Help my team!

Hey I'm making a new team and need some serious rating. OK, here it goes.

Kind of counter-productive to put Special defense EV's on an exclusively physical wall. Moveset is fine.

[email protected] Scarf
Timid
Evs: 252 Sp. atk/252 Speed
Shadow Ball
Hidden Power (Ice)
ThunderBolt
Focus Blast

As long as it's Timid, it's fine.

[email protected] Life Orb/Expert Belt
Adamant
Evs: 252 Atk/252 Speed
Thunder Punch
Ice Punch
Cross Chop
Earthquake

Focus Sash on Vire is bleh...LO or Expert Belt. Adamant nature...moveset is fine.

[email protected] Belt/Life Orb
Jolly
Evs: 252 Atk/252 Speed
Flare Blitz
Thunder Punch/Stone Edge
Sword Dance
Close Combat

You don't need two fire STAB's....especially those inferior to Flare Blitz. Sword Dance if you're going on with an all out physical attacker.

[email protected] Choice Specs
Modest
Evs: 252 Sp. atk/252 Speed
Dark Pulse
Vacuum Wave
Aura Sphere
Dragon Pulse/HP Ice

Specs Luke would be more beneficial...and it hits way harder. Psychic has horrible type-coverage...I'd go with Vacuum wave for a powerful priority move. HP Ice instead of Dragon Pulse if you like. Modest nature please.

[email protected]
Nature:Careful
Evs:252 HP/144 Atk/114 Sp. def
-Sucker Punch/Taunt
-Pursuit/Taunt
-Pain Split
-Will-O-Wisp

Fine. Taunt can be used in place of Sucker Punch or Pursuit if you like.

Comments in bold

I appreciate all help.

Lead with Spiritomb....Donphan can't lead for crap. You don't need both Electivire and Infernape...I'd drop Electivire for a reliable special wall (Blissey is the obvious choice), of which you have none =(....Otherwise, decent ^_^

FirelordBlaze October 20th, 2008 7:36 AM

yeah donphan has def ev's. that was a big mistype. i also added the natures. thought i had those there. thanks for the advice i appreciate it.

F-F-Franklin October 20th, 2008 7:48 AM

I would switch Donphan/Gengar for Gar' leading.

Lead with Spiritomb or Gengar.
Just helped with the movesets.
I'll do more rating when I finish eating.

is there any way to keep gengar modest? or will it be quite detremental to my team? i dont have a way to get a timid one.

Well, Timid would help more as Gengar is really a slow pokemon and the speed boost would do him the world of good. Modest would be quite useless as Gengar already has a high Sp.Atk and when that Nature boost could be given to one of its lower stats I think it's not the best Idea to have modest. Timid definately.

Get Timid by breeding it with another Gengar/Haunter/Ghastly or Ditto Until you geet Timid natured Ghastly and then train that up.

Timid lets you outspeed Deoxys.

Gengar is definitely not slow. We use timid over modest because It lets you outspeed/revenge kill more Pokemon, including max speed Deoxys. Have timid instead of modest doesn't really change any of Gengar's ohkos to a 2hko or a 2hko to a 3hko.

Sig'd.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Gengar should run Timid to outspeed Deoxys-S here.

Physical Vire is too easily walled, and Expert Belt as item should you somehow want to keep it. Also no Electric weaks mean this guy is in the wrong team sadly

Mix Infernape up.

SpecsLuke is outclassed by MixLuke. Use that instead.

Use Spiritomb as lead.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Lack of a RestTalker and a special wall worries me how this team will fare somewhat. Gyara weakness is present, add Kingdra onto the list if this is for Shoddy. Also this team has trouble with Skymin as Scizor if for Shoddy as well. Get rid of Electivire for something like Rotom-H and you should be fine better.

StrickeN October 20th, 2008 1:27 PM

Actually I have a lead Donphan with 252 sp. defense, he's a great lead pokemon because he offers a lot of support and allows him to set up with out Sruf or GK taking him down

I appreciate all help.

You have a very glaring tyranitar weakness, especially if its LO DD. Gyara can also give you some problems, since it can outspeed Vire unless Motor Drive kicks in.

FirelordBlaze October 21st, 2008 3:59 AM

I planed to use rotom-H, but i do not have platnium. that is definatly and add in after i get it but there is nothing i can really do now. any suggestions to replace vire for something more effective?

Ew how is he T-tar weak with both donphan AND Lucario 0.o.

What i would suggest is dropping donphan since it does nothing for this team as you dont require a spinner (and because spinners suck outside of stall anyway) id use standard Lum Zong >>it.

[email protected] Berry
252 HP /74 ATT / 110 DEF / 74 SP.DEF
Relaxed Nature
Trit : Levitate
- Gyro Ball
- Earthquake
- Hypnosis
- Stealth Rock

This would give you a better lead.

Specs Lucario plox.

[email protected] specs
252 sp.att / 252 speed / 6 def
Modest Nature
- Vacuum Wave
- Aura Sphere
- Hidden Power Ice
- Shadow Ball

This gives your team a check to tar along with zong and allows you to nab stuff with priority.

Next, foe sd lucario and other fighters are a pain for you i suggest a bulky dd roost mence >> tomb who does nothing for this team: -

[email protected]
224 hp / 12 att / 192 def / 80 speed
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Roost
- Earthquake

You also lack a switch in to Heatran and Gyarados (sure you can revenge it with gar but meh, having to sacrifice something each time is comes in is bad) so try this >> ape or vire : -

[email protected]
188 hp / 252 def / 70 sp.def
bold nature
- hidden power electric
- surf
- wish
- protect

also supports you team with wish

SO : -

Lum Zong
specs luke
ape or vire
dd bulky roost mence
scarf gar
vappy

petty much.

EDIT : And vire wants a life orb with Fire Punch >>EQ so your not complete zong/forry fodder xp.

Leonix October 21st, 2008 11:21 AM

Your team is ground weak my friend. If gengar is out for the count this gives you problems. I would suggest roserade because of its speed, high special attack and it's pretty cool. Replace it with electivire cuz its slow n sucks eggs.

The Hero Without a Name October 21st, 2008 2:05 PM

Roserade's slower than Electivire o_o

Bronzong @ Leftovers
252 HP / 86 Att / 80 Def / 92 Special Def
Sassy Nature
~Hypnosis
~Stealth Rock
~Earthquake
~Gyro Ball
Might help the team a tad. Since Donphan isnt really accomplishing much so Bronzong is going to come in and save the day. Standard. Lum zong works as well.

Your Gengar is ok.

Lucario @ Life Orb
252 Att / 252 Speed / 4 HP
Adamant
~Swords Dance
~Bullet Punch
~Close Combat
~Crunch
Swords Dance to boost his 110 base attack stat. Close Combat for STAB and Crunch to complete the unresisted Dark/fighting. Bullet Punch to knock out speedy foes: Weavile, Aerodactyl, Gengar, Mismagious, Deoxy-s and Tyranitar (if it's the DD and/or scarf version as CC will deal with anything else)

Electivire @ Expert Belt
76 Att / 252 Special Att / 180 Speed
Mild
~Thunderbolt
~Flamethrower
~Hidden Power [Ice]
~Cross Chop
Mixvire ftw, hits the appropriate pokemons in there weak stats. Tbolt has a larger damage output then tpunch. Flamthrower hits peesky steels. HP Ice for bulky grounds ie Hippowdon and Cross Chop for Blissey and friends.(Ttar for an added bonus)

FirelordBlaze October 22nd, 2008 8:34 AM

ok. so the way i see it, i will have to change 3 pokemon completely, so this is what i was thinking, after looking at all the posts

Bronzong @ Leftovers
252 HP / 86 Att / 80 Def / 92 Special Def
Sassy Nature
~Hypnosis
~Stealth Rock
~Earthquake
~Gyro Ball

Gengar @ Choice Scarf
Nature:Modest/timid(if possible)
Evs: 252 Sp. atk/252 Speed
Shadow Ball
Hidden Power (Ice)
ThunderBolt
Focus Blast

Electivire @ Life Orb
Nature:Adament
Evs: 252 Atk/252 Speed
Thunder Punch
Ice Punch
Cross Chop
Fire Punch

Vaporeon @ leftovers
188 hp / 252 def / 70 sp.def
bold nature
- hidden power electric
- surf
- wish
- protect

[email protected] specs
252 sp.att / 252 speed / 6 def

- Vacuum Wave

- Dragon Pulse
- Shadow Ball

Salamence @ leftovers
224 hp / 12 att / 192 def / 80 speed
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Roost
- Earthquake

Thanks again for all the help

The Hero Without a Name October 22nd, 2008 2:37 PM

Scrap Vire, or at least use MixVire. Physical Vire isn't gonna do you that much good.

StrickeN October 22nd, 2008 7:33 PM

My MixVire set which works pretty good is....

Electiver @ Expert Belt (or LO w/e you prefer)
Rash/Naive
252 Attack / 176 speed / 76 Sp. Attack
Flame thrower
Ice Punch
Tbolt
Cross Chop

It served mainly as a wall breaker, but I found it to be very Electivre weak in his own. Some one could probably re-edit that set and give you a better Mixvire set.

but thats just one I made. It worked wonders, after a Tbolt boost (i usually buckled him with gyara) it was one hell of a wall breaker.

Skip Shot October 22nd, 2008 8:28 PM

If your using this on a Platinum server, then I wouldn't recommend Hypnosis on Zong due to its 60%. If you want a good sleeper, I would go with the following set:

Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Adamant/Jolly Nature- Poison Heal
252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 6 HP

Spore
Protect
Mach Punch
Stone Edge

This thing stops Tyranitar, Heatran, and Gyara cold. Protects to scout for sleep, while Toxic Orb activates, giving you nice recovery- and a status absorber.

Dragon Pulse on Luke is meh.. I prefer HP Ice. Also, Focus Blast>> Aura Sphere.

For the record, it's resisted by Heracross.

Electivire @ Expert Belt
76 Att / 252 Special Att / 180 Speed
Mild
~Thunderbolt
~Flamethrower
~Hidden Power [Grass]

Grass hits most things for the same damage, but also hits Swampert, who would ruin your fun. It really depends on whether you fear Swampert or Gliscor more.
