PLATINUM FUN!!!111

Since everyone's been adjusting to the Platinum metagame, my newly made team saw no usage ._. Only solution? Convert to a whole new metagame, which, in my opinion, is FUUUUN!

i tried out this moveset for rotom-w:
[email protected] choice scarf 252speed/252sp.attack/6hp
Hydro pump
thunder bolt
shadow ball
Trick

Anyway, i would ran destiny bond on gengar and brick breack on scizor.

SS and SR wears your team down insanely fast, which isn't exactly great when you'll be switching a lot with 3 choicers.

On paper a solid team. Of course I don't really know a whole lot about platinum but yeah, looks pretty decent.

Also, roost on Scizor for sure. Otherwise, Tyranitar will easily wear down on you and sweep your team. Definitely not what you want.

Also, Salamence isn't even close to broken just fyi >_>

EDIT: Biggest weakness by far is Kingdra and rain teams in general. You are pretty much 6-0ed by them.

No one ever said that Wash Rotom had to have Hydro Pump. Standard sets for Dialga don't have Roar of Time. The alternate forms of Rotom don't have to use specific moves.

Um... what?

You're right, no one ever did say he "had" to have Hydro Pump, he was merely suggesting a standard Rotom set in Platinum, one of the most common even. And frankly, the alternate forms use their respective moves a lot in this new metagame. So... where have you been?

Hydro Pump actually has use with Rotom, the insane amount of fire-types and ground-types. Mainly Heatran that will pretty much switch in laughing or trying to absorb a suspected trick.

And actually, I'd try Hydro Pump over Shadow Ball. It has the merits for that slot.

Try and play Heatran and Salamence conservatively, it seems whoever makes them last, wins. If you smoke your Heatran early on, Scizor has one less thing to worry about, you'll probably find yourself using it alot, just... make sure you don't give it a slip knock out. Skymin is Skymin, let it rock. But it's all about getting your feet wet though, that's probably the best thing for paper Platinum teams.

Made a few changes; made a few loves. I absolutely adore Washer-Rotom. The thing is a walling animal. I replaced DDMence with CBMence. However, I'm starting to wonder if CBNite would take it's place better since it has SuperPower.

ABYAY September 27th, 2008 7:04 PM

I'll just tell you now; Dragonite has more awesome merit than Salamence, and it's also more bulky on the special side, meaning you can come in on a Heatran Fire Blast much easier. It still has a base 95 defense, so either side can take hits when needed. With Superpower at its disposal, the worry of KOing Blissey is over. You're more weak to Pursuit after use, although most likely, you'll try to be KO'd with a powerful move.

Resist-wise, you lack a Rock resist, meaning Stone Edges from the likes of Tyranitar and Rhyperior hurt a lot. Fortunately, the only thing either of them can easily come in on are against your Rotom or mispredicted Choice moves. Speaking of which, be careful of Stealth Rock with 3 Choicers on your team.

. September 27th, 2008 7:28 PM

I'm actually considering using CBNite. Blissey has been REALLY annoying the past battles I had, and I think Nite could offer a better Poke overall for the team.

Of course, it's either that or CB Scizor.

Crazed_One September 27th, 2008 7:36 PM

I suggest a CB Scizor, don't waste any EVs on speed though, as your main attack is BP.

. September 27th, 2008 7:38 PM

Scizor @ Choice Band
Adamant
252 HP/252 Att/6 Def
Bullet Punch
Iron Head
X-Scissor
SuperPower

?

Crazed_One September 27th, 2008 7:44 PM

Pursuit over Iron Head, and switch the HP Evs For Def Evs.

. September 27th, 2008 7:47 PM

If I use that, should I keep DDMence? Or invest in a Heatran counter?

Crazed_One September 27th, 2008 7:59 PM

I would get rid of Mence, as it isn't that great IMO, and you need a Heatran Check, plus having two 4x Ice Weaks isn't amazing for you, Mamo just enjoys the kills.

. September 27th, 2008 8:07 PM

Any suggestions for a Heatran counter? I could also use something to sponge hits from Zapdos ._.

Skip Shot September 27th, 2008 8:47 PM

Magnet Rise Lanturn solves both of your problems

You could opt for a Machamp, it can take some hits pretty wel from Tran, and can sponge hits from Zappy, as long as it doesn't have drill peck( i haven't seen many dos' with drill peck lately.) Stone Edge and D-Punch/STAB Fighting move in there of course.

. September 27th, 2008 8:50 PM

Machamp is a terrible answer to both of my problems.

ABYAY September 27th, 2008 8:57 PM

Why not a Thick Fat Snorlax? Choice Band, standard Rest-talk, however you wanna play it, it'll take Fire/Ice attacks with ease.

. September 27th, 2008 8:59 PM

I really don't like Snorlax for this team. If I add CBLax, then I'd have to use SD Scizor =/

ABYAY September 27th, 2008 9:30 PM

Well, the only other Thick Fat things I know of are Azumarill, which is lol, and Hariyama, which isn't bad.

. September 27th, 2008 9:32 PM

I decided to go with Blissey, since most special threats run over this team...Hard.

sims796 September 27th, 2008 9:32 PM

Grumpig as well....

Sorry, just wanted to throw that out there.

Crazed_One September 28th, 2008 5:38 AM

Well I would suggest a Gyarados, cause it blocks Fire Blasts, and Earth Powers, and its really rare that they carry HP Electric. I guess Blissey could work though.

. September 28th, 2008 7:00 AM

How does Gyarados counter Zapdos?

And I decided that I might go with Lax or (insert physical sweeper)

sims796 September 28th, 2008 8:59 AM

Well, Zapdos can't come into Gya to save it's life, and vice versa.
