UU Rain Dance - Platinum Edition
Introduction:
Well, I've been out of battling for awhile, so I decided to come back in via the UU metagame, of which I've done horribly in the past. Please keep in mind I WILL be using Platinum moves, so Outrage Kingdra is legitimate. As such, you may wonder why I'm running Swift Swim+Dragon Dance. The extra speed never hurt anybody did it? _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ http://www.arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/aerodactyl.png [email protected] Scarf Adamant 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe Stone Edge Ice Fang/Stealth Rock Aqua Tail Earthquake Yeah, Aqua Tail Aerodactyl plox. In the rain it's a weapon, and I intend to abuse it. Choice Scarf is unexpected on something as fast as Aero, but it does have its merrits. I no longer need to run any speed, as Adamant Choice Scarf outspeeds Jolly/252 Aerodactyl easily. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ http://www.arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/bibarel.png [email protected] Berry Adamant 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def Simple Substitute Curse Waterfall Return Curse Bibarel is gonna pwn your metagamez! Seriously, after Liechi activates +4 Atk / +2 Def after 1 curse is scary. Couple that with powerful STAB moves and an increase in the rain, and Bibarel is a viable physical sweeper if I ever saw one. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ http://www.arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/clefable.png [email protected] Orb Adamant 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe Magic Guard Trick Facade Meteor Mash Protect Clefable got Trick in Platinum, along with every other second pokemon. However, Clefable comes with an added bonus, the Toxic Orb damage doesn't take effect due to Magic Guard. We know what this means people! Trick Toxic Orb to a pesky wall such as Hypno/Grumpig/Sandslash and watch their health wittle down while Protecting and firing away STAB Facade. Nice. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ http://www.arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/hypno.png [email protected] Calm 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD Insomnia Wish Rain Dance Seismic Toss Reflect Standard Hypno. Provides sleep resists and Wish support, as well as Reflect. Also my second Rain Dancer. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ *Note: At time of posting, I didn't know Kingdra was BL. (Don't asky me why, I must have had a brain fade) So yeah...can we consider it UU? XD |
IMO,
[email protected] Orb Lonely 252 SpAtk/168 Atk/88 Spe Swift Swim Ice Beam Outrage Hydro Pump Hidden Power Electric Kingdra is too overpowered for UU >_>. He's BL. Isn't Kingdra BL...
Softboild > Protect on that Clefable, since it's not leading and is meant to come on something that poses no threat to it. Kabutops still outspeeds your entire team after a Rain Dance, so I'm not sure it's that wise to set it up without having a solid counter to it. |
Maybe if you throw in Quagsire to help you avoid having Rain turned on you. Wall set, I guess...
|
Yeah, whilst Kingdra with Outrage is now possible, Kingdra in UU will NEVER happen lol.
Ive never found Reflect at all useful on Hypno tbh, I much prefer Light Screen as it started loosing to stuff Like Gorebyss in the Rain. (Who you are Kinda weak to). Venusaur hurts you badly too (But thats a given for pretty much any UU team anyway XD). So Yeah Light Screen would help in that aspect with most the aforementioned. As well as aforementioned Kabutops, who is an ass regardless. Possibly Toxicroak or Quasire would go along way here i feel....They also help with Qwilfish =p. |
Due to the fact that Kingdra is BL, you can just replace it. Since this is a rain dance team, prehaps Kyogre lol washertom?
Washertom: @ choice scarf/ Choice specs Timid/ Modest nature 252 spatt, 252 spd, 6 hp -Hydro pump -Thunder -Hp [Fighting] -Shadow ball Since ghost and fighting cover everything for neutral, they would work, especially with ghost stab to break down UU's psychic walls. SInce tis is a rain dance team, Thunder has 100% accuracy and boosts hydro pump. Take your pick at item and nature. |
Washertom? Did I miss anything something in Plat, or is that a nick?
|
Rotom in the Dishwasher form, dear. :3
Gorebyss / Omastar are nice replacement Swift Swimmers for Kingdra. Gorebyss has a decent Special Attack stat and also a good Defense stat, which people usually wouldn't expect. Omastar has a higher Special Attack stat by 11 points, but has a denting x4 grass weakness AND a ground weakness. Blegh, I'd use Gorebyss > Omastar though. Anyways, if you are in need of a replacement for Kingdra, definitely consider Gorebyss. It looks like you're trying to run a physical sweeper, though. Toxicroak works, and it can counter those pesky Psychic type walls that think they can wall you. |

If T_S wants to go toxicroak, then he should be running NP sweeper toxicroak, as he has othing that hits on the special side except for.... Electrode. ._.
And washertom does not have to wait a turn to set up, and can fire off STAB Thunder with 100% accuracy in the rain, gets boosted hydro pump, has STAB shadow ball and can use fighting coverage. And washertom has base 105 in both defences and has only 5 less hp than gorebyss. |
