darn gold version... xD
Okay, so me and my friend go to gamecrazy because I needed a new gold version because I accidently destroyed my last gold version and once I find a new one I was gonna switch the batteries just in case so the game would save correctly. lol Anyway, we get to gamecrazy and we find no used games for gameboy and gameboy color, so i'm like darn... Then we go back to my friends house were looking for his gold version so he would give it to me for free, but we could not find it, so instead he gives me his Crystal version, so i'm like didn't I got that for your birthday long time ago and he is like yes... Then I was like oh w/e I'll take it and now i'm at home deciding which starter should I choose and what flying type pokemon should I catch later. I have a problem with flying types, because I forget to catch one, so I can use fly at anytime. lol Anyways I made this thread, because I thought it was cool of what my friend did for me, but I know I don't have gold version, but oh well its more fun playing Crystal and now I have 2 crystal versions. xD
I need to get gold, so I can get the pokemon I need so I can trade them to silver or crystal, so i guess I should search on ebay for gold version. Anyways, guys what should be my pokemon team or tips in the game? and sorry for this long message...-_- Thanks~~~ Skaterzpenguin |

There are no Mareeps in Crystal, so the easiest general strategy is to choose Cyndaquil and catch a Geodude. Get Cyndaquil to about level 8, then use Geodude for all the battles on Route 30/31. Go through Sprout Tower, using Cyndaquil against Bellsprouts and Geodude against Hoothoots. Your goal is to get Geodude to learn Rock Throw before beating Falkner. From here you can pick up a Gastly if it's night; otherwise just go on south. From there things shouldn't be very difficult. |
LOL thnx for your life story eh?
nar, just catch a pidgey or as IIMarckus said, get the spearow... |
I like a little variety, so I caught a Hoothoot.
In the long run, Noctowls are pretty sweet, and they're a psychic type to that's two types you can cross off your list for your team. Also makes Falkner a bit of a challenge regardless of who you pick as a starter (I love Totodile myself). And a good challenge is what I'm all about ;) |
pidgey, hoothoot and spearow are probably the earliest flying types you can get. Later, i think you can catch some farfetch'ds on some routes near ecruteak city.

in crystal, try to catch a phanpy, They always work well for me and they are in the same location as the geodudes and jigglypuffs, just slightly more rare.
It wont benefit you for the first badge, but donphan is a strong battler for the intention of just beating the game quicker. |
