Pokemon Diamond + Pearl

I haven't played pokemon since i won against nintendo magazine editor with my charizard with mewtwo powers and had my red blue and yellow have mew transfered onto them.

anyways.

i want to know what pokemon games can i play on the nintendo ds if i get one and are all pokemon on the nintendo ds?

are the
red blue ruby sapphire pokemon on the ds?

True Justice July 23rd, 2008 6:18 AM

The only Pokemon games on the DS are Diamond, Pearl, Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Darkness/Time/Blue Rescue Team, and Pokemon Dash.

Red and Blue were remade as FireRed and LeafGreen on the GBA so they would not be remade on DS and Ruby and Sapphire have not been remade.

MadKingGeorge July 23rd, 2008 6:19 AM

if i cant or there isnt?

can i transfer pokemon red and blue and yellow ect and other pokemon games of the same genre to the pearl diamond games?

True Justice July 23rd, 2008 6:21 AM

Unfortunately, R/B/Y and G/S/C cannot be transferred to Diamond and Pearl, same way they can't be transferred to R/S/E. Only Pokemon from R/S/E can be transferred to Diamond.

MadKingGeorge July 23rd, 2008 6:21 AM

says i can import stuff but how what previous games?

  • Import previously captured pokemon from all of the pokemon series on the GBA.

so only ruby sapphire and and emerald can?

but are the pokemon from red on the pokemon games of the others?

id hate to go through a game with out a blastoise ect

That's correct. All of the Pokemon Series on the GBA. Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald.

For this, only Ruby Sapphire and Emerald can migrate with Diamond. This is because the trading system is different in Gen.1 and 2, where one Pokemon is sent first and after that trade is done, the next pokemon is traded. Where as in Gen. 3 and 4, both Pokemon are traded at the same time. In case you were wondering. Just so you know, when you migrate to Diamond, you can't send them back to R/S/E.

Eruption July 23rd, 2008 6:50 AM

Quite a few things missed out here.

First of all Ranger and the original mystery dungeon are also available on DS. Soon Ranger 2 aswell.

Also, not only R/S/E pokemon can be transferred but also FR/LG pokemon.

You wont need a GBA aswell as the DS can play GBA games.

MadKingGeorge July 23rd, 2008 6:53 AM

thanks i dont mind not sending them back all on the new game would be nice

but do i need another console to trade?

also are all of the pokemon on diamond and pearl

You only need 1 DS to trade them over, the normal DS cartridge slot and the GBA cartridge slot.

All Pokemon can be found in DP except for:
The Gen. 1, 2, and 3 starters
Articuno
Zapdos
Moltres
Mewtwo
Mew
Entei
Raikou
Suicune
Lugia
Ho-oh
Celebi
Regirock
Regice
Registeel (all 3 Regis are available in Platinum)
Latios
Latias
Kyogre
Groudon
Rayquaza
Jirachi
Deoxys
Manaphy (Pokemon Ranger)
Phione

Eruption July 23rd, 2008 7:01 AM

Not all but if you have FR or LG and R/S or E then you can get them all.

Also you wont need another console, you put FR/LG or R/S/E in the GBA slot and your Diamond or Pearl cartridge will pick it up.

MadKingGeorge July 23rd, 2008 7:10 AM

what areFR or LG and R/S or E ect im not good with the letters

Eruption July 23rd, 2008 7:13 AM

They are abreviations.

FR = Fire Red
LG = Leaf Green
R/S/E = Ruby/Saphire/Emerald.

MadKingGeorge July 23rd, 2008 7:20 AM

ah thanks

so i buy those 5 game boy advance games play them complete them train ect level learn new moves

then buy diamond and pearl and transfer them all?

also another question

is it still limited to a certain amount of pokemon you can carry but storage is unlimited

redletters July 23rd, 2008 7:27 AM

it is limited, but you have enough room to store close to 600 Pokes + 6 in your party.

Eruption July 23rd, 2008 7:28 AM

6 can be carried, you get about 15 boxes for storage (about 30 spaces in each box) and if you somehow run out of space after that then you can get Pokemon Ranch on wii.

You wont need all 5.

If you want all pokemon get either FR or LG and get either Ruby or Sapphire but Emerald is a definate buy. Personally, I'd get Diamond over Pearl and wait for Platinum to get Palkia.

If you have a wii, Colleseum and XD will help you get a few rarer legendaries.

MadKingGeorge July 23rd, 2008 7:35 AM

palkia?

also do they still sell the guides to go with each game :D

Eruption July 23rd, 2008 7:38 AM

Palkia is the main legendary of Pearl.

I would advise getting diamond because Dialga is much better and next year you can get platinum and get Palkia then. You could get both Diamond and Pearl but there isnt much point in getting both.

Guides are still available, yes.

MadKingGeorge July 23rd, 2008 7:43 AM

thanks i cant wait till i get back to playing them. i think i lost my pokemon blue ;-( had my winning pokemon on there beaten by 3hp or thanks for advice too gonna have to be busy later on then

Some Random July 23rd, 2008 7:20 PM

you can catch from sinnoh on diamand and pearl, but you can only catch a few from hoenn and kanto and none from jhoto

~*Champion Shirona*~ July 23rd, 2008 9:49 PM

O_______O. I am sorry to say I couldn't follow along on your post. What exactly are you asking for? But if you are asking for any DS Pokemon games....those will be Diamond and Pearl. You can catch Kanto, Jhoto pokemon in D/P.

You CAN play Pokémon Gameboy Advance Games on the Nintendo DS. Pokémon Fire Red and Leaf Green are re-makes of the original 2 games to be released in Japan. Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire are two new games. Pokémon Emerald is the third version, as Pokémon Yellow was to Blue and Red and how Crystal was to Gold and Silver. Original Game Boy Colour games, however, cannot be played on the DS. Pokémon Diamond and Pearl are the first 2 offical DS Pokémon game and there is a third game to accompany them coming early next year called Pokémon Platinum. In addition - there are many different spin-off games, such as Pokémon Ranger or the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series of games.

Also, by using the Pal-Park feature in Diamond and Pearl you will be able to import the Pokémon you have caught in the other GBA games. Also, you can catch some Pokémon in Diamond and Pearl by inserting a GBA game into the bottom socket. Pokémon such as Elekid and Magby, who cannot usually be caught in the wild appear if you have Pokémon Fire Red or Leaf Green in the lower socket
