Run Before You Walk - Sweeper RMT
Introduction:
__________ With everyone and his dog making sweeper teams these days, I thought I might throw my hand in the ring. As is the style of sweeper teams, mine revolves around switching through resistences and overpowering the opponent. Overview: __________ http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpmfa/dpmfa145.pnghttp://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpmfa/dpmfa245.pnghttp://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpmfa/dpmfa373.pnghttp://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpmfa/dpmfa130.pnghttp://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpmfa/dpmfa143.pnghttp://www.psypokes.com/dex/picdex/pd/386c_1.png The Team: __________ http://www.arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/zapdos.png [email protected] Scarf Modest 112 HP, 252 Sp. Atk, 144 Spd U-Turn Thunderbolt Hidden Power ICE Extrasensory One of my more favourite leads currently. U-Turn shows me their Zapdos counter and gives me the advantage from the outset, Thunderbolt for STAB and Gyarados, HP ICE for Salamence leads and for later revenging Garchomp, while Extrasensory hits Gengar and Roserade mainly, but also lets me revenge kill fighting types like Machamp and Infernape. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ http://www.arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/suicune.png [email protected] Bold 252 HP, 120 Def, 136 Sp. Atk Calm Mind Surf Ice Beam Substitute After seeing it in Vance's RMT, I decided to try this out. Still bulky as hell, but can now do significant damage back. Substitute can help in stalls vs Blissey, as Suicune acheives 101 HP subs with the above EV spread. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ http://www.arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/salamence.png [email protected] Orb Jolly 252 HP, 40 Atk, 136 Def, 76 Spd Wish Dragon Dance Dragon Claw Earthquake Life Orb WishMence. Because this is a sweeper team, I thought I could do with some Wish support. Wish also helps keep Salamence alive if I decide to try and sweep with it. Life Orb gives it's attacks that extra bite. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ http://www.arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/gyarados.png [email protected] Orb Adamant 6 HP, 252 Atk, 252 Spd Dragon Dance Waterfall Ice Fang Stone Edge Life Orb Dragon Dance Gyarados is an absolute beast of a pokemon. Ice Fang gets me past Celebi if it's below 75%, or without Reflect/Thunder Wave. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ http://www.arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/snorlax.png [email protected] Band Careful 244 HP, 72 Atk, 192 Sp. Def Thick Fat Selfdestruct Body Slam Earthquake Crunch Choice Band Snorlax >> CurseLax. I've given it some extra attack just cause I feel like it. Selfdestruct leaves it's indent when Snorlax is finished, or when I need to overcome a troubling pokemon. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ http://www.arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/deoxyse.png [email protected] Orb Naive 160 Atk, 236 Sp. Atk, 112 Spd Psychic Thunderbolt Ice Beam Superpower Standard Deoxys-E sweeper. Psychic is superior over Shadow Ball IMO, and is better for revenge killing. Shadow Ball does pitiful damage to Cresselia anyway, while Shadow Sneak Dusknoir beats Deoxys 1 on 1 anyway. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Ok, so looking for decent rates only please. As is always the case, others can see mistakes where you cannot yourself, so that is why I submit this to my fellow S&M raters, hopefully to improve it. Regards, ~T_S |
Used that Suicune on the presidents team...it absolutely rapes everything lol
Looks pretty solid, just watch out as half of your team is stealth rock weak. |

I always liked Psychic > Shadow Ball too...Psychic gets STAB, pairs well with Superpower in terms of general coverage (Darks eat Superpower)
This a massively chaotic team when you predict well, but it's strongly reliant on yourself T_S. If they set up Stealth Rock, it's going to be troublesome. |
I'm thinking about the viability of Aqua Tail over Waterfall on Gyarados, and considering HP ELEC over Substitute on Suicune. Thoughts?
Also, I know I'm rather SR weak, and unfortunately Zappy doesn't really halt common SR leads like Bronzong, thoughts? I don't want to change the team too much, Zappy out for possibly Scarftran seems ok I suppose... ~T_S |

I'd rather go with Waterfall >>> Aqua Tail. The flinch chance, and the 100 accuracy make up for the measly loss of 10 base power (15 after STAB)
Suicune needs Sub, or else it wouldn't be a SubCMer. If it's CM/Ice Beam/Surf/HP Electric it cannot beat Blissey, which is kind of sad since it's part of a group intended to kill that fat pink blob. Believe me, Vaporeon will not be getting past Suicune with an Ice Beam on it's hands. HP Electric isn't absolutely necessary, since Gyara takes mono damage from IB. Excellent RMT overall, and it it isn't Scarftran weak like 99% other offensive teams, well done. |
A really great team! The only pity is that Zapdos doesn't learn Air Slash. I also liked the images of the pokemon, Gyarados looks really good here. Where did you get them?
