Mew's Desire October 6th, 2008 2:49 AM

The most annoying thing in PMD(Both versions)

What is the most annoying, stupid thing in PMD1 or 2?

Jacob.McCool October 7th, 2008 9:43 AM

Mines gotta be the huge long dialog it's so annoying!

Cynic Kaka October 7th, 2008 11:58 AM

...The neverending flashbacks.

What, we can't remember what happened 10 seconds ago?

like in PMD1, with when they run away. Hero remembers what Alakazam said 4 seconds ago.

PMD2:

Partner repeats what he said,

The Dimensional Screm and touching things connection

Dusknoir's looooong speech about what happens with Parylisis, *2 damn flashbacks of that*

and, The Luminous Spring thing (3 flashbacks)

Donnie October 7th, 2008 3:07 PM

PMD 1:

Finding Mew!
ohmygosh that was annoying!
over 60 floors that you have to completely look through
WITH the music box equiped
and even IF you find Mew you have a low chance of befriending him
GAHH

Skaterzpenguin October 7th, 2008 3:12 PM

The flashbacks are rele annoying... The game makes everyone talk so much... -_-

Arrmegedden October 7th, 2008 3:31 PM

I got a list.
Hunger
Monster houses
traps
recruiting
the dialog
99 floor dungeons
the STUPID quiz at the start.
Why cant you be what you want.
evolving is wierd.
Buying friend areas.
Legendarys are very weak.
and those are some of the dumb things.

EmpoleMew October 8th, 2008 2:49 PM

Bosses in PMD are too hard, but the bosses in PMD 2 are ridiculously easy. (Only one that I could say gave me trouble was Illusion Groudon.) Lunatones and Solrocks using Rock Polish.

And the fact that both games had practically the same ending. Only difference in PMD 2 was that Dialga brings you back because your partner missed you so much. In the first one, you just come back with no explanation. (Yes, that's spelled right.)

Dunsparce October 9th, 2008 5:52 AM

The whole sereis is too east for my taste, as it's more easier on you than other Dungeon Crawlers:

-You don't lose ALL of your Items and Money when you faint like other games of the Genre
-You keep the experience you earend if you faint(a more common featurein older games).
-You have 4 characters to attack opponents (Most other games I've played in the Genre allowed 1-2 Characters at a time)
-There are basically infinite enimies on each floor, allowing you to rack up experience more quickly (Other games usually have a set number, making it harder to blow through a dungeon's boss)

Ultimo Spriter October 9th, 2008 6:02 AM

the most annoying thing in both are flashblacks and hunger(.:laughs secretly and shins action replay:.) and in pmd2 evolving u and ur partner cause u have to do all this stuff.

Kirakishou October 9th, 2008 7:37 AM

In Red/Blue Rescue Team, I would say recruitment. It was nigh-on impossible to recruit anything anything than a first evolution, meaning if you wanted to recruit one of every Pokemon to your rescue team, you had to train them all from their first evolution. That was frustrating and boring, putting it mildly.

In Explorers of Time/Darkness, it was Aegis Cave. Those Unown Stones were infuriatingly difficult to get sometimes, and most of them are absolutely useless.

Still, these games are much more satisfying than Diamond or Pearl, despite this.

groudonlover October 9th, 2008 12:34 PM

Lvl 1 Dungeons, and that my newrecruited Groudon can't even do Lightning Field! OMG! He is a GROUND-TYPE!
And that meanless quiz in the beginning, even if some of the questions was pretty funny(like the human-hand in the toilet xD). And first time you play/after deleted Data you had to see the WHOLE INTRO AGAIN!! How fun is it really to watch a Pellipper sloooooowlyyy fly around in 20 minutes!

coolcatkim22 October 9th, 2008 1:26 PM

I would have to say it is the dumb characters.
Honestly, who allows kids to go off with a stranger?
Have they never heard of stranger danger?

1. The Opening Quiz in PMD2.
Okay, I'll admit it, I looked up a quiz walkthrough to get the starter I wanted, but even then, I still had to do the quiz several times. This was because the quiz never gave me enough of the right questions to contribute to the nature I wanted. And every time I had to restart the quiz, I had to sit through that too-long, boring intro movie.

2. I like the dialogue, but there is a bit too much of it at times. It's not so bad when it's informative and meaningful dialogue, but there were times when I just wanted to shout "Get on with it, already!" to my DS. The characters tend to repeat the same things from time to time (this includes both flashbacks and characters just saying things they or other characters said already). As well, the number of times characters state the obvious really gets on my nerves...

Example:
(Flara (1) and Cherri (2) are locked in a gloomy-looking jail cell with heavily barred doors.)
Cherri: Uh, Flara... I think this is... a jail...
(No, really, Cherri?)

3. Aegis Cave.
The Ice dungeon wasn't too bad - it took me only two run-throughs to collect the letters to spell "Ice". The Rock one, though... I had to go through that dungeon at least five times before I had all the proper stones. I had to go through the Rock dungeon so many times, in fact, that by the time I'd collected all the stones to spell "Rock", I'd also collected all the stones to spell "Steel". I was able to completely skip the Steel dungeon.

4. Though I love the monster houses and find the traps bring some excitement to the dungeons, the Grimer traps drive me up the wall. I hate having my entire supply of food ruined just by stepping on a few of these traps - it's especially bad in long dungeons where the apples are sparse. To get around this, I usually have to make my characters eat Grimy Food just before leaving a floor, so that I won't have to put up with the bad side effect of the Grimy Food for long.

5. Escort Missions. My major source of loss of Reviver Seeds. I know they're supposed to be difficult, but they just get flat-out frustrating at times. I hate lugging that fifth wheel around and having to constantly protect it from the dungeon's enemies (which, in most cases, would knock it out in one or two hits if given the chance). I hate having that thing use up one Reviver Seed after another, an item which I usually don't have much of, and which I try to save for my main team members in case of an emergency. Escort missions are great for experience, but I almost always have to restock my Reviver Seed stores after completing one.

6. This isn't really something that can be avoided, but the recruiting of weak Pokemon annoys me. It's expecially bad if my level is high and I'm re-visiting older dungeons. Practically every Pokemon asks to join my team after I defeat them. I try to keep only one of each kind of Pokemon on my team, so all these Pokemon asking to join my team are nothing but an annoyance to me.

(1) Player character in my PMD2 file; a Cyndaquil.
(2) Partner character in my PMD2 file; a Chikorita.

Kamakazai October 11th, 2008 8:38 AM

OMG I am so sick and tired of the battle againts dialga, whatever I do i can't beat him! Anybody got some tips?

p.s. I use mudkip and chimchar

Turtwigpal October 11th, 2008 5:45 PM

The worst: Confusion Traps. You get unconfused, but your next step is on the trap! And hunger is pretty annoying.

extramaster October 11th, 2008 10:14 PM

The place where you get jirachi in mystery dungeon 1 because your pokemon's level (temporarly)changes to lv 1

groudonlover October 14th, 2008 12:30 AM

There is no Type-immunities, everything except for your starter gets OHKO of ANYTHING!
I tried to do Thunderwave Cave with my new Mewtwo, but he fainted from a ZIGZAGOON!
Same thing with Groudon in Northern Range and Lightning Field.
Earthquake hits your friends, i tried to do something(cant remember what...) with a Golem and Zapdos, i used Earthquake and Zapdos faints...
Except for the Lightningrod Effect, wich makes all Electric moves unusable, Mt. Thunder is IMPOSSIBLE to do with Pikachu!

Sexycheese October 14th, 2008 12:48 AM

Ohhh it has to be purity forest grrr that was sooo anyoing!!!!

CHG-Swampert October 14th, 2008 2:57 AM

I just beat Dialga again lol. He's actually not that hard but the Temporal Spire is GAY. I get hit by Discharge with those stupid Porygon-Zs I have Turtwig who always gets paralyzed by it and Mudkip who doesnt get paralyzed but it does serious damage to him. Lol I'm glad i dont have to go back there... Zero Isle is also just awful...

and yeah i remember you from serebii Mew heheh

groudonlover October 14th, 2008 11:56 AM

Electabuzz + Thunderpunch in Mt. Thunder...
Hurt more than half my HP, and NEVER DIES!!!!!!!!!
I hate Electabuzz!
And the move Screech, harshly lolwers your Defense, my lvl 75 blaziken gets HURT!
First time this century, he usually only take 0-1 HP, and rarely 2-5, but now he takes around 30 dmg!
And hunger and sticky traps.
But, of course there is good things too... Like....... um, can't remember...

Trap-Eds October 18th, 2008 9:49 AM

Mostly everything I dislike about this game is in PMD2. Evolving, for example. In the first game, all I had to do to get an evolve stone was go to a certain dungeon. But in PMD2, they're sold in the dungeon shops and the Kecleon there has every other stone except for a ThunderStone!!! Man!!

And on that note on finding items, why is it that all the HMS and original legendaries are in Final Maze?! You can't even find them unless you have this certain item!! There coulda had a whole bunch of dungeons to explore to find the legends!!

Recruting Pokemon...I love how it's now easier to get more than one Friend Bow, and that when you recruit someone you don't have to complete the dungoen for them to become a permanent member; but what happened to their cute little phrases? And Friend Areas?

And lastly, the music. Most of it is awesome, especially Diagla's. But I don't like the remixes of Monster House[hey, that's a movie!!] the boss battle, and the legend music much. In PMD1, this music was the best in the game!! And they changed it to this!!

Oh well, the game card can only hold so much.

AsugetRanzo October 18th, 2008 10:14 AM

I don't like all the dialogue..

groudonlover October 18th, 2008 1:36 PM

Cyndaquil's "Face Pics"!
They all looks the same, and completely pathetic...
And this music is better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9alNcOd083c&feature=related

The original sounded nicer...
And now this thread is for discussing Boss Music??
