Red = Annoying?
Well, today I went over to a friends place and he was playing Pokémon Red on his Gameboy Color, He said that he had a level 30 Mew, He was very proud of himself until he found out his brother had deleted his save, so to him the game was useless so he gave it to me for $1. Bargain for a very old and rare game
But I've played it and I've noticed it's all red. EVERYTHING is RED. *how ironic.* But does anybody else find this annoying? I mean a red Squirtle. Come on. |
Yeah, why do you think they called it Red and Blue. I guess it gets annoying, but after a while you kind of forget about it. But still $1 is a frigging bargain, I would do that anyday.
|
ironically enough you get mew by doing a few steps within game play
|
I have blue, but no I dont find it annoying, you could always buy a gameboypocket and have it in black? but they are pretty hard to find
|
Gameboy Pocket...Hmm..I could try and get one, It's been my dream to have an original Gameboy, I'll go check on eBaY.
|
Original Gamboys are crazy! I mean crazy awesome, not bad crazy :)
Only problem is that they're kinda bulky and can get in the way a bit |
Put it in a GBA and you change the colors.

To change the color of the game, when you first turn the game on, and it says "Gameboy Color", press Select and B, or Select and A or down or up or up and down or up and B. There are different color combinations you can make. There are I think 8 or so combinations. I can't think of the exact ones right now, but you can try it or Google it.
|
Oh, yeah, that combonation. I always used that on my GBA to change it from the bland red color. It gets annoying having everything red after awhile!
|
I had the original Gameboy but I threw it away last month when I found it in a bunch of other junk last month...Sorry:(
|
I don't remember my red being in red, I remember it being in black and white.
|
Back then I didn't really care that everything was red or blue, the game was like nothing I had ever played before, so that made up for it.
I can see why it would seem annoying to a person whose used to playing the new games. When I go back and play the old ones, I find it a bit annoying too. Luckily I had the blue version. |

If it's all red, my guess is that's being played in a GBC or GBA, which means you can change the color scheme. EDIT: I found this on the Nintendo support site. It shows what buttons to press to change the colors of GB games on either your GBC or GBA. http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/gameboyadvance/colorchange.jsp |

It's red if you use a gameboy color. In the old gameboys, the graphics were completely black white and gray. I personally like changing the graphic colors to inverted. (=> + B)

There is one color scheme that makes trainers visible in Rock Tunnel, though just barely. |

No, I don't find it annoying, but I have the option to play in greyscale because I've never thrown away my old Gameboys.
The only thing I do find annoying is the lack of the ability to bound select to a bag item, and that the bag is unorganised. In all honesty, I don't think the Pokemon games really took off until the second generation came around. Quote:

yeah, but being red just makes it more fun, it was originally made to entertain a wide variety of people, and since technicolor wasnt a that advanced back then, they thought it was revolutionary to make everything red or blue. and so it was
|
The yellow and green color schemes are good ones to use, and they're brighter than the others.
I heard once that if you put Red or Blue in a GBC, each Pokemon would be colored in their main color. (i.e., brown Pidgey.) |
I had green and red,
I would always invert them for it to be easier on the eyes I am indeed a Japanese buyer of games, even when I was a lad. |
