Another note, if anyone has problems contacting their partner because they haven't been online, you can go ahead and do the challenge (or be challenged) yourself. If by Friday, everyone in the Last 16 hasn't checked in here, we'll replace that team member with an alternate. |
Well I was lucky enough to get partnered up with one of the Bosses. I am hoping preferential treatment XD. We have been planning our method of attack and I believe we have a good strategy so far

i thionk there are some unfair pairings, but i think me and juno will still make through, dont under estimate us :D Me and Junoliv challenge The American Battler & Matt-O |

To clarify, once another team with the opposite scroll challenges you, your team can't refuse the challenge. However, you do get to choose the match-ups. Kairyu, since you and MasterUmbreon were challenged by Ito and Volkner, you get to choose which one of you will be fighting Ito and which one will be fighting Volkner. This makes it fair for both teams ^_^
|
I'm here now so I'm ready =/
Edit: I guess everyone else isn't =/ |

Well folks, it looks like we have all of our match ups!
(1) Kanye West and (9) The Graceful Assassin Vs. (7) cowan and (15) Mystery2009 (3) The American Battler and (10) Matt-O Vs. (2) junoliv and (12) Mukkamoto (5) Ito_Igami and (14) Volkner's Apprentice Vs. (4) -Kairyu and (11) MasterUmbreon (6) _Prince_ and (13) aragornbird Vs. (8) sam2243 and (16) desolation101 The teams that were challenged can now decide who will be battling who. Since the last match up must be Graceful and Kanye Vs. Mystery and Cowan, I have flipped a coin to see who will decide the match ups, and it's Graceful and Kanye. The italicized teams are the ones that have been challenged, so they pick the match ups. Round Two can now commence! PM/VM your opponents and good luck! Quote:
|
Well me and my partner agreed that I'd take on Ito and he would take on Volkner
|
It's not like you had a choice =P
|
What is that suppose to mean? -_-"
|
[/confused]
Anyway, I'll just go update those matchups then =] Posty, you and Graceful decide who you're battling yet? |

Lol....take your time. (Just don't pull a Bendak) XD |

|

Good luck Assassin, I hope to see you in the next round so we can give this tourney another intense match, but first I got to get past Ito *sighs* Heres goes nothing :P
|
Quote:
Hehehehe nope. I wanted to dissapoint you XD We thought that I should take on Volkner and M-Umbreon take on you because thats how we roll. |
It's also been set for desolation101 to take _Prince_, while sam2243 is going to fight aragornbird.
Meaning the only match-ups we're waiting for now are whether Matt-O will face Junoliv or Mukkamoto, and then other will face The American Battler. (provided he's still active...I e-mailed him, so hopefully he'll be back to check in.) |
Ill be battling Matt-O
and Junoliv will be battling TAB |
Quote:
only they can decide which is facing which . we cant since we challenged them. |

Hey how's this going nowadays?
I had to give my friend back his DS way back in september so i've been away from pokemon :/ |
Quote:
We're just starting round two, so we're right on track. Aw, that sucks about the DS. Is yours broken? I hope you return to the battling zone soon enough. |
oo been away for some while. I'll contact desolation101 right away.
|
Quote:
we will still take them on at full force |
IF you think defeating us will be so easy, think again. We won't be going down without a fight, so junoliv, get ready for our battle! (Not now, I'll VM you when) |
Quote:
So this means ill be taking on Matt-O |
Quote:
i know u will put up a great fight TAB as would i . i expect nothing less. i was hoping u would pick me as our last battle was great. but i must caution that u must first consult with ur patner before decicding . so if u havent done so please do so . then we can be sure.. |

And since the second round has finally chosen all of the match-ups, Ima do a fun little preview thang! I'll do a small showcase of each of our top 16 battlers.
Ito_Igami vs. MasterUmbreon Ito_Igami has been on and off the battle circuit for a bit, with a surge over the summer, a small time period of not battling, then a big comeback in the Fall. He's the winner of the Viridian City Open on the Champions Tour and he's vying for another title on it as I type this. His last big tournament appearance was the PC Wifi Tournament held over the summer, where a technicality forced him out versus POKEMASTERALEX in the first round. He's come a long way since then, going 3-0 in the first round and storming his way to the #5 seed. MasterUmbreon is a newer face around these parts. While no big tournament results does he have under his belt, he's entered in the ESO and has reached round two: what more could you want? gee, idk, Ryan, how about the title?.. Umbreon racked up 6 wins in round one and was the last official qualifier (and was quite excited about it to boot.) It might be considered an upset if he manages to defeat Ito_Igami, but we can't deny he'll put all he's got into the match and give us a good show. Volkner's Apprentice vs. -Kairyu -Kairyu is new to the competitive scene, often viewing the Quick Battle topic, he's just gotten into his first few tournaments/gyms such as the ESO and the Whirl Cup. A quite good fighter, from what the rumors say, in addition to him going 4-1 in the first round of the tournament. While perhaps a little cocky on some fronts (who isn't nowadays?), he's a force to be reckoned with and would receive another notch on his Poke-belt can he take down the only ESO Coordinator entered this time around. Volkner's Apprentice is extremely shallow for making one of these for himself. Still searching for his 70th win of 2008, VA's come a long way from his n00bcake days of '06 when EV training was just a myth, and even attempting IVs would be catastrophic to the mind. He reached the Semi-Finals in the PC Tournament back in May, and while he lost in the 3rd Round in the following tourney, it was to the eventual champion, Aurafire. It's been a rollercoaster two months on the battle circuit, including only going 3-2 in round one here, he's still sure to give -Kairyu a run for his money. Although -Kairyu managed to grab a win in their only previous encounter (a 1-0 UU victory), he might find things slightly more challenging/surprising this time around. I'll do more later. :P |
Lol...im not that cocky....:p
|
Quote:
|
Nice intros for the battlers. I can't wait to read the rest. And yes, you are extremely shallow for making one for yourself. lol
|
Correct me if I'm wrong. Is it just me or do I continually get called out by TGA?
Meh anyway. Im not sure whom my partner is but If they are a no show may I please choose someone reliable(an active forum user) to be my partner? Also speaking of which. I got in trouble(yea again) and can't play my game for a bit so im just letting you all know my situation and not to boot me.(wierd its like im not meant to finish this tourny.....) I guess I had better break out some new things I was talking about and shot the tournament down no? Quote:
|
Is it too late/early to sign up for Round 3?
I've wanted to enter a tourny, and since I don't suck anymore have improved my skills I might be willing to test my mettle. |
Quote:

Quote:
Alright; could someone remind me when I can sign up? I know I'll forget. =/ |

I appreciate your kind gesture. |
Another idea I had earlier today, folks. Here's a scenario:
You're A and your partner is B. You're challenged by team X/Z. A def. Z 3-0 X def. B 1-0 In that case, team A/B moves on because they have more total Poke-points (11 compared to the other teams' 9.) But what about player X? He did his part, defeating the opponent in an epic battle, but he still gets the short end of the stick by not moving on to round 3. So I'm going to propose two things: 1) We're going to let the two closest competitors in round two (people who win their match, but since their partner lost by a bigger margin, they still can't move on) be alternates for the top 8. We had an issue last time with two of our top 8 falling out, leaving only two groups of 3 which wasn't that fair really. We need a solid third round, so alternates there shall be. 2) I'm going to opt for a vote here. I noticed in Kev's Tag-team tournament he has the rule that when the teams trade match wins, the losers will fight it out in a Tiebreak match. If this is voted for, we'll probably see the better team move on. So in the above scenario, players Z and B would duel to see who's team is truly better. However if we don't, that's fine too, because I understand some people like it the way it is and having the losers duke it out afterward might be kind of risky. I'll put a poll up on the topic and keep it open for 2 weeks (if I can, otherwise just post a vote.) |
My match against MasterUmbreon is scheduled for today so hopefully the results can be posted later on
|
wierd the inactivity is unbearable.....................
|
any more showcases? you have to do all of the members in round 2 XD
|
O.O Whoops. Lol, I'll do some tomorrow, I'm distracted tonight. XD GET CHO BATTLES DONE! :P

I VM'd Mukkamoto so we'll probably battle eventually. |
Matt-O/The American Battler vs. Mukkamoto/junoliv
Matt-O reached the Quarter-Finals (Round 4) of the last PC Wifi Tournament, and it took _Prince_ to stop him. He also finished in Round Three of ESO#1, losing to both our Champion and Finalist, but that wasn't to say he didn't have a great tournament. This time around he's back with a 6-2 record that put him into the team event and now he has a solid partner to boot. I can speak for myself when I say he knows strategy and isn't going to let a powerhouse roll him over. It's safe to predict he'll be starting where he left off last tournament and go even further this time around. The American Battler is somewhat of an unknown commodity around the Battle Stadium's big stages. He's been placed to face aragornbird in Round Two of his first PC Tourney, so there will most certainly be fireworks during that match, especially considering how quickly he qualified for the ESO's team round. Not only that, but he has some serious Extreme Speed pride (just check out that crazy awesome theme, haha.) Based on his comeback (he was down to 1BP after his first match and managed to scrape his way into round two quite nicely) I'd say he's soon to be a higher-up around here, especially if he becomes a little more forum active. :P Junoliv has been battling quite a bit around the Stadium as of late. He's gotten quite a few solid wins under his belt, including (correct me if I'm wrong) a handful of Round Two members here. While not known for his eloquent posts, he makes up for it with some hardcore results. He was the second qualifier into Round 2 here and I'm sure, while taking down Matt/American won't be easy, he's willing to give it everything he's got. Mukkamoto from what I know, is an all-around battler. While he hasn't strung together any impressive win results around here, every time he posts after a match he's good hearted and proud about it, no matter what. I haven't battled him myself to see what he deals in the Poke-deck of cards, (which I guess should happen soon, considering he's my Charizard Academy student XD), but with a solid Round One record as well as an impressive start in the Whirl Cup, it's going to be fun to see what he can do in this round. |
Kanye West/The Graceful Assasin vs. Cowan/Mystery2009
The Graceful Assassin: Our returning champion had an interesting round one to say the least...After an uncharacteristic streak of losses in the very beginning, he recovered from being knocked out after a hack checking clarification, giving him the boost he needed to storm into round two like the champ we know he is. You didn't actually think he was going to go down that easily, did you? Graceful is a fearsome opponent (I should know =P), and his title as the ESO's first champion is well deserved. At 8-5, he has definitely been the most active member of the ESO#2 so far, and will no doubt be hungry for a win against his rival from last tournament. Mystery2009: A solid battler to say the least, Mystery has really made the ESO an entertaining event. He's never at a loss for fighting words, and you better be prepared when you fight him, because he always gives his all. Mystery got through to round two with a wildcard, due in no small part to most of his requests receiving absolutely no attention, but he had a solid with a 3-2 record. Doubt that he deserved his wilcard entry and watch the hell out. He's definitely chomping at the bit to get revenge for last tournament's heart-breaking loss against our first champion, The Graceful Assassin. Kanye West: He entered the first ESO tournament, but remained inactive for round one. Now, he has taken control of the ESO#2 with lighting-fast speed, qualifying for round two the very first day of battling. No battler was able to defeat him in round one, and his confidence definitely shows through as he enters the scroll rounds. A regular over in S&M, he knows his stuff, and is a worthy opponent for any battler. He's looking make up for last tournaments inactivity and prove he has what it takes to be our new champion. Cowan: Still somewhat of an unknown here in PC's Wifi Battler Stadium, she has no doubt drawn a few glances, qualifying for round two with two convincing wins. The ESO#2 crown is no doubt difficult to obtain, but we will soon see if she has what it takes to make it all the way. Her skills will definitely be put to the test in her scroll match against Kanye West. I'll do the last matchups tomorrow ^_____^ |
lost to Matt-O
0-2 took long, sorry Matt, should have given up earlier but i decided to give it a long stall xD |
Confirming my 2-0 win over Mukkamoto. Awesome match. Stall Wars, FTW! I don't think I could have stood for that Vappy-Lax stall war we had going on there for much longer.
|
A win for the team. Nice work, Matt. Now it'll be just me and junoliv... And I still can't believe I'm going up against aragornbird... |
*Is astonished and flattered*
Thanx for the great complement. Funny thing is, this tournament's difficulty will increase 10 fold. We've some "new" faces to the tournament, however they are as skilled as they are intimidating. Simpily put, I can pick your semi finalist right now, and those who reach that point are all in for some intense battles. I'm steeling myself for some difficult battles let the galavaning begin(hmmm did I use that correctly). |
Quote:
Speaking of "going into battle"....Let's get these scroll matches done people! Make sure you're contacting your opponent and setting up a battle time. Meep...I still have to do the last match up! O.O |
Just a note. I check here frequently in hopes of forwarding the tournament. However, either my opponent is elusive or a master of evasion

Lol mo prob with me, i still need to get a special team member from Platinum.
|
well my battle with Mystery should be happening tomorrow...
Postman ( or Kanye whatever you want to call him =P) i think has gotten contact with cowan... arent we still waiting for some other battles as well? |
Quote:
Umm...yes we are waiting for quite a few battles. We only have one done so far, there's still quite a ways to go. It's just a matter of actually talking to your opponent and seeing what times you might be able to catch them on for a battle. Is that so much to ask? ;___; |
Well TAB is never on so.....................................

well thats just nifty...grabbed the wrong ape.......

If my partner never shows up for his battle, will I still move on or will I be out?

It was a GG i beat Mystery 2-0
so now its on Postman, he better win XD |

And congrats Graceful =P |

If you wanna move on, then first you'll need to actually win. Let's go, junoliv! |
Lol, everyone else is having their battles, I cant wait until I have mine.
|
And speaking of battles, I just beat Junoliv 5-0. Matt-O, we're moving to the next Round! |
gg TAB u played better than last time. And i was too nervous from being in a must win situation was sitting on the toilet lol. oh well maybe next time ^_^
|
Quote:
And mega-congrats to Matt and TAB for being the first team into Round Three! You'll each be put into a different Round Robin group, which will be determined by which other teams move through. Also, congrats to Graceful for winning our spotlight match. Mystery, you still have a chance if cowan can beat Kanye 2-0 or more, but otherwise you still played well. As for Kairyu..yeah, it'll definitely be next weekend. XDD |
5-0? That's pretty good, Battler. Congrats for making it to the 3rd Round, and to TGA. Both of you keep it up! |

still have not been able to contact my opponenet

We'll set the deadline for the rest of the matches:
V_A vs. -Kairyu Ito vs. Umbreon aragorn vs. sam2243 Prince vs. desolation For Monday, December 15th as the deadline for at least having your match in planned time. At this point, cowan has been disqualified and TGA/Kanye are into round three. For desolation, I'm pretty sure you're American? Prince is English, so you'll have to coordinate with him to set up a specific time to battle. As for your teammate sam, he's not on for very long periods at a time and hasn't checked in here lately, so I'm not D/Q'ing aragorn because at least aragorn checked in with me to say he's busy until this week. If we don't see him online by Friday, that will open a playoff spot for round three that active people/losers can compete in. We'll see; I dont' want to make too many big decisions on good battlers that are just having busy weeks. |

You must check in each week to let us know your status on completing the matches and that you still plan on competing in the tournament. We D/Q'd tons of round one people as we went on, because they would sign-up for the tournament and then ignore peoples VMs/not report back here. The same goes for the later rounds-unless you specifically tell us, like aragorn did, that you won't be online for a certain amount of time. Unfortunately, he told me he'd be back this week, so if he doesn't report by Saturday, I'll have to D/Q quite a few people (that goes for sam2243 as well, because he logs in every day for like 5 minutes, then leaves without attempting to contact his opponents.) I suppose if cowan shows up saying (in actual words and not n00bsp34k) that she still wants to battle Kanye, that's fine, but for now we're saying Kanye is through and on Friday that will become official. |
