2008 10:09 AM

My solution, i got pearl, my brother got diamond, we both will get platinum.
ta-dah!

PB. June 29th, 2008 1:49 PM

If you dont want to spend too much, try getting a second hand copy because that will then be cheaper so you wont end up spending full price on both games.

It comes out in the fall in Japan. Platinum will be out in the Spring for the US.

pokefan008 June 29th, 2008 2:41 PM

I have diamond at the minute but I think platinum could beat d/p put together with the new features

Peanutz July 8th, 2008 10:10 AM

The only difference between the games is the Pokemon.
So, yeah, just decide which Pokemon you would want more. But, you can always trade.

I bought Diamond, and Dialga seems stronger anyway.

So, you could just buy Diamond or Pearl, and then maybe get Platinum when it comes out? Because that's what I'm doing.

Also, remember that Platinum is gonna have more features, and Giratina, Shaymin, and Regigigas are supposedly gonna have new forms.

...and for UK, it will likely be out during the Summer, next year. If not, other side of October/November; up to, and beyond a year after Japanese release, because the European fan base is abused as such.
