Fire/sun OU team, needs help

Well, I'm getting bored with my light team, so I decided since I have so much fun being different using Fire in ubers, why not try it in OU? Anyway, here are the sketches of my fire/sunny day, u get the idea, team. However, I really do need some help, as it just stinks now.

Typhlosion @ Choice Scarf
144 Atk, 252 Sp. Atk, 112 speed
Rash
Eruption
Earthquake
Overheat
Will-O-Wisp

Standard Choice Scarf Typhlosion. Theoretically it does hit things hard, but it doesn't take so much predicition skill on the opposing side to know I'm gunna use eruption.

Heatran @ Choice Specs
40 Hp, 252 Sp. Atk, 216 speed
Modest
Dragon Pulse
Fire Blast
Explosion
Earth Power

Base 130 sp.atk+sunny day+STAB+Choice Specs Fire Blast is insanely powerful. Dragon Pulse handles dragons, Earth Power gives good coverage, and explosion for last resort.

Infernape @ Life Orb
24 Atk, 252 Sp. Atk, 232 speed
Naive
Close Combat
Flamethrower
HP Ice
Grass Knot

Good ol' all-out mix-ape. It's not to be taken lightly

http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/dp/470.png
Tangrowth @ Heat Rock (chlorophyll)
4 Hp, 252 Sp.atk, 252 speed
HP Fire
Sleep Powder
Solarbeam
Sunny Day

My main sunny day caster. Solarbeam for STAB, and HP Fire for other things. Sleep powder for other stuff.

http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/dp/493.png
Cresselia @ Leftovers
20 HP, 252 Def, 236 Sp Atk
Modest
Reflect
Moonlight
Sunny Day
Psychic

My back up sunny day caster+ a physical wall. Moonlight heals a lot with sunlight.

http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/dp/257.png
Blaziken @ Salac Berry
252 Atk, 4 Def, 252 Speed
Jolly
Fire Punch
Reversal
Substitute
Swords Dance

Use substitute+swords dance till salac activates. Reversal hits really hard, and fire punch hits other things.

Well, there you have it....its awful right? I think my teams problem is that its fragile, and is also pretty slow. I just made it like an hr ago for shoddy, and once I perfect it with you guy's help, I might make this for wi-fi.

Okay, simple enough.

2HKOs Bliss with Specs, Sunny Day, and Fire Blast if I remember.

Nasty Plot/Grass Knot

Mix-ape with nasty plot. Its pretty self-explanitory.

With all of the fire going around, you could try all-out MixApe and throw in Grass Knot because you'll need all of the coverage possible. Also, 232 speed, not 252.

Tangrowth @ Heat Rock (chlorophyll)

With the insane amounts of Sandstorm and some Hail running about, Solarbeam isn't a great option IMO. You could opt for Grass Knot instead

Be wary of the fact that MixApe slaughters this. You might have to drop something for Psychic.

I'm guessing your HP will drop to 1 after 4 Subs? This thing is insanely powerful, especially if you pull off that Swords Dance.

Well, there you have it....its awful right? I think my teams problem is that its fragile, and is also pretty slow. I just made it like an hr ago for shoddy, and once I perfect it with you guy's help, I might make this for wi-fi.

The lack of a Rock resist hurts badly, so watch out for Tyranitar and other hard-hitting Rock-types. Tangrowth can Sunny Day and come in on a DD (if it's that variant), then put it to Sleep since you'll be faster unless it Dragon Dances again.

For a weather team, this isn't bad, but you might wanna drop one of your fire types for a sturdy Ground-type to take on things like Tyranitar, and it would also lose a water weakness due to Sunny Day.

Also, MixApe massacres this unless you give Cresselia Psychic.

MM_Zero August 24th, 2008 11:47 AM

which ground type would you recommend? I was gunna go with chomp>ape at first, but chomp is prolly gunna get banned soon =/. I was also thinking hippowdon, but his ability really hinders my team's sunlight.

I know a lot of people say it fails, but a Swords Dance Rhyperior might do you some good here, or you can go with the defensive version. It's one of the best Tyranitar counters around as well. Just keep it from special attacks, which your team has trouble absorbing. You could also try physical Swampert without Waterfall as well (Sleep Talk)
