Since Greg ignored you Kitty, I'll answer :P

The main Extreme Speed Open tournament is a unique and awesome new type of tourney system that avoids your standard bracket challenge. If you'd like to reserve a place for tourney #2 you can experience first hand how our tournament is so different ;) Also, you can check out the front post for rules about how round one of our system works, which'll prepare you for the future.

The Extreme Speed Champions Tour is a series of regular bracket tournaments that you compete in for prizes, ranking points, and the chance to compete in the season end Championships where the top eight singles, doubles, and UU competitors duke it out for the title of Extreme Champion.

Well that would most certainly be an issue >_< However, the tour goes on for quite some time, you can hop into any tournament you'd like if you get your DS fixed.

The Graceful Assassin September 20th, 2008 5:26 PM

i decided i will be battling World King, we were having our battle i was winning 5-3 but of course there was a communication error -_-

oh well looks like we are going to have to have a new battle. Im still waiting for World King to respond after the error happened.

World King September 20th, 2008 6:19 PM

Sorry for that. I'm ready to finish it whenever possible.

Matt-O September 20th, 2008 6:29 PM

Aura beat me, so that means I'm out of this tourney. The match was 1-friggin-0.

Volkner's Apprentice September 20th, 2008 6:41 PM

Snap. Sounds like it was very epic. Coming back from 1-4 down..Holy Hoppips batman...

Well guys that makes the final score for the Red Group:

Mystery2009: 10
Matt-O: 8
Aura: 12

Meaning the Semi-finals will be:

(G1) Aurasphere vs. Red Group #2

(G2) Mystery2009 vs. Red Group #1

Matt-O, you did great and stuck with us through the slow points of this tournament, especially when you're partner couldn't help you into this round. Then you produced two great matches, I'd say that's an epic first tournament. You'll still receive a prize for your efforts. For a consolation 5th place match, you'll be dueling the bottom placer in the Red Group.

World King September 20th, 2008 6:51 PM

Wow. I need to pay more attention to the match-ups. I thought I was in the Gold one. Sorry for that. *deletes post*

Mystery2009 September 20th, 2008 7:09 PM

Here's a heads up notice to people about something new i've tacked on as bonuses for doing well in the ESO!

If you haven't already noticed, we've set up an extension type of thing with the Extreme Speed Champions Tour! In the Tour, you can jump into smaller, quicker, standard bracket tournaments at multiple points during a month. This way, if you've already qualified for the next round here, you can chill out by grabbing a slot in the Tour tourneys.

Here's my little addition to doing well here! The Tour has a system of ranking points for each tournament. Since this is Extreme Speed as well, I thought, why not offer points here too? That way, the better battlers can get safer draws to latter rounds of the Tour tournaments and have a jump on qualifying for the Championships on the circuit.

ESO Points Received
2nd Round (Teams): 50 pts.
Middle Round (Just for this ESO because we had a bunch of dropouts/test trials, etc.): 75 pts. (those who were considered 7th/8th place.)
3rd Round (R-Robin): 100 pts.
Semi-Finals: 150 pts.
Finals: 250 pts.
Winner: 400 pts.

For each of you who participated here, your round will determine how many points you get and those will transfer over to the Tour. A higher amount of points means a higher rank, and over on the Tour for those mini-tournaments (for any of them larger than eight entrants) we'll do seedings so that the better battlers won't face each other in early rounds. Also gives room for some upsets! But in the mini ones with only eight, you're at the mercy of the draw ;)

Anyway, here's the catch. After this Extreme Speed ends, your points will be put over on the Tour rankings. HOWEVER, once the second main ESO finishes, your points will be replaced by however well you did in the second tourney. This gives people opportunities to gain points and defend their positions. That's all for now! Let's hustle and finish those matches, Red Group. Hopefully Bendak logs on in the next few days so I don't have to DQ him...

Wait what thread got closed? battle threads?

Volkner's Apprentice September 21st, 2008 9:58 AM

Now we're just waiting on Gold Group, mostly Bendak ;)

I'm sure Grace/Lugia will finish their match today which will be good.

The Graceful Assassin September 21st, 2008 2:52 PM

This is a random question but how are we going to receive prizes if the prize giver Pokemasteralex is inactive?

Volkner's Apprentice September 21st, 2008 3:02 PM

Alex will be active when I tell him to be :P I can communicate with him to find a time to log in. He's been busy with school but he has access to wifi both at his school's library and when he comes home.

Not to worry, everyone will receive their prizes.

Bendak September 21st, 2008 5:26 PM

Yea im here, can someone fill me in real quick via pm whats been going on?

oh and times im available are weeknights (anytime after 3:30pm) and weekends. Its just that I try to divide my time between a lotta stuff but my schedule isnt TOO busy.

Volkner's Apprentice September 21st, 2008 5:45 PM

Yesss, I want to know who I battle =P. This should be an epic finish!

Volkner's Apprentice September 23rd, 2008 9:12 PM

Well the time limit for these matches is technically still Friday, October 3rd I do believe, but if you haven't checked we're the Extreme Speed Open ;).

Same deal though, no rush guys, we'd just like to move things along nice and quick.

Bendak vs. The Graceful Assassin
World King's Lugia vs. The Graceful Assassin
Bendak vs. World King's Lugia

Try to schedule particular times this week/weekend to finish your matches, guys. :mudkip^_^:

Aurafire September 25th, 2008 9:57 AM

Keep in mind everyone (Those who are still battling and those who are interested in joining), We can start ESO #2 right after we get the semifinal pairings up. We'll put a big alert up on the first post to let you know that sign-ups are in progress. Realistically, we're shooting for at least 50 entrants (We had 32 at the beginning of this tournament), but the more the better! We're not going to cap it, because our battling system really doesn't require a limit on number of battlers, and honestly, it makes the tournament a whole lot better. So keep checking on folks, sign ups will be starting soon!

Volkner's Apprentice September 26th, 2008 5:35 PM

With the weekend here, let's kick it into drive, Gold Group. SCHEDULE A SPECIFIC TIME FOR YOUR MATCHES AND GET THEM FINISHED. We've had you all post your schedules for battling which was good, but since you guys all sign on at different times that probably signals time zone issues. Make sure you compensate for your opponents time zone this weekend.

The Graceful Assassin September 27th, 2008 7:38 AM

ok ill be checking in all day today so my battles should get done.

Good stuff. That means if we wrap up round three, we can start the semi-finals and sign ups for ESO #2 =P

World King September 27th, 2008 11:57 AM

I'll also be checking in to get my Battles done.

And I just did my Battle with The Graceful Assasin: 4-0! Pretty nice PWNing, for today!
