RMT - On the Offensive

As you can see from the title this is an offensive team. They are currently what works the best and this team has been bringing me up on the ladder. Please read the rules before you read it and remember that this team is for the suspect ladder. If you ask me to add a Wall to the team I will ignore you. As I said earlier this is an offensive team.

Yanmega (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 SpAtk/106 Def/152 Spd
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Bug Buzz
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Hypnosis
- Protect

Thanks to Dark Azelf for the idea of HP Ground, it really helps for Magnezone and Heatran., it works really well because no-one expects it. It also adds more coverage. The rest of the set goes; I Protect for gained Speed, I Hypnosis the Yanmega Counter they switched in, then I procede to kill whatever they send out that doesn't know I have HP Ground.
---
Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 216 HP/18 Atk/132 Def/144 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Waterfall
- Taunt
- Dragon Dance

This Gyara has the Bulky EV spread from Smogon. I am still deciding on weather or not to go with EQ, SE, or Ice Fang in the first slot. Dragon Dance is for obvious reasons.
---
Heatran (F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Fire Blast
- Stealth rock

Just a normal ScarfTran, expect one difference. I decided to run SR thanks to Dark Azelf's advice as well as Timid, I have yet to test those changes.
---
Azelf @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 38 Def/220 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Explosion
- Flamethrower
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Psychic

Azelf always has a spot on my teams. It is just an amazing Special sweeper with an amazing attack as well with Explosion to back it up. Obviously it has Explosion, Psychic, and Flamethrower, but I chose HP Fighting over Grass Knot because I gets Tryraniter, who normally expects to set upon me.
---
Lucario (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Swords Dance
- Extremespeed

This is a standard Lucario with SD. The Adamant nature is so that I can be more powerful. I am still deciding between SE and Crunch.
---
Metagross @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk/6 Def/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Meteor Mash
- Thunderpunch
- Ice Punch

I recently added this guy. he is really a Surprise revenge killer. No one expects him to pack 393 speed and he can outspeed and kill a Bulky Gyara after a DD. He is supported by Gyara because Gyara can always switch in on Fire attacks and evil EQs. Ice Punch is thanks to Dark Azelf again.
---
Other Comments:
-As you can see my team has three ground weaknesses but please notice that the other three members are flying types or have levitate.

Yanmega (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Sp.Att/106 Def/152 Speed
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)

You want to ev the sp.att, not att and i would just max speed tbh.I also like HP Ground on this dude aswell, but ill leave that up to you.

Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 216 HP/18 Atk/132 Def/144 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake / Stone Edge / Ice Fang
- Waterfall
- Taunt
- Dragon Dance

Without dragon dance, this sucks even more =/ and you have to choose for the attack accompanying Waterfall
---
Heatran (F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Fire Blast
- Stealth Rock

Dark Pulse is an epic waste of space on this, STAB Fire Blast hits things HARDER than a super effective dark pulse.

Last slot can be used for support, which this team lacks, aka stealth rock.

Use a + speed nature, i find it works better.

Azelf @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 38 Def/220 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)

- Flamethrower

k.

Lucario (M) @ Life Orb

EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge / Crunch
- Swords Dance
- Extremespeed

Ok, but you do realize that Jirachi, Metagross get OHKO'd by a Close Combat after an SD right ?. Blaze Kick is another epic waste of a move.

Use + att nature, i tried to use a + speed all out attacking variant, and to be quite honest it sucked and couldn't ko anything.

Also do you really need to outspeed other Lucarios ? When you have like Scarf meta, Bulky Gyara and scarf tran, all capable of revenging or defeating it =/.

Use crunch if you fear celebi so much.

Metagross @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk/6 Def/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Meteor Mash
- Thunderpunch
- Ice Punch / Explosion

Aerial Ace is poop.

Comments in bold.

It looks ok actually.

Crazed_One August 31st, 2008 6:14 AM

Thank you for the advice, I think I will use all of it actually, and what do you suggest for Gyarados's support attack? I think I will use SR on Heatran as well. My changes to the team will be in bold. Wow, Yanmega had attack EVs... I never knew, wow, thank you! Yanmegas extra Speed EVs go to waist in my opinion and the defense EVs really help.

No Air Slash = Fail. Yanmega NEEDS Air Slash or else Heracross just says hi. I noticed that on ABYAY's, you said Hypnosis would be for Hera...Ummm, that's just plain stupid, no offense. Sleeping Hera is a BAD idea. If it has Sleep Talk, it gets a free CB boost in a sense. Put Air Slash over either Hypnosis or Protect. Using both is redundant.

Crazed_One August 31st, 2008 11:48 AM

I don't understand how using both is redundant, you use Protect for a speed boost, then you put them to sleep. Hp Ground counters Heatran and Magnezone, and isn't expected, which I find more useful than an Expected Air Slash to Herra, which I havn't seen all week.

. August 31st, 2008 11:54 AM

Just because you haven't seen it all week doesn't mean it doesn exist. Being the 24th most use Poke isn't uncommon.

sims796 August 31st, 2008 12:18 PM

Yanmega is walled sooooooo easily when you DON'T USE AIR SLASH. Hell, Gyarados walls that Yanmega.

Archer August 31st, 2008 2:19 PM

Air Slash would be best over protect. If you can't cope with that, then try it over hypnosis. I have seen it run with Air Slash over the hidden power and its ok...

Crazed_One August 31st, 2008 4:53 PM

Yanmega already gets walled by so many pokemon, adding HP Ground stops many of those pokemon. Thats why I am not going to add Air Slash over HP Ground, I will try it over Protect though.
