Any cheating device has a risk attached to it. Basically, you're doing something to the game which normally shouldn't be allowed, possibly leading to all sorts of glitches. I personally don't like cheating, not just because of the risks, but because I like the challenge of actually playing the game rather than cheating (and it's just boring if you could do anything you wanted with no consequences).
My coupla coins on the issue |
Look, if your using a system that uses cartridges(spelling error?) then you probably have a bigger risk than that of a system that uses disks.
I really wouldn't recommend a gameshark or any other cheating device however thats not to say if I had one I wouldn't use it. Just know that there is a risk to using device as such. |
You only run the risk of messing your save files or incountering glitches while the codes are active. Cheat Devices cannot permanently change any data in the actual game though (cartridges or discs), just save files and things currently happening. You cannot screw up a cartridge's data unless you dump it to a comuter and change or it take a screwdriver/hammer and whack the chips until they're little pieces. :p

The enhancement device works on the level of the RAM. So technically speaking, whenever you're using an enhancement device, it would be similar to running the missingNo. glitch on a pokemon game. With this said, the chances of screwing a game up permanently is very low.
btw, if you entered a code wrong (chances are you'll cause glitches), usually it wouldn't pose too much of a problem as long as you don't save or anything. |
