Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal remake

Do you think they'll come out with a remake of G/S/C? I think they will since they made a remake of R/B (but not yellow D=).

If they did come out with a remake, would you buy it? I sooo would! G/S/C are my most favorite of ALL the Pokemon games!!! The music, pokemon, storyline...it's all AWESOME! And maybe we can go to another region BESIDES Kanto! Maybe....a new region...=)

pokemonlover93 July 7th, 2008 4:44 PM

I totally agree with you, they were the best out there. Everything about it was just like....
"Wow, is this actually a game? If so, it's heaven!" They were the best, I wish they would, and they might even, Well, keep going with your theory!
Good Luck!

NO we DON'T want a G/S/C remake, want to know why? Because if they did it would end up like FR/LG were they added a whoel buch of useless crap, plus they would "have" to add in the 3rd and 4rth gen. moves/pokemon and G/S/C was almost perfect the right moves my favorite set of TM's and HM's the perfect amount of Pokemon IMO, som eof the best Pokemon etc, adding all the new crap would ruin the best of the whole series...

I'd like a remake. I just want to hear the new remixed music =)

A remake would be a good idea because it would remind us the old good times...
But as Dragonzilla said, with the 3rd and especially the 4th generation the game will be a crap.

Umm... tell me how the additional moves would mess it up? If anything, it would make the Pokemon of the G/S/C Generation more versatile, (as it pretty much has done, with some) and the only thing it would mess up would be Headbutt (which was a TM(02) in G/S/C and a rather important one, due to Headbutt Trees and the HMs would just be the same as G/S/C, because I don't know if you've noticed, but they're never the same. Example being, D/P ditched Flash and Dive, (ditching Flash as a HM was the smartest thing to do, in my opinion) and added Defog and Rock Climb as HMs; R/S/E replaced Whirlpool with Dive and I think added Waterfall.

The Pokemon of Hoenn and Sinnoh wouldn't have to be added until the National Dex, should they add one in, because if you haven't noticed, FR/LG had a National Dex, which before acquiring, limited you to the Pokemon of Generation I.

However, I will agree with you that an additional area, such as the Sevii Islands, wasn't really needed in FR/LG. But, it was a fun little distraction, and the game even gave you a chance to capture the Legendary Dogs of Johto. In some ways, the good shines forth, over the bad. So long as they don't go overboard with a G/S/C Remake; by which I mean add a place that really isn't necessary, or completely change the geography of Johto, then it should be great. The additions of R/S/E and D/P/P wouldn't harm the game, in my opinion, because the game would still be the same as G/S/C.

...and stop saying "we". Not everyone thinks like you do... -.-;;

As for me, I'm one of those people that feels with all the hints towards the Johto Region through D/P and such, I'd be rather disappointed if a G/S/C remake didn't come through. I'd personally like a remake to see what Johto looks like, in awesomeD/P graphics, but if they don't make one, I would be disappointed, but it wouldn't be something I'd rant about, or whatever.

In my opinion, I think it would be a brilliant game. It'd be like celebrating the success that was G/S/C, back in '99/2000/2001. (Japanese, US and Europe releases, respectively) Speaking of 1999, November 2009 would mark the 10th year since G/S/C's release. Not to put false hope into those who want a remake, but hmm...

I personally would love a remake of G/S/C

But I would prefer them to make a game with /all/ regions... Seeing as I only know Kanto and Jhoto... I would love to be able to visit all the regions... It would bring Nintendo back up to number one in my eyes.... I thought they would do it with R/S/E but when I first got the rom and started I was like, "Well that sucks..."

Netto Azure July 8th, 2008 2:30 PM

WOW!!!

I would love a remake! Some of us had lost there 2nd Gen PM games, so please remember us. The passage of time can do a lot of things....

Likewise July 8th, 2008 2:38 PM

yes they will, bulbapedia said that nintendo copyrighted the name "pokemon dawn silver"

kirby144 July 8th, 2008 5:32 PM

Well the thing is that for some of the moves like Waterfall and headbutt they have been moves ever since Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow. over time the attacks have changed and remember in Fire Red and Leaf Green they got rid of Dive. They could in fact have Whirlpool as a HM since you can't trade HMs. Then have a Move Tutor that will teach your Pokémon HeadButt for money or something and you could use it multiple times.

Hmm Wiiware possibility

Detox July 8th, 2008 5:52 PM

I believe they will because they copyrighted the names DawnSilver and DuskGold...

delfus610 July 8th, 2008 5:55 PM

In stead of talking about it you could just make a haked game of them don't you think...

Detox July 8th, 2008 5:58 PM

Shiny Gold? Ive tried it....it was really good, but I never figured out how to save my progress.

kirby144 July 8th, 2008 6:03 PM

Please, change the colors, it hurts my eyes.

I don't know how many threads with have asking for one, and the thing is, they probably won't make it, we can have all the hope in the world, but probably not. BTW, shouldn't there be a G/S/C Remake Disscussion Thread so that the forum doesn't get flooded with these types of threads?

Skaterzpenguin July 8th, 2008 7:17 PM

Everyone would buy the game, but I doubt it they are making G/S/C remakes...

Smarties-chan July 9th, 2008 12:43 AM

Why won't people use the search function before posting things like this? I've closed too many threads like this already. I know people are still keeping their hopes up for a remake, but these "what-if"-topics are getting really old.
