Training Spots

Hey guys, i want to know your favorite training areas, what lvl (about) poks are there, and why you like thos spots. Im just working on my new team and im sick of the same old places. cheers.

AJ™ July 2nd, 2008 8:49 AM

Depends on if your just trying to level up, or if you're trying to EV train.

Saltare. July 2nd, 2008 8:49 AM

I go to the path to Sunnyshore city and EV train there. They are about 36-42 and my pokes are almost lvl 100 from battling there.

paperfunk July 2nd, 2008 9:00 AM

if you go west of sunnyshore, there is a sailor with a lv 58 mantine and lv 59 pelipper (i believe) i like there a lot. then theres north of the battle area, where there are three trainers and their levels are around lv 60ish, those are my two favs.

Chonlel48 July 2nd, 2008 9:00 AM

The Ace Trainers at route 229 do it for me, but occasionally the (not so) Elite Four gets beat by me.

Zaia Katora July 2nd, 2008 9:19 AM

The Battle Zone (I thinks that's its name) in the north. Strong Trainers/Pokemon, great for training weak Pokemon, especially traded ones.

AdvanceMapper July 2nd, 2008 3:09 PM

If you're new to the game, Eterna Forest (You know with Cheryl and everything) because her chansey heals your Pokemon after every battle, so it's good for training your Pokemon nice and early in the game.

Well if you want wild pokemon I like the ones in Turnback Cave. After you pass the second pillar they're level 64-66.

Gulpin July 2nd, 2008 4:29 PM

I usually attach my experince share to my lowly level 1 Pokemon and go north of the resort area. A groudon with good moves can OHKO any pokemon that you run into (esp. in the sandstorm) going all the way up to stark mountain. The pokemon range from level. 22 - 56

Training is for scrubs. Real pros use hacked Rare Candies.

That said, the two Ace Trainers north of the Resort Area are probably the best trainers to grind on in the game (simply for their close proximity to the Pokemon Center).

yes, but what stinks about them is the fact that using the Vs. seeker, usually only one of them wants to battle.

the_gurpster July 2nd, 2008 4:40 PM

west of Sunnyshore is the best for training for high level but for ev training i hav alot :)

That's actually a good thing, that way you can train one pokemon without splitting the exp.

I typically go to the base of Stark Mountain. There's a house not ten steps away where you can rest up and heal your Pkmn. All the Pkmn you find there excluding the occasional Gligar or Numel gives you between 1000-1600 Exp, and I have a Lucky Egg so it goes even faster.

Yes, that is where I usually train, I'm there now! I should trade to get a lucky egg soon though.

Super Puppy July 2nd, 2008 6:11 PM

I use specific spots for EV training, but after that, I just sweep the Pokemon League over and over for easy leveling. It's proven the fastest way for me (at least in D/P). The base of Stark Mountain is my second choice.

Matt-O July 2nd, 2008 6:12 PM

Do it. Those Rhydon are worth 2400 a pop with a Lucky Egg.

Super Puppy July 2nd, 2008 6:25 PM

Okay, I'll take your word for it. Thanks!

Now I've got to go get me a Lucky Egg...

GS the Bounty Hunter July 2nd, 2008 6:29 PM

Recently I've been training at Valor Lakefront against Bibarel to EV Train my Lucario in Attack. So far it's been working out great.

Circuit July 3rd, 2008 11:18 AM

I train in or around stark mt because the pokemon give you good exp.

*off topic* How do you EV train?

There's a guide pinned in this section that includes EV training.

Filllllllleeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrr

Personally I battle the Elite Four, even though the island gives more Experience Points. Besides, it doesn't hurt to earn more Poke dollars does it?

I've trained all of my team up to level 100 AND I evolved many Pokemon (using EXP share) by battling the Elite Four.

Roy G. Biv July 4th, 2008 3:29 AM

That thingamajig of grass leading to the cave where you catch Giratina. Not sure of it's official title :/

The levels of the wild guys are around 55, give or take a few levels.

Kerotan July 5th, 2008 2:06 PM

I only EV train for my comp. Pokemon...
In-game, EVs don't really matter.
The Route above Resort Area (forgot name) is pretty sweet for S.Atk EVs, and decent for Speed, I believe.
It is also a good place to train Flying and Fire types.^_^
