That's not lead Tar. This is lead Tar.

[email protected] Berry
Sassy, 3 Speed IVs
240 HP/36 atk/48 Def/184 sp.def

Taunt/Substitute
Crunch
Fire Punch
Thunder

401 HP and 310 Special Defense + Sandstorm allow Tyranitar to survive a 359 Special Attack Life Orb Gengar's Focus Blast over 97% of the time. 401 HP and 268 Defense allow Tyranitar to survive a Waterfall from a 383 Attack Choice Band Gyarados on average. The 117 Speed is designed to minimize the damage Bronzong can do with Gyro Ball. With Tyranitar at 117 Speed, Bronzong's Gyro Ball will have a maximum power of 47, enough to never 4HKO this Tyranitar (assuming Bronzong has minimum Attack). Even if Bronzong runs 252 Attack EVs and Adamant nature, a 3HKO is only made possible if it manages to get maximum damage all three times, a highly unlikely scenario. (copied from Smogon)

Metagross @ Choice Band
Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 244 Atk / 12 Def
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Explosion
- Meteor Mash
- Thunderpunch

CBgross (Shiny ^-^) Thunderpunch to stop water from walling it

Nice; CBGross is a terror. Explosion nearly OHKOs Skarmory.

Starmie @ Leftover
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Timid Nature
- Ice Beam
- Recover
- Surf
- Thunderbolt

Fairly basic Starmie Special Sweeper

Alright, fair enough.

Togekiss @ Leftovers / Life Orb
EVs: 252 HP / 44 SAtk / 212 SDef
Modest Nature
- Air Slash
- Aura Sphere
- Thunder Wave
- Roost

Togekiss for a special wall

Togekiss can't special wall, but it can tank some unboosted special hits. Still, it's a good supporter, although somewhat hax reliant.

Dusknoir @ Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 6 SDef
Impish Nature
- Ice punch/Thunderpunch/Shadow Sneak
- fire punch
- Pain Split
- Will-o-wisp

Tank. Will-o-wisp for burn. Ice and Fire punch for coverage and Destiny bond for a last resort

Ew, Destiny Bond is horrid on Dusknoir since it's too slow to actually take advantage of it, and can easily be stalled out. Ice Punch is iffy.

Moltres @ Life Orb/Heat Rock
EVs: 4 Def/ 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Flamethrower
- Sunny Day
- Solarbeam
- Hidden Power Fighting or Ice/Will-O-Wisp

Sunny day to raise Flamethrower, and for Solarbeam

This with Tyranitar doesn't pair well, nor with your team. You're boosting MixApe's potential to mess you up, restricting Starmie's Surf, and basically ensuring Metagross' death to a fire move. Try the Stall set or Specs. However, must you stick with this, I put the 4 EVs in defense to make the HP an odd number, meaning you can come in on Stealth Rock twice and live, barring Sandstorm.

The team lacks some synergy and the lack of a main special wall hurts...SpecsMence can potentially roll over this team. Also, with Moltres, you MUST make sure they don't get Stealth Rock up. It also doesn't team well with Tyranitar.

I'll let a better rater pick up from my spot, but my info can also be taken into thought.

What do you mean by the stall set or specs?

He means the Choice Specs set for Moltres. (And for Salamence as well.) http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/moltres Third set = Choice Specs. Second = Stall set.

Also, Moltres is horrid without Rapid Spin. :D

Ok thanks :) although im starting to get a feeling i should just ditch moltres all together so what would be a good replacement?

The Hero Without a Name August 25th, 2008 2:46 PM

Togekiss would be an okay-ish wall, but he's weak to BoltBeam. Not to mention Blissey outclasses him there entirely.

If you're going to use Toggy, use him either as a bulky NP sweeper, paraflincher, NP/sub BPer, etc

Replacing Togekiss and Moltres with:

Togekiss @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
252 HP / 6 Def / 252 SpD
Nature: Calm
~ Body Slam / Thunder Wave
~ Air Slash
~ Roost
~ Aura Sphere / Nasty Plot / Substitute

And

Blissey @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
252 Def / 80 SpA / 176 SpD
Nature: Calm
~ Wish
~ Protect / Softboiled
~ Flamethrower / Ice Beam
~ Toxic

Would be a better choice?
