Haza August 24th, 2008 1:44 PM

Toxicroak cant handle half of what Lucario can. I like Toxicroak but in battling Lucario is better. I will post my favorite moveset for Lucario in a minute
Lucario @Choice Band
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
Ability: Steadfast
-Close Combat
-Crunch
-Stone-Edge
-Blaze Kick/Bullet Punch/Extremespeed

True Justice August 24th, 2008 1:46 PM

Lucario by a long shot.
Stats:
HP 70
At 110
Def 70
SAt 115
SDef 70
Spd 90

Toxicroak
HP 83
At 106
Def 65
SAt 86
SDef 65
Spd 85

Lucario beats Toxicroak in 5 out of 6 stats, Toxicroak's Poison attacks can't touch Lucario and Lucario's Steel protects it from many types (Normal, Steel, Poison, Psychic becomes normal damage, and Rock) and has more type coverage. Plus, Lucario makes a mean Special Sweeper.

EDIT: Sorry, forgot the moveset.
Smogon never lets us down XD

Lucario @Choice Specs
EV: 4 Def/ 252 SpA/ 252 Spd
Ability: Steadfast
Nature: Modest
~ Aura Sphere
~ Vacuum Wave
~ Dark Pulse/ Shadow Ball
~ Hidden Power Ice

Depends on your team.

If you're using a Rain Dance team, Toxicroak is the way to go.

If not, 'Cario is the way to go, he can beat down the Ever so common T-tar with a STAB Aura Sphere or Close Combat.

Aurafire August 24th, 2008 3:15 PM

Lucario by a long shot by reasons already mentioned above =)

Skaterzpenguin August 24th, 2008 4:21 PM

Lucario, because it can learn psychic which has the advantage over toxicroak. =]

I don't think he was talking about them facing each other. But yes, Lucario has the advantage once again.

Lucario is way way way way way way way way WAY better. He's so superior, I can't even begin. I'll leave you with this:

Lucario @ Life Orb
Adamant
252 Att/252 Spe/6 HP
Close Combat
Swords Dance
Crunch
HP Ice/Extremespeed/Bullett Punch

Lucario by far.

My favorite moves of his are

Aura Sphere
Close Combat
Vaccuum Wave
Bullet Punch

Mystery2009 August 24th, 2008 6:21 PM

you have to ask? lucario because it scares lil kids and keeps them from playing(with the destructive set vance mentioned)

IsTonDialo August 25th, 2008 2:02 AM

I think Lucario is better than Toxicroak.
Item:Life Orb
Ability:Inner Focus
Nature:Adamant
Moveset:Close Combat
Swords Dance
ExtremeSpeed
Crunch/Stone Edge.
I hope i helped.

Walrein August 25th, 2008 4:26 AM

toxicroak or lucario
That's not even a comparison.

Moist Bander August 25th, 2008 4:32 PM

Lucario has less resistances, but it's base stats are better:

Lucario:
70/110/70/115/70/90
Toxicroak:
83/106/65/86/65/81

As you can see, Lucario is obviously the better choice. It gets close combat, extreme speed, aura sphere, swords dance, etc. while Toxicroak gets suckerpunch, poison jab, etc. Lucario can also be a huge mix sweeping threat.

What exactly is Toxicroak going to be resisting? It's too fragile to be taking many hits, so the Typing isn't a huge help.

I didn't necessarily mean Toxicroak resists everything, but I meant it can help quite a bit on switch-ins. It resists most physical attacks (Bug, Fighting, Dark and Rock).

Dragon Dance August 25th, 2008 4:56 PM

lucario wins cause toxicroak is cool but stats :(

Xebelleon August 25th, 2008 11:07 PM

Lucario for the win!
And Smeargle is his daddy!
*cheers*

Lucario @ Inner Focus
Life Orb / Expert Belt
Jolly / Adamant
~Swords Dance
~Bullet Punch (Frosslass, STAB, Weavile)
~Blaze Kick (steels, Weavile, Heracross, Frosslass, critical hit)
~Bite / Rock Tomb (ghosts, flinch, or speed boost; choose wisely)

I'm trying these guys out right now in PBR. Seems successful in PBR at least.

Thoughts?

Am I going to be the only one to vouch for my man toxicroak?? Under the rain I'd say Toxicroak is a way better choice than Lucario. He absorbs water on the switch in, how's that for a resistance, AND under rain he gains back the HP he would have lost from life orb (which is a given to attach). Also with moves like sucker punch and Cross Chop he can be devastating to an unprepared team. Of course, this is all with rain support.

I suppose under normal conditions Lucario is the way to go. But then again, it is all about the rest of the team. There may be a third pokemon which could suit your team way better than these combined.

LethalTexture August 26th, 2008 11:16 AM

S&M I'm thinking?

*moves*

Dark Azelf August 26th, 2008 11:25 AM

Each has their pros and cons and its up to you to decide which fits better on your team really.
