Coming out!

(not that coming out you jerks)
Well, I'm willing to bet at least a few of you are happy to see me again :P
I've thought about coming out of retirement. I know I'm old, but I'm sure I can still remember how to do this stuff. So here's a team for you guys to massacre.
Also, I never caught on to whether or not the game has changed, so bear with me.

Heracross @ Choice Scarf ** Malachi
Ability: Guts
EVs: 88 HP / 220 Atk / 200 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Megahorn
- Close Combat
- Pursuit
- Stone Edge
Status Absorber #1.

Zapdos @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 88 HP / 176 Spd / 252 SAtk
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Heat Wave
- Hidden Power (Grass)
- Sleep Talk
Optimized for Platinum. We'll see how the Scarf variety works out.

Snorlax @ Leftovers ** Uncle Phil
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 172 HP / 40 Atk / 120 Def / 176 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Curse
- Crunch
- Body Slam / Return / Earthquake
- Rest

Currently pending replacement.

Claydol @ Leftovers ** Spinners
Ability: Levitate
EVs: ??? (Need assistance)
??? Nature (+???, -???) (Need assistance)
- Rapid Spin
- Earth Power
- Stealth Rock
- Shadow Ball

Pending replacement.

Milotic @ Leftovers ** Nereid
Ability: Marvel Scale
EVs: 212 HP / 184 Def / 76 SAtk / 40 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Hidden Power (Electric)
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Recover
Changed to HP Electric because Gyarados is apparently a bigger threat.

Metagross @ Shuca Berry ** GILGAMESH
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 88 HP / 252 Atk / 44 Def / 124 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Ice Punch
- Agility
- Meteor Mash
- Zen Headbutt / Thunderpunch
Outrage abusing Salamence can kiss ass. This is only going to be an experimental run (not sure if Platinum moves are implemented in Shoddy yet) at least until I'm slightly satisfied. Deciding between Zen and Thunderpunch. Want to kill Gyarados in the run also, but I do like the STAB, so I dunno.

Throbbing Weavile weakness is the prime thing that I see. And Infernape rapes everything, so I stopped caring about that thing.
As you can see, I require much assistance. Comments and Constructive Criticisms are welcome.

EDIT: Minor fixes on Tyranitar, Milotic, and Zapdos. Also, why didn't anyone tell me Garchompers was promoted to uber, that's the prime reason for my Ice Fang on Tyranitar =(

EDIT 2: Replaced Tyranitar. My geez, I think I might need to redo the whole team.

OLOL.

Yes and your not leaving again this time !!

Anyways, you should be ok with Weavile since you have a bulky water and can revenge kill it with Hera.

LO Gyarados is an idiot to you, what you could do is put HP Electric on Milotic to make it an effective counter, not just having to rely on Hypnosis (Since if Sleep clause is already activated you will be effectively screwed >_<). Vaporeon could fit in Milotic's slot too, taking lol damage from Grass Knot (Since you said you had Mixape problems) and being able to counter Gyarados with HP Electric, it also provides Wish support which would be great for a bulky team like this. But ill leave this up to you.

Also a cool move on scarf cross is putting Toxic >> Pursuit (As the latter it too underpowered imo on a scarf set to do real damage), this way you can sweep easier with Tyranitar once walls are poisoned =). Something to consider.

Ice Fang on t-tar is kinda meh....I suppose it hits breloom, but still..

252 HP / 114 SP.ATT / 144 def @Bold works on Claydol (Since then you can do more than 2 with some sp.att evs).

Anyway, it looks ok, However watch out for Skymin..you may be able to revenge kill it with Hera's stone Edge, but still. Something like Timid Scarf Heatran may be nice here aswell possibly >> Claydol.

hai gai ^.^

why timid on zapdos? although hypnosis' new accuracy will only prevent a small portion of players from using it, i'm going to stay safe with saying zapdos might need some hp to take hits before it stalks for the team. if you're trying to hit certain speeds for dominating/revenge kills, then i suggest you give hera CB and give zapdos modest with scarf.

only other thing i can comment on is snorlax. yeah, it won't last 3 minutes given that it can somehow survive for 1 or even more unimaginable, 2. superpower is in a lot of physical sweepers' arsenals who are branding either swords dance or cb (namely scizor, who is at a major high right now). i suggest you think of something just a bit different for it. lax now has easy access to fire punch... combined with return/body slam, it'll be able to adjust a bit, being able to take on the current threat of skymin. all honesty, curselax just ain't cutting it anymore =/

Welcome back!
Well the Metagame has changed a lot, so you don't really get a chance to Spin.

It's faster and more offensive, with Suicide Leads that Taunt and set up SR and are then left to die. Eg, Aerodactyl/Azelf.

Also, semi-bulky walls don't work as well, so things like Milotic and Claydol will need to be reconsidered.

CurseLax has never worked quite as well in this gen. There are large number of pokemon that can OHKO it after a curse or two. I prefer to run CBLax, although you're forced to choose between Pursuit and Self-Destruct, due to legality issues.

You'll also need to adapt to a few new standards, such as Timid on several Scarfers and wait for it.......Calm Blissey. So, yeah. A few things to look out for.

You'll be happy to know that, with Sky-Shaymin and Outrage Mence, Mamoswine is rather usable, still.

Glad to see a veteran coming back to the community.

Noir Lancer September 27th, 2008 8:42 AM

Hypnosis + Recovery Milotic is simply overrated really, not to mention that Hypnosis accuracy is worse than before. It would be much preferable for it to be put under a status to abuse Marvel Scale, thus it should be the ResTalker over Zapdos which has better things to do quite frankly.

As for EVs and Nature, Calm with 212 HP, 120 Def, 176 S.Def is superior to physical defensive Milotic anyday

Tyranitar will want at the very least 228 Spd EVs to outspeed what it needs to after a Dragon Dance. Ice Beam with Life Orb OHKOs Max HP/ S.Def Gliscor for what its worth as well, which is better than Ice Fang in my opinion.

At that point the EV spread will be 28 HP/ 252 Atk/ 228 Spd

And as you've said Curselax isnt any good anymore, especially with the advent of Superpower's availability in the metagame

Iceman3k September 27th, 2008 3:30 PM

K so I learned a few things. Salamence gets Outrage and will rape nearly everything now, and Superpower has dominated the metagame.

Oh, and I need something to replace Snorlax since he's pretty much obsolete now. Also, I suppose I could find something to get Gyarados as well...

Yep, Iceman3k has so much homework to do.

Ársa September 27th, 2008 4:21 PM

Snorlax is NOT obsolete. CBLax rules over all. Especially great for Sweeper teams, who seem to always have trouble with Heatran.

Faceless* September 27th, 2008 6:32 PM

Well well, if it isn't the infamous old fellow :o

Just one thing to say, Shadow Ball on Claydol won't do very much good since most of the time, Spiritomb usually the one to switch in (or Gengar, but Shadow Ball won't OHKO Gengar), I'd replace Shadow Ball for a more supportive move, like Reflect for the Milotic since it has problems with Physical Attackers, or if you want to go neatly on the offensive side, Ice Beam.

EDIT: Oh dear, I forgot to mention that Spinning was now almost obsolete LOL

Iceman3k September 28th, 2008 7:30 AM

Minor fixes on first post. See the edit.
