I drive like a maniac, so no problem there. As for the crash test, not going to do that personally.

I have had two SOHC Neons before, and they are great cars that have a little get up and go, easy on gas, and just a joy to drive.

22sa November 1st, 2008 10:17 AM

A maniac? What do you mean? How do you attack corners? How much do you speed? :P Give me details! <3

I will not admit anything that could be used in a court of law.

(I have done 100mph in every car that I have owned except the first one, and only because that car would not go faster than 92. The car I have driven the fastest in was a Neon.)

by maniac I mean taking corners at 30mph (uh 60ish KMh), gunning it on green, waiting till the last second, then come to a screeching halt at the stop sign.

I very rarely get passed on the interstate.

22sa November 1st, 2008 3:02 PM

Me too, except I don't do the super fast turns, acc, and braking, because they wear down the tires too much (not something I can afford)

How do you manage your tires with that kind of in city handling?

Voltagenic November 1st, 2008 4:35 PM

Buoysel, I'll make sure to pass you in my Challenger =P

(i'm too young to drive, but when i can, lol)

Also, Buoysel, does your Neon look anything like this:

http://www.dragtimes.com/images/1102258223mert66.jpg

22sa November 1st, 2008 4:54 PM

but I'll pass both of you while cornering in my CRX

Buoysel November 17th, 2008 9:58 AM

I started driving my neon today.

It took me 37 dollars to register it until February. That’s when everyone in the state of Kansas whose last name begins with an "A" has to renew there registration.

It took 23 dollars to fill it up with premium gas.

What is the price of Gas in your neighborhood?

$1.85 a gallon for the cheap stuff, and 2.05 for 91 octane.

Voltagenic December 10th, 2008 2:51 PM

lol expensive.

$1.49 for regular.

Mine's a four door, but pretty much.

This is my car exactly, except my car sport written on it, and has tinted windows. The hub caps are even the same, well this one is nicer.

Just when I though it was about to die. :D Thanks for saving it.

And now gas is down to 1.45 for regular.

22sa December 10th, 2008 6:41 PM

So I wanted to rent a car, but all that was available were automatics.

I can't even find a manual car at car rentals....

I love winter driving. What's better then drifting without suffering tire-wear! :P

Gas is like $0.85 per liter here o_O

That's pricey.

Want to know why you can't rent a manual transmission? Ever heard of the Rent-A-Car-Nationals? Read entire article (It's has a funny ending.)

What do you think of the '09 Dodge Ram?

(If you don't know what all the hype is about, watch the video on my profile.)

But personally, I love it, and wish I had enough money to buy it.

Voltagenic December 11th, 2008 1:51 PM

Me?

I EFFING LOVE THE NEW RAM!

I want one! Coolest feature is the WIRELESS INTERNETS in the truck!

I didn't catch any explanation in that article of why I can't rent manuals.

I don't like trucks generally speaking. I expect the RAM to be comfortable though.

Because people would abuse them. Speaking of abuse; I blew the doors off of a Geo Storm tonight, by at least 4 car lengths.

lol geo storm.

you street race?

22sa December 13th, 2008 4:52 PM

lmao @ street racer usertitle.

I had fun drifting today. Sort of. Speed too low, but I still did some small drifts.

Try gravel roads, easer to brake the tires loose. My hand brake isn't that strong. T_T

Quote:

No. :paranoid:

The guy was like: "my car is so quick, your car don't stand a chance."

I showed him. :D

And now that it is day light, It was probably closer to 8, but that is still a high guess. (maybe 6)

22sa December 13th, 2008 5:18 PM

My handbrake isn't strong either, but it can still be locked if I pull hard enough.

Dude, gravel kills the car's bottom, so I can't... I think wearing down the tires is even safer then that.

But rest assured, our street's are all ice and snow right now. Better then gravel ;)

First time I ever drifted was on ice, and it was total Accidental , Been hooked ever since then.

Gravel roads don't kill the bottom. D:

I've lived on a gravel road most of my life, I've done 80 MPH on gravel. It's not as bad as you think. the dust does make your car dirty, but the bottom of your car is made of metal for a reason.

I guess you have a point...

lol how fast were you going? I got in a bit of trouble too first time, but that was cuz I was going 100 km/h @[email protected]

10mph maybe, I was in a parking lot, and I was taking it easy, luckily I didn't panic, i just steered it and slowly drifter around a light pole.

22sa December 13th, 2008 6:42 PM

Rear wheel drive?

Lucky.

I'm stuck with FWD. I have to use the hand brake -_-

That's the crazy part, FWD. I think it was a total fluke.

22sa December 13th, 2008 7:05 PM

Lol nah, it still can work, but yes fluke

I didn't hit the E-brake or anything, I just turned.

Lol man that's just cool. When I steer on ice my car just understeers, but it does oversteer a little when I steer super quick. I think that's the key-the suddenness of the steer that will create a shift of the rear weight

the car I was driving was classified as a sub compact car.

How big is the car you were driving?

22sa December 13th, 2008 7:27 PM

It's was a new Corolla. Too big for my taste. I like small hatchbacks like Yaris or super compact like Aveo. I don't like Smart though.

I like small cars, such as the Neon, or Caliber, oh and it has to be a Dodge too.

Voltagenic December 28th, 2008 5:50 PM

22sa, what kind of car do you have?

iirc, a CRX?

22sa December 28th, 2008 11:25 PM

I just have the new 2009 Corolla. Boring, but comfortable car.

I don't think I want the CRX anymore... too costly to change it to AWD methinks.

If I could just find myself a nice 86 like this one I have in NFS Prostreet~

Tré December 28th, 2008 11:30 PM

i play NFSU Pro Street so i can post here... i love the cars in the game....

Voltagenic January 3rd, 2009 12:06 AM

You can join if you want...

Buoysel January 5th, 2009 11:12 AM

Okay, I got bored today and went and video taped my speed-O-meter as I accelerated heavily down the on ramp to the interstate.

There was car behind me so I could not stop like I wanted to, but I went form 20 to almost 90 mph in about a quarter mile.

The only thing I have done to the car is to remove the plastic air duct that goes over the valve cover. With out it, you get the mean deep growl like you will hear soon enough in the video.

The Kidd January 8th, 2009 6:37 PM

Hey Can I join this club?
I drive a 1988 Cutlass Supreme Classic, ya know with the Euro front?
My knowledge of cars is mostly around the GM, since I am a Chevy/GM guy. After that is Mopar.
I am more into the G models like Monte Carlos and such things.

Rogue planet January 9th, 2009 9:12 AM

I have yet to sit behind the wheel of a car but sign me up :)

Buoysel January 18th, 2009 8:14 AM

I found a car that I want soo bad.

Its a '68 Plymouth Fury III, 2 door Hard top. I may be abe to get it 4 cheap.

I can't double post so EDIT: Guy wont sell his car, and I found a funny picture.

http://pics.sr4000.com/picsbig/1152902309-47/Other-Funny--210660.jpg

What most ricers really are.

22sa February 16th, 2009 10:43 AM

Won't sell it to you? =[

I'm going to have a hard time finding the Toyota Corolla AE86 I want too. If only there was a practical way to purchase it from Japan and import it. @[email protected];

Buoysel February 16th, 2009 5:17 PM

no, because it has sentimental value.

So I am stuck with my sport neon for now,

EDIT: check it out, my 1000th post.

22sa February 16th, 2009 5:27 PM

Yeah.. that terrible FWD Neon :P

Gee x_X; So are you still working that same job? Do you guys install turbos?

I work at ]AutoZone, we don't do ****.

And actually I found out that if you stick a DOHC head on a SOHC block, it yields a 9.3:1 compersation ratio, which is ideal for turboing, so I would have a DOHC 2.0L turbo.

Now I only have to come up with $1,500. -_-

I don't know wth you're talking about, but I take it this $1500 operation isn't equivalent to turbocharging your car.

Oh and don't bother spending more money on your FWD dude. Wait till you get a better car!

Whats wrong with my car?!?!?

no, If I had 1,500 dollars, I probably could have it turboed.

It's FWD. Doesn't that bother you at all?

$1500 for a turbo? Niccccceee. I wonder how much for a Supercharger. : DDDD

A turbo would give about an 80 bhp boost... correct?
