And if the opponent let's you set one or two calm minds Slowbro can be quite a pain!

True Reign November 29th, 2008 1:10 PM

Slowbro < Slowking.

Calm Mind with a Slowbro can be quite deadly when used correctly.

Good rod always gets you high lv pokemon, it's cool!
Kyogre would easily beat wailord, you see though wailord as amazing HP it doesn't have defenses to make it useful, it's a pitty!

i choose to ignore it and this is what i think of u hitting me with a bat*takes away bat and knees vendak where it hurts :P* and so im not off topic i think that the only reason whalord is useful at all in saphire, ruby, and emerald is u need him to get the regis

Rogue planet November 30th, 2008 2:30 AM

You can't grab the bat, the nail through it will go in your hand xD

Wailord is very powerful, I've had to face a lvl 100 one before and it was very hard, it kept using dive so I couldn't hit it and when I did hit it only a small amount of HP was lost, it owned me pretty bad.

You didn't find a lv 100 in the wild, did you? It's not possible... is it? ._.

I've never raised a Wailmer to a Wailord. They look too weird for me xD I want good looking pokémon [/weird priorities] :3 But some do think Wailord looks cool (blimp pokémon, anybody?)

I've tried to raise a Slowpoke... But I didn't have patience enough ^^" Does it evolve into Slowbro at a certain lv?

Mitchman November 30th, 2008 4:37 AM

At lvl 37. Which is kinda cool. And i always thought you had to level up with a shelder in-team.

xD Yeah... anime sure has influenced us. They showed the evolution being just Shellder biting Slowpoke's tail and changing shape, and then Slowpoke stood up on its hind legs and voila~ Slowbro.

Mitchman November 30th, 2008 4:52 AM

And the tgc. I got me a 250HP wailord card and im like damn i need my a wailord in rs/ Turns out it was useless. Also is anyone a fan of water pokemon like me? i mean no matter what i have the starter as a water type and a secnd one for ice moves.

i can when i punch u in the face with a CLEET and u drop it

and it is inpossible to find a whailord lv:100 in the wild unless its a glich

Rogue planet November 30th, 2008 11:05 AM

I didn't say it was in the wild, it was against my friend; wild Pokemon can't learn HM's anyway.

Wandering lucario November 30th, 2008 11:10 AM

yah i know thats why i said it can only happen in the wild because of a glitch

loool I can't belive u really did that XD! Awesome!
I once left an Unown at daycare, now he's lv 90 XD

Mitchman November 30th, 2008 1:57 PM

I once left a magikarp at the daycare and it was level 60-65just to see if it learned any moves. It learned crap and i was stuck with a week of exp sharing the stupid thing.

Witch December 1st, 2008 4:52 AM

I hate leaving a pokemon at the daycare. I always forget they're there & they change the movesets on me to crappy attacks & it racks up a pretty pokedollar by sitting in there

Mitchman December 1st, 2008 5:12 AM

Exaclty. For that level 60 mgikarp i had to pay 59000. I had it at level 1 newly bred XD

moon December 1st, 2008 9:22 AM

Guys, we're getting offtopic here...

So I'm creating one ;)

What are, in your opinion, the most underrated Water Pokémon in the games or in battling? (and maybe in anime/manga too?)

Goldeen. In the games. I've never bothered using it. Seaking as well. If I remember right, it's got crappy SpAtk and that makes me want to use another pokémon if I need a water type on my team.

But I'm glad Misty used a Goldeen many times in the anime :3

Witch December 1st, 2008 11:52 AM

Great Question! ^^
What are, in your opinion, the most underrated Water Pokémon in the games or in battling? (and maybe in anime/manga too?)
-Krabby & Kingler. Ash only used his once & it was never heard from again :/

I'm not sure about in the games, seeing as that really depends on the trainer.

It was hear of again. It evolved into Kingler, right? And as Krabby, it was seen many times living at Oak's ^^
I've never used Krabby/Kingler. They too have to too low SpAtk for my taste...as far as I can remember!

What are, in your opinion, the most underrated Water Pokémon in the games or in battling? (and maybe in anime/manga too?) again..

Also, Mantine (it's called that, right? XD). I want to use one in Crystal now, but for now I've got Gyarados and am content with that one :p I think I heard of Mantine getting an upswing with the coming of baby Mantyke, but I don't know for sure?

In the Pokémon Adventures manga though, the Johto protagonist, Gold, has one and it could fly~ 8D (with the help of remoraids under its "wings") It's luvable.

Mitchman December 1st, 2008 12:24 PM

Im suprised no one said lovdisc! I hate that thing for its tendacy to be absofrikenlutely useless.

moon December 1st, 2008 12:27 PM

That's true... and it's spelled Luvdisc :3

What are, in your opinion, the most underrated Water Pokémon in the games or in battling? (and maybe in anime/manga too?)

Remoraid! And Octillery. Haven't seen an Octillery in the games :| And not in the anime. Maybe not even in the manga! The manga's usually very good when it comes to giving stage light to under-used Pokémon :/

Wandering lucario December 1st, 2008 3:26 PM

DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! u guys have not said anything about Lotad and his evolvtions,Chinchou,Wooper,Wingull,Surskit,Azurill,Luvdisc,Shellos,FinneonFeebas and most of all Magikarp are all my mos hated waters

b7astoise December 1st, 2008 4:18 PM

what about poliwag lol but hey you gotta love magikarp...aah so powerful..

Maybe we didn't want to mention all of them at once? And you just say what pokémon you "hate", you don't say anything about them being underrated :s

Quote:

I love Poliwag :D I don't think it's very underrated either. It does evolve into Poliwrath/Politoed after all. In the PokéSpe manga, it feels like everyone has a Poliwag (at least two protagonists have >.<) and Misty had one in the anime. And I often use Poliwag/Poliwhirl in the games. So I wouldn't call Poliwag underrated, since many I know have it... but it differs from person to person, probably :)

Shvibzik December 2nd, 2008 2:03 PM

WHat are you talking about???!!! everyone knows that splash is the strongest atack in the whole game!!! A choice banded splash kills a mewtwo in one hit!
Magikarp is overpowered, in my opinion they should make it weaker

b7astoise December 2nd, 2008 8:27 PM

ok ok i see your point now on poliwag lol...then what about qwilfish?? i've never had or used one...omg i better go find one now i feel sad lmao. man my level 100 darkrai got beat by a level 23 magikarp, the battle was so intense!

Rogue planet December 3rd, 2008 4:52 AM

What are, in your opinion, the most underrated Water Pokémon in the games or in battling? (and maybe in anime/manga too?)

I don't many are underrated but I do think some are overrated, I would say Dewgong is underrated in the anime though.

♣Gawain♣ December 3rd, 2008 5:19 AM

What are, in your opinion, the most underrated Water Pokémon in the games or in battling? (and maybe in anime/manga too?)

Lots. Magikarp and Feebas the Lame. Luvdisc and Remoraid plus Corsola too!

Mitchman December 3rd, 2008 8:05 AM

How can someone say chinchou? I mean it evolves into the only water type with an electric type as well. A true formidable foe. And wtf lotad is the best. Ludicolo is mexican based after all...

Shvibzik December 3rd, 2008 10:59 AM

I agree with Mitchman Lanturn can be very useful in water team specially because of Volt Absorb

Mitchman December 3rd, 2008 11:01 AM

And i always have a team with 3 water types. Empoleon swampert and lanturn. Without those 3 i would be really in trouble.

Wandering lucario December 3rd, 2008 2:58 PM

i didnt say lanturn i said chinchou i got lv100 lanturn

Sweet Candace December 3rd, 2008 5:02 PM

I always have my starter in my team and I usually pick the Water-type. I sometimes bring out some other Water-type, like Gyarados.

Witch December 4th, 2008 4:55 AM

I'm trying to break away from the all water team >__< So all I have on my team is Vaporeon & Poliwrath

Shvibzik December 4th, 2008 12:01 PM

A 6 water poke team is nice since their second type usually give them great type coverage!

Rogue planet December 5th, 2008 8:08 AM

I never take an all (insert type here) team, as soon as my opponent takes out a strong (insert type super effective against my team here) pokemon I'm defeated before it's even started.

Dukey December 5th, 2008 12:07 PM

As Akatsuki said, there are lots of secondary types. Like Water/Grass, Water/Electric, Water/Ground etc etc

Mitchman December 5th, 2008 12:10 PM

Water grass never happened duke but if it did then i would be all flippy and happy. I mean how many weaknesses would it have?

Dukey December 5th, 2008 12:11 PM

Umm ever heard of Ludicolo?

Mitchman December 5th, 2008 12:21 PM

Oh fridge i forgot him. And i love him. Im so stupid *facepalm*
Thanks man now i know what me team is:
Empoleon
Marshtomp
Lanturn
Kingdra
Ludicolo
Flygon.

Pretty good right? I mean its water themed and covers a lot of types when it comes to being effective.

Dukey December 5th, 2008 12:26 PM

I assume Marshtomp is going to be evolved?

Mitchman December 5th, 2008 12:28 PM

Whoops swampert. Its 1 am im falling asleep and i usually get them confused ><

Dukey December 5th, 2008 12:29 PM

Fair enough, I wouldn't blame you for a having a Marshtomp in-game though, they are freakin awesome.

Mitchman December 5th, 2008 12:32 PM

Yeah i know. And i have it up to the llast level up move to have it learn moves faster.

Dukey December 5th, 2008 12:36 PM

Meh I would do that... if I could be screwed to find an everstone...

Mitchman December 5th, 2008 12:49 PM

DP has a nice amount of them. I have what 2 or 3 of them. Andi usually press b when evolving to cancel it out. Also is it good to have return? I have a max hapiness for all my pokemon and they all can make quite a strong hit. So is it or no?

Dukey December 5th, 2008 1:30 PM

yer its a very good move, I use it on my Infernape to kill Gyarados, cause I couldn't be screwed to breed for T-Punch just for an in game moveset...

Witch December 6th, 2008 8:06 AM

Return is pretty good, seeing as it relies on the bond between you & your pokemon. :) I noticed something though, I left my tentacruel in the pc for about a week & it's affection went down :/

Dukey December 6th, 2008 12:29 PM

Yer, it also goes down if you don't use it in battles, even if it is in your party.

Mitchman December 6th, 2008 12:41 PM

Yeah i like had a level 60 empoleon and it was like wroar i kill. I had a level 20 ponyta and it was all meh i hate you and i spit as an attack. The anti return move is good for that though as it can help training.

Dukey December 6th, 2008 12:47 PM

XDD

Frustration? I NEVER USE IT

oops caps lock =P

Mitchman December 6th, 2008 12:55 PM

I do! So hmm could i start a topic?
If you could be able to breed an ultimate water type out of 2 existing ones what would you breed and what would be the result.
Swampert and empoleon to make mudlup the mud/steel/water type pokemon. It basically pawns as an empolert and it has a 3 way typage that could surely be a trouble.

Wandering lucario December 6th, 2008 2:59 PM

i would breed Empoleon and Lanturn to make Lanpole the Elec,Water, and Steel type pokemon or

Tentacrool and Empoleon to make Empacrool the Water,Steel, and Poison type pokemon

Shvibzik December 7th, 2008 3:26 AM

How about Kingdra + Ludicolo = Kingcolo (Grass/Water/Dragon) lol the name sounds kinda stupid

Mitchman December 7th, 2008 3:31 AM

In my language colo is butt so it could be assking. XD i know so stupid but funny.

And I don't think I joined here, if not can I? I love Kingdra and Wailord.

Yh I'm makng myself an-all water too but I'm having trouble getting the tms for Gyarados 80 battle points each is a lot! I get tired of clearing it after some time...

b7astoise December 8th, 2008 3:32 PM

Shvibzik December 8th, 2008 3:42 PM

b7astoise December 8th, 2008 4:05 PM

Akatsuki, that trainer card is awsome ^^

..::Michi::.. December 10th, 2008 11:18 AM

Oh, theres even a club for the amazing Water type?
Do you think theres any way that I could join?
And a question, did they take gyarados out of being a water in Diamond/Pearl, I used thunderbolt on it, and it wasn't super effective.

Shvibzik December 10th, 2008 11:39 AM

Yh B7astoise I accept your challenge, but I still have to et some TMs and other moves

No it still is a water type!
You might have just missed the "It's super effective" sentence. And even if it wasn't watertype, thnderbolt would still be efective against his flying part type!

Yh he should otherwise he'd be overpowered, hence turned into an uber!

Guillermo December 12th, 2008 9:37 PM

He shouldn't be flying. No fish can fly. He's not overpowered either, but people think he is because he's in a lot of competitive battling teams. A simple Shock Wave would kill him from a Pikachu if it were a high enough level.

moon December 13th, 2008 5:20 AM

At some places, (some images, even OFFICIAL images) Gyarados really is flying. I'll see if I can find one of those pics...

Mitchman December 13th, 2008 6:48 AM

Is gyarados flying/water or dragon/water? I forget. Also what you would be thinking of fable is movie 1 and the floating gyarados. 10 years ago that was for me. And since then i was like wtf why wont it learn fly?!

Shvibzik December 13th, 2008 8:45 AM

He is powerfull! it has a monstrous atack and a good sp. def, plus it has intimidate the only thing that doesn't make it an uber is the fact that he is 2 times weak against thunder atacks! And a pikachu could never kill a gyarados, have you seen it's base sp.atack? it's like 55 as for gyardos it has 100 base sp. def if they were at the same level like both at lv.100 and pikachu with modest nature and gyarados with a sp.def neutral nature, pikachu at most would put gyarados with half it's hp specially with a weak move like shock wave!

moon December 13th, 2008 9:42 AM

In that movie, it was Mewtwo who made him fly. All the other pokés flied as well, right? :3

I mean a banner I've got somewhere... with all 1st gen pokémon running towards you... Gyarados is with Pidgeot and Dragonair in the sky, methinks.

Also, it's water/flying. Not dragon.

Circuit December 13th, 2008 12:58 PM

Sorry I haven't been on, Garados is Water/Flying not Water/Dragon, plus Mewtwo made him fly in the movie.

Volkner's Apprentice December 13th, 2008 1:06 PM

New topic, perhaps? Since we've agreed on Gyarados' type. :P

Alright, out of the current water Pokemon, what Pokemon (you can name a few) desperately need evolutions?

In my opinion, if Luvdisc wants people to stop making fun of it so much, it should get an epic Heart-thing evolution. I have no idea about names. XD

Otherwise, I think Corsola, since no one uses it in competitive battling and it's really a sweet Pokemon, should have an evolution. And somehow lose the Rock type; A Water/Ground or Steel might be neat for it.

Shvibzik December 13th, 2008 1:17 PM

Yh I agree with Volkner's aprentice and I think relicanth should get an evolution too and maybe give one more evolution to lumineon

Dukey December 13th, 2008 1:35 PM

Another Floatzel Evo would be good. And also, a 3rd Cross Evo for Clampearl.

Corsola and buizel needs a pre-evo. So damn cute that will be. yes guys actually could think a pokemon is cute. =O

Dukey December 13th, 2008 2:27 PM

A Corsala pre-evo would be pathetic. I mean, what comes before coral?

-I agree. I'm very dissappointed with the way corsola is. & A pre-evo wouldn't help matters. Welcome, ..::Michi::.. I'll add you now!

Maybe a cross evo of Feebas, you know, instead of it becoming beatiful it becomes a fish version of Weezing xD

I kinda disagree with that. Do you want a minute polyp pre-evo for corsola? Eww...

And what's before sea ottesr? Fetus? Zygote? Egg? O.O

Dukey December 13th, 2008 9:25 PM

A smaller sea otter?
What we're saying is with Corsola, is that we can't just make it smaller and/or remove some of its limbs (xD) It would just look like a Heal Ball =/

Mitchman December 14th, 2008 2:27 AM

Whoops i meant corsola evo and buizel pre-evo.

moon December 14th, 2008 3:34 AM

True! Corsola needs an evo, so I would bother using it -.-

Naawww, Buizel baby poké. How sweet it would be.

I think you just leave the things the way it is. It's much better.
