We're OU, Too! [WiFi RMT]
Making my final choices for a team. Need opinions on what I should run.
http://arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/hippowdon.png Hungry Hungry Hippo (Hippowdon) @ Leftovers Impish EV's: 252 HP / 18 Attack / 152 Defense / 88 Special Defense -Earthquake -Thunder Fang -Stealth Rock -Slack Off I can't believe it's not Tyranitar?! Basic Hippowall; chosen Thunder Fang over Ice Fang because I don't fear what it hits for super-effective now that Garchomp's out of the pictures. Plus, if nothing else, I want to hit Bronzong for neutral and make Gyarados users s#$% themselves. XD http://arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/gliscor.png Howzer (Gliscor) @ Life Orb Sand Veil Jolly EV's: 120 HP / 202 Attack / 188 Speed -Earthquake -Ice Fang -Swords Dance -Roost Suprise! NOT! Gliscor is one of my absolute favorite Pokemon ever. It's seriously severely underrated as a physical wall and as a physical threat, a trait that few Pokemon can boast (Skarmory certainly can't). Ice Fang is for coverage; I gave it the best coverage I could squeeze into two moves. Earthquake is STAB, so really, it's all based on the last move. http://arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/electivire.png Voltage (Electivire) @ Expert Belt Adamant EV's: 252 Attack / 252 Speed / 6 HP -Cross Chop -Thunderpunch -Ice Punch -Earthquake Standard Smack-My-B#$%&-Up Electivire. I find Expert Belt a very underrated item, perhaps because of the fact that it's difficult for a lot of Pokemon to use. Vire is another one of my favorite Pokemon that can be used either as an invite to switch in on Gengar's Thunderbolt, or just run in on Weavile, Chop it to death, and allow the rest of the team to (for the most part) breathe easy. I find Electivire so very useful. http://arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/forretress.png Ball of Sunshine (Foretress) @ Shed Shell Relaxed EV's: 252 HP / 162 Attack / 96 Defense -Rapid Spin -Spikes -Explosion -Gyro Ball This time around, my Ball of Sunshine isn't horrendously open to being trapped by Magnezone and walled COMPLETELY by Gengar. Gyro Ball over Earthquake so Gengar doesn't wall me totally. http://arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/dugtrio.png Whack-A-Mole (Dugtrio) @ Choice Scarf Arena Trap Adamant EV's: 252 Speed, 252 Attack, 6 HP -Night Slash -Earthquake -Stone Edge -Aerial Ace Revenge killer. I needed something that can outrun Scarfgar and kill it all at the same time, and AT Scarfmoles is just evil, as it makes Infernape crap its pants. The problem is fighting a tandem of Mixape and Scarfgar, which my team has a serious weakness to. Aside from that, the coverage is there for Dugtrio to hit just about all counters this team has with no fear of being perfectly walled. It can also outspeed so many things in the standard metagame, and anything that flies is fodder for Hippowdon's stones to pick off. It does fear anything that takes to the skies, but most of my team can cover that much effectively. :3 http://arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/spiritomb.png onoudont (Spiritomb) @ Leftovers Modest EV's: 252 HP, 252 Special Attack, 6 Defense -Pain Split/Will-O-Wisp -Nasty Plot -Shadow Ball/Psychic/Dark Pulse -Shadow Ball/Psychic/Dark Pulse If the lack of confidence in what to use with it is any indication, I've never run Spiritomb, but I love the idea of Spiritomb walling. It doesn't have the Ground immunity that Gengar has, but because it's got better defenses, I can rely on switching into more attacks with it. The choice between Pain Split and Will-O-Wisp is the choice between slow healing (due to the fact that it can get killed before it's able to get a PS in) or burning an opponent. What makes this decision hard is Heracross; CS CC's make this thing lololololol, as it's an invitation to setup a Plot and go for the kill, but at the same time, I'm not confident in its taking ability versus Megahorn, as it makes WoW useless, and Pain Split slow and unreliable. The other problem is the attack to use, again a problem painted by the horn of Heracross, and to a lesser extent, Gengar. Psychic hits the two of them for super-effective, as well as hitting Infernape for super-effective, but Weavile ignores it completely. If I had the patience to breed the IV's, I'd do HP Fighting, but I have no idea how to in the first place, and the patience of getting the IV's for HP Fighting while still doing Modest is almost unbearable for a person of my patience. Dark Pulse and Shadow Ball get STAB; the only reason I'm POSSIBLY considering Dark Pulse is Blissey, who safely switches into Shadow Ball. So, for me, the decisions for the moves are difficult for me. So, what do you think of my UU OU team? =D |

Jolly > Timid on CB Trio, as Timid is -Atk/+Spd.
I chose NS on Trio because it's difficult to outrun and, when locked into a Choice item, Sucker Punch is incredibly easy to setup on. The suggestions for Electivire are much, much appreciated. Tbolt over Tpunch? :S Thank you very much for your comments. :D Anyone else? |
LO Gyarados loves this team as it can switch out of the only thing that can revenge kill it or even threaten it, aka Dugtrio (A pokemon with base 80 attack =/.) but other than that pretty much 6-0's your team. As do numerous Salamence variants (Especially those with Draco meteor and Flamethrower, which is like 90% of them these days lol).
What i would suggest is putting something such as HP Electric Vappy or what ever >> Dugtrio and then a Scarf Timid Heatran >> Spiritomb, this way you can cope with Gyarados and switch Heatran into Draco Meteors and Flamethrowers respectively, whilst retaining your revenge killing ability. Also Thunderbolt on E-Vire sucks unless your using the + Sp.att - def nature Flamethrower/T-Bolt/HP Ice or Grass/Cross Chop @Life Orb set, because : - 1. Hardly anyone uses physical walls, let alone Skarmory anymore. 2. Because your investing so few evs in sp.att it does less net damage than ThunderPunch. 3 It makes it easy for CM variants of Suicune to come in on Hippwdon and what not, get a few CM's UP, lol at T-Bolt and 6-0 this team =). Speaking of which, the Vappy i suggest would help with said Suicune too, so you wouldnt have to rely on Vire too much to beat it as its the only thing on your team that can (At the moment). And im not even going to say anything about the Timid suggestion for Dugtrio lol =o. |
Vire seems useless when you have no electtic weaknesses to take advantage of. You need a Gyara counter badly. Suicune?

Hippowdon doesn't need Ice fang anymore with Garchomp gone?
MixVire over PhyVire, PhyVire is walled silly. No Electric weaknesses mean Vire is going to have a hard time getting a MD boost. Attack EVs not needed on Forretress. Put them in Sp.Def. Right, you expect to revenge things when you have 80 base Atk and no boosting item :/ Band/Orb over Scarf. Did I mention Gengar has Levitate and can simply switch out? NP Tomb is TRAAASH. Better off with the standard here. No Special Sweeper. No Special Wall. Three Physical Sweepers. Two Physical Walls. Gyarados weak. Giygas: this...team...needs...a...re...make... |
