KNEEL BEFORE YOUR GODS! >:< [ Platinum ] <=3

"EDITS ARE BEING MADE. BLARGH! >:O"

- Wise saying from the almighty BeachBoy.

I have 4 reasons for that title, let me tell them to you...

  • This team is focused around the Gods of Egypt, their characteristics fit what each God represents, according to the website that gives me this info.
  • Everyone's making a Platinum team on Shoddy Battle, so I must jump on the bandwagon.
  • BeachBoy's making a team of Chinese Gods on Shoddy, so I must do Egypt. :<
  • BeachBoy linked to a team on Smogon that did represent Chinese Gods, so yeah.

http://arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/alakazam.png
Hike (Alakazam) @ Focus Sash
Timid (+Spd, -Atk)
252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
- Psychic
- Knock Off
- Counter
- Taunt

Anti-Lead Alakazam, suggestion by Dark_Azelf, who insists on trolling my rmt, he posted that <=3 smiley in my title and 2 smileys at the bottom. Knock Off is an odd move, but it removes those Sashes from Suicide Leads, while Taunt scares off their Stealth Rock. Counter laughs at those miserable things. Psychic is standard lol.

---

http://arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/salamence.png
Onuris (Salamence) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 120 Atk/176 Spd/212 SAtk
Rash nature (+SAtk, -SDef)
- Brick Break
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Roost

Everyone uses DD Outrage Mence these days, it's so predictable. MixMence is now rare and lost its throne, but still a very powerful threat. 176 Spe outspeeds neutral Spe Lucario.

---

http://arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/rotomspin.png
Osiris (Rotom-s) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Air Slash
- Discharge
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Rotom-S is arguably the best Fighting resist, and the haxiest of the Rotom formes, so I love it. Discharge works pretty nicely with Air Slash, hint: ParaFlinch. RestTalk is always nice for status absorbing.

---

http://arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/heatran.png
Ra (Heatran) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Fire Blast
- Stealth Rock

All Platinum teams should have Heatran, being a respectable Pokemon that can support the massive Ice weakness. It is also a fantastic Revenge Killer with Timid and Choice Scarf. Stealth Rock for lack of a better filler, after all, SR is too important these days. =D
Otherwise it is standard. ;)

---

http://arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/machamp.png
Geb (Machamp) (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/4 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Payback
- Ice Punch
- Thunderpunch

gogogo mini Tyranitar check. While it can't switch in directly, I might as well use it to hammer mostly anything while still handing out a dire Rock resist. :<

---

http://arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/scizor.png
Sobek (Scizor) @ Choice Band
Adamant
176 HP / 100 Atk / 232 SDef
- U-Turn
- Superpower
- Pursuit
- Bullet Punch

Classic Scarf Gengar counter and new craze of Platinum, also meant so Samson would not hate me anymore. ;_; Bullet Punch was God's blessing for Scizor, with Technician boosting it further. U-Turn escapes, while still leaving an often fatal blow.Superpower and Pursuit are perfect. 232 SDef makes Focus Blast from Timid Scarf Gar a very low chance of 2HKOing, only 0.27%. =D

So...you're wondering why I chose each Pocket Monster's role as Gods of Egypt, well, here's what each God represents:

  • Hike represents the God of Magic and Medicine, pretty much all Special Sweepers fit this, but Alakazam is D_A's suggestion, I can't possibly reject it, without a fake PM that says I have an infraction, which would give me a heart attack.
  • Onuris is the God of War, pretty much all Sweepers fill this role, to be honest, but I love Mence too much, Onuris happens to be my favorite God.
  • Osiris was once the Pharaoh and loved by all, but Set killed him, Osiris is one of my favorite Gods.
  • Ra is the Sun God of Egypt, pretty much all Fire-types fit this role, but Heatran is the most useful, a God I truly respect.
  • Geb is the God of the Earth, Machamp fights on the ground and is strong enough to be considered a God, I don't really like or hate this God. ;)
  • Sobek is the almighty Guard of the Gods, almost anything even a tad bulky fits this role, but Scizor is quite good in Platinum, and defends me from Scarf Gar, which is basically Set, the god of Evil.
By the way, I love crushing your internet speed on my teams, because I pretty much put the most images on them, only BB's Beserkers team matches the number of images I put, I think.

:mudkip^_^: :rambo: <--- D_A's doing, not mine. ;_; wsedhjyrertyjj INFRACT!!!

WHY D_A, WHY?!

Timid Scarfgar gives you problems. Its not outsped by skymin, but it can survive a 252 SPA/ Modest Air Slash and still switch in to a SR.

ABYAY September 28th, 2008 9:29 PM

however hardcore, do note he can just Substitute on that switch-in, meaning Gengar will take a near-fatal blow, and he can just switch that Skymin out since its move will be revealed, and then acted upon accordingly.

Nothing jumps out and says "OMG WEAK TO <blank>!!!", so it's fine along my lines of rating, which in my current state, I can't do a big team rate. The team has been faring well from what I've seen.

Aquilae September 28th, 2008 9:41 PM

May I ask why is Aero there? It just seems like dead weight when you can setup SR with an alternative pokemon =/

One thing that jumps out to me is the startling Gengar weak, getting free switchins on Machamp and others and dominating with LO Shadow Ball / Focus Blast. Since I don't like Aerodactyl on this team I feel you should replace it with something to combat Gengar, something like Bulky CB Scizor which can Pursuit Gengar off.

Watch out for Bulky CMers like Suicune and Celebi, Skymin can't switch into any of them and neither can Machamp, which are your best hopes at taking them down. Just try not to let them set up in the first place.

Samson September 29th, 2008 1:37 AM

seriously, i'm disappointed in you for using skymin at its most broken form. to think you can subseed and continually flinch the opponent while you gain hp is loldumb.

True...I'll listen to more.

BeachBoy's Chinese team needs to stop, killing the Egyptian Gods is sin. >=[ Thanks for the post, ABY.

I suppose I could do that, Aerodactyl has been really dead weight in my matches on the Smogon Server. Scizor will be tested on Shoddy and Aero will be booted out.

:< I thought everyone would one day stab me for using Skymin, tbh, I haven't been using it much, I will probably remove it for something else, opinions?

Max™ September 29th, 2008 2:34 PM

I am against the horrific idea of removing Skymin >=[. anyways, i think skymin should get 252 spatt >>> 252 HP because you need all the HP you can from leech seed to keep pumping up those Subs, and IMO, the extra power wont hurt. =D

sims796 September 29th, 2008 2:42 PM

Um, what? That sentence doesn't make any sense.

No, really, it just makes the percentage look higher, not like the HP gets boosted more iirc.

agree. ;)

EDIT: D_A still has that awful "<=3" thing in my RMT title. >=[
