What GBA Games can you clone in?

just wondering,

thanks..........

aaronburnsyou October 11th, 2008 7:34 PM

I'm pretty sure you can only do it on Emerald Version. I don't specifically know how, but I know it involves the Battle Tower's PC.

BlueEew October 11th, 2008 7:39 PM

Another one...?

It is Emerald. I shouldn't be telling you though as cloning IS bad. ^.^

MrsMime October 11th, 2008 7:39 PM

Yup it's just Emerald. Kind of a long process. It goes like this:
  1. Go to the PC in the battle tower.
  2. Deposit the Pokemon you want to clone in any box in Lanette’s PC. Furthermore, if you wish to clone items, give the item(s) you’d like to clone to any Pokemon in the PC via the Move Items option.
  3. Exit the PC and save the game.
  4. Withdraw the Pokemon or item(s) from the PC that you initially stored in step two.
  5. Talk to the lady behind the counter closest to the PC (The one furthest to the right).
  6. She will ask if you want to make a challenge. Select yes and choose any two eligible Pokemon from your party.
  7. She will tell you that you must save the game before making a challenge and ask you if that is OK. Select yes.
  8. The game will freeze for approximately 2 seconds.
  9. After, but not during, the freeze, turn off the game. It is not necessary to save again. (Careful though, Turning the game off during the pause may result in a permanent loss of game data.)
  10. Once you’ve turned the game back on, the cloned Pokemon and/or item(s) will be both in your party and in the PC.
And there you go!

groudonlover October 11th, 2008 11:31 PM

You can clone in Emerald, D/P/Pt, G/S/C, R/B/Y.
in C/S/C you:
1. Save in front of any PC with Bill's PC-access(Pokecenter, The gate-house before Sudowoodo, Daycare etc.)
2. Deposit in an EMPTY BOX! or this won't work, if you have to switch box you have to repeat step 1 again
3. click [CHANGE BOXES] or what it is called... and choose ANOTHER EMPTY BOX, when it saves, turn off the Power after the word "Saving... D" has appeared
4. Turn the power on, and you should be standing in front of the PC, with the cloned Pokemon BOTH in your PC, and your Party, and Held Items will also be on both places.
I know this works, i have tested it, and have 58x Masterballs, 3x Meganium and 2x Sudowoodo XD

In R/B/Y, i don't know exactly how you do, but it is something with unplugging the Linkcable while Trading, so one Pokemon Disappears, and the other is on both player's GameBoys. I don't have a GB/GBC Link cable so i can't test it. This also works on G/S/C.

On Emerald, MrsMime has just told us how to do

On D/P/Pt you:
1. Deposit the Pokemon in the GTS in Jubilife City
2. Set IMPOSSIBLE REQUIREMENTS! Such as a Lvl 100 Bidoof for a Lvl 5 Bidoof, if you are cloning an item, or -9 Jirachi if you are Cloning a Pokemon
3. Turn off the power at a specific time, that varies from time to time, so you never know when you should, but it is just before the save finishes
4. Turn on and get the Pokemon Back from the GTS
OBS! This has a 1% chance of corrupting your save completely if done wrong, i haven't tried this one, as i am saving money to get a DS...

Just a note: please do not bypass the four words and 25 characters rules. Try to make your posts longer. Thanks.

World King October 12th, 2008 12:35 AM

The only GBA game you can naturally clone in, is in Emerald and MrsMime just explained how. Other GBA Games use Action Replay or Gameshark codes to do so.

Absolutely right, although this only works on the Japanese versions. :)

groudonlover October 13th, 2008 10:33 AM

WUT?
Now only the Japaneses can Clone???
First they are alone of being able to Tweak and Surf Glitch(yes, i have been reading of G4 Glitches on Bulbapedia), and now they are alone of the CLONING TOO?????????
Is it the same thing for the Seal Bag?
A game without glitches is not that fun as one with...

Skaterzpenguin October 13th, 2008 10:36 AM

you can clone pokemon in any version from red to diamond now... lol

That's fake, you can't clone in Ruby, Sapphire, Fire Red or Leaf Green. Check Groudonlover's post, it's the most complete in the thread.

well I remember my friend showed me something on youtube cloning in firered, so idk... -_-

groudonlover October 13th, 2008 11:21 AM

Proably a fake video, i know a lot about glitches and bugs in Pokemon, from MissingNo, .M and Jack to "The Surf Glitch" and "DP Tweaking"

glitchhunter09 October 13th, 2008 11:36 AM

Actually a glitch website I go to says that it can be done RBY style in R/S and FR/LG. So far everything else I've read on that site is true. However I don't recomend trying this as bad things can happen.

groudonlover October 13th, 2008 11:58 AM

Well, i am not gonna try it, as i don't like that you must sacrify one of your pokemon and it has a big chanse of deleting your save...

glitchhunter09 October 13th, 2008 1:30 PM

Exactly my point. I lost an important Leafgreen savefile due to the game freezing during saving. It deleted my save file rather than corrupting it. Turns out the cartridge connector was damaged. Most likely due to my constant use of Gameshark SP. Luckily I have a leafgreen rom so I can play with GS SP codes all I want.

This is only relevant to the conversation because it has similar effects to the cloning glitches.

groudonlover October 13th, 2008 2:48 PM

I am using cloning in Gold all the time, i have 23x Masterball and owned 7th Kanto-gym(Blue, Ground) with a team of Meganiums!
-You can use the GS Cloning to get all Starters too-
And Cloning is ALWAYS dangerous, as the whole point in it is to corrupt the save file sightly, but not that much so it becomes unusable, just enough for it to register a movement of a Pokemon, but not removing it from where the original was.

glitchhunter09 October 13th, 2008 4:39 PM

True. There is a risk in gold of a horrible glitch with trainer house where you fight glitched trainers instead of regular ones. It is in the official glitch thread in the GSC section if you want to hear my scary story.

groudonlover October 16th, 2008 8:00 AM

... lol MG with a Remote...
If you play in a Phone Emulator you don't have to worry about that :)
And that R/B/Y Style Cloning actually have a bigger chance of Corrupting/Deleting your save than giving you a Clone...

~Night October 16th, 2008 3:55 PM

I lost my Emerald version and it has my team of cloned Mews )=

I also clone in G/S/C versions, though one time in Silver version something funny happened
I had a Scyther and cloned it (it had no nickname) after cloning it, I found that the clone had the nickname EKANS.

Only the Japanese versions of D/P can clone, at least that's what I heard. It involves the GTS. I'm not sure about Platinum, though; they may have worked it out so that you can't anymore. Don't quote me on this, I just heard it on Serebii.

groudonlover October 18th, 2008 4:20 AM

Well, if serebii says that you cant, then you provably can't...

~Night October 18th, 2008 11:47 AM

Maybe the last game the pokemon company ever makes will have all the pokemon, but that would be sad, because then we would have no more pokemon games to look forward to )=

~Night

groudonlover October 18th, 2008 11:56 AM

Yes... Very sad :(
But, then you won't have to worry about buying a new console to play latest Pokemon, as you already have the last game :)
But it still would be sad...

~Night October 18th, 2008 12:24 PM

*nods*

I hope that on the last game {that probably won't come for a long time(another decade, maybe? o.o)} will be based on the anime! Or maybe the Johto regions again, that was the best region in my opinion.

Nope. Your wrong.

English versions work too.

If you don't believe me, watch Emerald Videos in Youtube.

groudonlover October 19th, 2008 4:44 AM

If you watch Emerald Videos on YouTube, you would see the Emerald Cloning Glitch, but this was about D/P Cloning glitch!

~Night October 19th, 2008 10:11 AM

There is a D/P cloning glitch that works in the english version, but it's only for the earlier releases of it. It involves the GTS and fifty-billion times of trying because of precise timing. I don't really remember how to do it, but I think you put the pokemon you want to clone in the GTS system, and then when the mini clock at the bottom circles 7 1/2 times turn it off. If you do it wrong, either nothing will happen, or the pokemon will get deleted.

I wasn't referring to Emerald, or any other versions actually, I was referring only to D/P.
Note also that I said not to quote me on it because I heard it on Serebii. And I heard this from everybody in the chat, not on the site itself. Again why I said not to quote me on it.

minchan October 23rd, 2008 7:07 PM

I don't clone my pokemon except for when migrating them to my diamond version. since I wanna keep them in both games, I trade from fr/lg/r/s to emerald firts to clone hem before sending them off to sinnoh. I think that's a pretty effective thing to do!! I use the battle tower pc trick. I was amazed when it actually worked for the first time.

the GTS thingy didn't work for me, even thought I tried it like 20 times. Oh well.

poddish October 24th, 2008 9:11 AM

You can clone in ANY pkmn game (except the counsel ones)
In emerald, you use the battle tower,
in the other adv. gen. games you clone in a way that is very similar to the original cloning glitch in r/b/y, although it is alot harder to do this time around.

Oh ya, the only way to clone in crystal is to trade w/ r/b/y and clone the old way, although I don't know if you have to turn off crystal or r/b/y...

As far as I know they removed the pc cloning glitch in he american crystal because it doesn't work for me at all, and the emerald glitch was removed in later copies of this game...

Really?? Well I guess I wouldn't know since I pre-ordered my copy. ^^

How do you know that? (just wondering)
