Rotom's status

I was trying to strengthen my Rotom on Pokemon Diamond to fight in Pokemon Battle Revolution, when I thought of something. Is Rotom a legendary Pokemon? Or is he just a one-in-the-game Pokemon like Riolu? I had thought he was a Legendary Pokemon, until I played Battle Revolution where it seems like everyone has one.

Crotina July 16th, 2008 8:42 AM

he is i think because you cant get a rotom egg...

Mitchman July 16th, 2008 8:45 AM

No rotom gets an egg. I have bout 5.

Crotina July 16th, 2008 8:47 AM

oh realY?

CoCa-P26 July 16th, 2008 8:48 AM

Not a legendary. Rotoms can breed.

LethalTexture July 16th, 2008 8:49 AM

Yess, Rotom can breed, and he is not a legendary Pokemon. He is just a regular Pokemon that happens to be next to the legendaries in the National Pokédex.

Sydian July 16th, 2008 8:49 AM

This is quite a debate.

Rotom is in the section of the Pokedex where other legendaries are, and it also has legendary theme music when you battle it.

But the fact it can produce eggs of its own kind makes you wonder.

But I guess he's just decoration. He's not legendary.

revelp8 July 16th, 2008 8:50 AM

i don't think rotom as a legendary. even though the way to catch him is kinda peculiar, his stats are meh and he is able to give off eggs in the amorphous group.

AJ™ July 16th, 2008 8:50 AM

Manaphy is a legend, but can produce eggs.

But, to be considered a legend, you'd need legendary status. Like how mew has the DNA of all pokemon. You never hear about Rotom, besides "HE LIVES IN THE TV"

Eruption July 16th, 2008 8:53 AM

AJ, Manaphy cant produce eggs of its own kind though.

Rotom isnt really a legendary, he can breed, has a high catch rate and doesnt really have usual legendary stats.

Mitchman July 16th, 2008 8:54 AM

And he is level 15! I mean if legendary then he is the legend of noobs.

That doesnt really matter, it should still count as legendary aslong as you can only get one without an event or by trading.

AJ™ July 16th, 2008 9:04 AM

Then i suppose Sudowoodo was a "Legend" back in Gold/Silver? :P

vudw July 16th, 2008 9:04 AM

(I LOST MY POST!! >_<)

Anyway, what if he could be both in a little way. Bred with ditto: non-legendary. Only 1 to catch in game: legendary. Odd location: legendary. No gender: both. And I'm sure you can come up with a few more that vary. Oh and the horrible stats: What The Stove! definitely not the usual legendary stats! Non-legendary for that one obviously.

AJ™ July 16th, 2008 9:08 AM

I still don't think he's legendary,

I just think he's very Uncommon.

In the terms of me not catching him then yes, the best legendary. [/big headedness]

Anyway on serious terms, couldnt Sudowoodo breeed in G/S/C?

Yeah, i was just showing that there could be a one-of-a-kind, without it being a legend.

I think so.

vudw July 16th, 2008 9:15 AM

I guess that makes sense. The fact that it hacks a load of electronic devices is just about unreal though. I mean sure you can't do that IN the game, but it seems like that probably contributes, in a small amount, that people think of him as legendary. I do agree with the uncommon grouping though.

Arceus80 July 16th, 2008 9:16 AM

Well i have 2 shiny rotom so there half normal half legendarie

Eruption July 16th, 2008 9:16 AM

Nope it can breed,

Serebii reckons it learns self destruct through breeding.

I don't think Rotom's "ledgendary." He isn't super hard to catch,can be bred,and arean't very good.

Remember Snorlax wasn't ledgendary and we was near the top of the Pokedex and there was only one.

There were 2 (R/B/Y), but thats a little off topic here, but still a good point.

Just because it's shiny doesn't mean it's a legendary. If that's not your meaning, word it a little differently next time.

My Opinion Still Stands!
