Question?

Can you trade your Pokemon from silver or gold to fire red etc....?

sanny the hedgehog August 22nd, 2008 2:14 PM

nope gbc and gba pokemon games dont work with each other, why do you ask?

alisaie August 23rd, 2008 12:59 AM

No. Because of the change from IVs to EVs, you can't trade pokemon. If you want any of the pokemon on your FR or LG, you'll have to find some other way to get it. :/

It's not possible to trade from those two generations, but you can trade from Y->R->B and G->S->C

What are the names of those games?

1st generation colour games can be traded to 2nd generation and vice versa.
But they cannot be traded to 3rd Generation games+, You have to catch them yourself, Use a cheat device or trade on the 3rd-4th generation games.

The names of the games from the Gameboy and Gameboy Color are:
Red
Blue
Yellow
Green(I think it's the japanese version of Yellow, but I'm not sure)
Silver
Gold
Crystal

Also, in these games you can't trade with pokemon games from other countries.

Demeter August 23rd, 2008 1:41 PM

Green was actually paired with Red in Japan. The Japanese version of Yellow is Yellow.

Oh, my brother said it was yellow

And a little add on to what I said. On Youtube I saw a video where someone used cheats to trade with a japanese version and their game got pretty messed up, I saw it about a year ago so I don't really remember how. . .

Haha no, that would be crazy if you could though. lol XD

No, that is out of the ordinary, the only possible way is by Action Replay to get ANY pokemon! but most of the Johto pokemon are in Firered Leafgreen after you get the National Dex!

Thanks for reviving an almost month old thread -_-'

None the less, you can't trade Pokemon from the second generation into the first generation games. The game explains it that those Pokemon from the second generation didn't exist in the past, so the computer would blow up or something.

Raise your Pokemon properly, and match the type weaknesses. Not really much more to explain.

Search the internet for a walkthrough, since that'll help too. I'm actually in the process of writing my own walkthrough for Gold and Silver (sorry, Crystal doesn't apply yet. ^_^), but it won't be done for a while, since I'm a slow writer and stuff. Plus I'm lazy. xD

That's about all there is to explain, really.

You can trade between the two generations, you just can't trade a Pokemon that didn't exist in RBY (like Cyndquil). You also can't trade a Pokemon, like Pikachu (which is in RBY), if it knows a GSC-exclusive move.

No, you're supposed to use the time machine(why do you think it's there, just to glare at you and waste your time!?!?)
When you go to the time machine, you only can bring the first 151 pokemon and none can have new moves, you also can't bring pokemon eggs.
If Nurse Joy still won't let you in, then it probably means that you haven't gotten far enough in the game(it's supposed to not work in the beginning of the game), and if you play the girl character, don't worry, you'll change to a boy as you're walking in.
