Wi-Fi RMT, Take 2.
Improved the team I posted from last time.
http://arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/yanmega.png Off! (Yanmega) @ Wise Glasses Speed Boost Modest Nature (+SpAtk, -Atk) EV's: 252 Speed, 252 Special Attack, 6 Defense -Protect -Hypnosis -Bug Buzz -Air Slash Standard lead. Typically, I'll usually use Hypnosis turn 1 to prevent Stealth Rocks from being thrown up from Bronzong or other SR leads. In the case that my opponent leads with something faster, I Protect. Often times, the opponent's lead that outspeeds Yanmega will be a Scarfer, so I can know what Pokemon to counter it. If not, it's my loss, as I'll likely have cost myself the game to Protecting a DD/SD. A lot of the choice in this is personal; I love Yanmega, I find its versatility as a lead special sweeper in a physically-dominated metagame is useful for people who don't pack Blissey. Even then, I can just send everyone's favorite wall to sleep and setup a sweep. :S http://arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/hippowdon.png Sand Santa (Hippowdon) @ Leftovers Impish Nature (+Def, -SpAtk) EV's: 252 HP, 18 Attack, 152 Defense, 88 Special Defense -Earthquake -Ice Fang -Slack Off -Stealth Rock/Roar Hungry Hungry Hippo returns with a bit more thought put into it. I decided to go Ice Fang over Thunder Fang for DDMence and the "here today, gone tomorrow" Skymin. I have to now make a choice about Stealth Rock or Roar. I've never been a fan of entry hazards, and a few people run stuff to deal with them, so I'm leaning more towards Roar to rid myself of Subs that try to wall me and DD/SD users. SR is a very viable option due to the fact that it does deal a bit better with Gyarados, which does give me a problem even after modifying this team a bit. Thoughts? http://arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/heatran.png Incinerator (Heatran) @ Choice Scarf/Specs Modest Nature (+SpAtk, -Atk) EV's: 40 HP, 252 Special Attack, 218 Speed -Overheat -Dragon Pulse -Earth Power -Explosion Put over Hippowdon to cover my weakness to Scarftran and Skymin. I'm a fan of Overheat, but that's just my judgement, and it could be poor for all I know. I like it over Fire Blast and Flamethrower for reasons of superior power. It probably won't be staying around for long locked into it anyway, as other Heatran easily wall it. The rest of the moves are standard on any Heatran. http://arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/gliscor.png Howzer (Gliscor) @ Leftovers/Life Orb Sand Veil Jolly Nature (+Speed, -SpAtk) EV's: 120 HP, 202 Attack, 188 Speed -Swords Dance -Roost -Earthquake -Ice Fang Gliscor is definitely my favorite OU Pokemon. I went with the option of Leftovers over Life Orb for the redundancy of Roost with Life Orb attatched. At the same time, I'm not sure. EQ for STAB, Ice Fang for coverage. http://arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/electivire.png Rick Roll'd (Electivire) @ Expert Belt Rash Nature (+SpA, -SpD)/Naughty Nature (+Atk, -SpD) EV's: 252 Special Attack, 78 Attack, 180 Speed -Cross Chop -Ice Punch -Thunderbolt -Flamethrower Edited to MixVire. Considering spreading the EV's out more, thoughts? http://arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/gyarados.png Rararararar (Gyarados) @ Life Orb Adamant Nature (+Attack, -Special Attack) EV's: 73 HP, 252 Attack, 185 Speed -Dragon Dance -Waterfall -Ice Fang -Stone Edge DDos, with Stone Edge over EQ to take down other DDos. Waterfall over Aqua Tail because I'd rather hit my target kthnx. Also a good way to Rick Roll my opponent if you know what I mean, due to the fact that this thing attracts plenty of Scarfgar who can be supported by Vire or Gliscor (SD setup on the latter is awfully appealing, isn't it? =D) http://arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/gengar.png LOLHI2U!~=) (Gengar) @ Choice Scarf Timid Nature (+Speed, -SpAtk) EV's: 252 Speed, 252 Special Attack, 6 HP -Focus Blast -Shadow Ball -Thunderbolt -Psychic/Sludge Bomb Revenge killer, the usual. DO NOT SUGGEST HP ICE FOR THIS, I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO BREED IV'S KTHNX. Last move's a tossup; though I'm considering the latter for Skymin and STAB. Both are walled by things, though, so it's ultimately a matter of choice. Let me know what you think, thanks! :D |

My real problem with this team is that outside of Gyarados, everything is very easily walled. Your team is worn down by SS and SR damage pretty quickly barring Gliscor and Hippowdon, both of whom are easily disposed of by a bulky water. I would replace Hippowdon (who really only hurts this team) for a Choice Band Snorlax. It takes Skymin's hits pretty well and makes a splendid switch into Heatran. It hits very hard on top of that. |
I've already finished EV'ing Yanmega, Gliscor and Gyarados, so it's quite funny that this is the case.
CBLax will be put in over Hippowdon. Thank you for the suggestion. EDIT: After inspection, I've found that CBLax is a rather impossible task for me to do, seeing as I don't own Emerald for its movetutors. In its place, I've included Heatran. I need some input on whether to go with Specs or Scarf, though. (I have Scarfgar already :S) |
