First Day On PC's Shoddy Server [UberChomp Vs. Jake]

Introduction
Well, after being a member for a little while on PC, I started talking with Vance alot and he got me into shoddy. I then proceeded to make a team and go on PC's shoddy server. Right when I connected to the server and started chating on the main chat I was challenged to many battles, most of them I lost, but some I won. This is my first-ever battle log. This battle was also made even more fun thanks to D_A's hilarious comments. (I did not post the comments on this log sadly, there were too many of them, lol) I hope you enjoy this battle log, overall.

6-6 [TIE]

UberChomp sent out Swampert
Jake sent out Spiritomb
Spiritomb is exerting its pressure!
Swampert used Stealth Rock
Pointed stones float in the air around your foe's team!
Spiritomb used Will-o-wisp
Spiritomb's attack missed!

---
So far so good, my Swampert was able to set up Stealth Rock without receiving any damage from my opponent's Spiritomb, thankfully the Spiritomb's Will-o-wisp missed, I'm glad I don't have to deal with any annoying burn.

6-6 [TIE]

Jake switched in Bronzong
Pointed stones dug into Bronzong.
Bronzong lost 6% of its health.
Swampert used Stealth Rock
But it failed!
Bronzong's leftovers restored its health a little!
Bronzong restored 6% of its health.

---
Lol, I know you are laughing too, because I accidentally used Stealth Rock again, which is already set up, lol I hope I don't get too hurt because of that silly mistake.

6-6 [TIE]

UberChomp switched in Heatran
Bronzong used Stealth Rock
Jake switched in Blissey
Pointed stones dug into Blissey
Blissey lost 12% of its health

Blissey's leftovers restored its health a little!
Blissey restored 6% of its health.
Heatran used Dragon Pulse
Blissey lost 13% of its health.
Blissey used Thunder Wave
Heatran is paralysed! It may be unable to move!
Blissey's leftovers restored its health a little!
Blissey restored 6% of its health.

---
I tried to switch in Heatran to melt his Bronzong away, he switched in Blissey though, which soaked up my Fire Blast without any problem. I thought I could take down this Blissey with some neutral attacks, but that stupid idea cost me some status, now my beastly Heatran is paralyzed :(

6-6 [TIE]

UberChomp switched in Tyranitar
Tyranitar's Sand Stream whipped up a sandstorm!
A sandstorm brewed!
Pointed stones dug into Tyranitar.

Tyranitar's leftovers restored its health a little!
Tyranitar restored 6% of its health.
Blissey's leftovers restored its health a little!
Blissey restored 6% of its health.

---
Not much has happened but, I did manage to switch in Tyranitar, but at the price of a Blissey using Softboiled, now I have to kill this fast before it causes any more status.

6-6 [TIE]

Jake switched in Bronzong

Tyranitar used Stone Edge
It's not very effective...

The sandstorm rages.
Tyranitar's leftovers restored its health a little!
Tyranitar restored 6% of its health.
Bronzong's leftovers restored its health a little!
Bronzong restored 6% of its health.

---
I used Stone Edge even though I knew it wasn't super effective against Bronzong, I did this because I was hoping for a critical hit, I wanted one so I wouldn't have to switch out again to deal with this thing. I wanted it dead. But that didn't happen.

Tyranitar used Crunch
Bronzong lost 40% of its health.
Bronzong used Earthquake
It's super effective!
Tyranitar lost 39% of its health.
The sandstorm rages.
Tyranitar's leftovers restored its health a little!
Tyranitar restored 6% of its health.
Bronzong's leftovers restored its health a little!

My Tyranitar gladly Crunched on Bronzong, which took off a good chunk of health, also my Tyranitar gladly soaked up an Earthquake from this annoying and long-lasting Bronzong.

Tyranitar restored 6% of its health.

---
He switched in Spiritomb without me killing off his Bronzong >_< Good thing the Crunch dealt a good amount of damage, I am glad I killed this thing off with a 2HKO. So far it doesn't look like he has any great counters against my beastly Tyranitar, lets hope this Tyranitar lasts longer and continues to help my team kill his team off.

Haha, I'm finally glad to get rid of his annoying Bronzong with a Life Orb'd Draco Meteor. Let's hope my Salamence can continue through with Life Orb and a Sand storm sucking away his health slowly.

Gengar used Hidden Power
It's super effective!

Gengar is buffetted by the sandstorm!
Gengar lost 6% of its health.

---
Awww...my Salamence couldn't survive the huge Hidden Power given off by his Gengar. Let's see what I can do to get rid of that thing.

Machamp lost 6% of its health.
Swampert's leftovers restored its health a little!
Swampert restored 6% of its health.

---
Great, now I have to deal with this four-armed beast, I hope Swampert can do atleast something to him. I hope this Machamp doesn't carry the No Guard ability and Dynamic Punches his way through the battle. Let's see how I deal with it, because so far the STAB'd Waterfall didn't do much.

5-4 [UberChomp]

UberChomp switched in Jirachi

Jirachi lost 6% of its health.

Machamp's defence was lowered.
Machamp's special defence was lowered.
The sandstorm rages.
Machamp is buffetted by the sandstorm!
Machamp lost 6% of its health.

---
Grr...I wanted to send my special sweeper, Jirachi in, to send off a Calm Mind then Psychic. It didn't even last, he OHKO'd that poor little thing. I hope his Machamp doesn't kill my team like it just did my Jirachi. :(

---
That Swampert was bound to die anyway, its lasted the whole battle, incredibly. I tried to Stone Edge to get a cheap critical hit off this beast, but once again, that idea failed. When will I kill this beast off?

The sandstorm rages.
Gengar is buffetted by the sandstorm!
Gengar lost 6% of its health.

---
Lol, I try being weird and statusing his Blissey with a Poison Jab. That didn't do the job so I took that thing off with a Focus Blast! Woot! The critical hit came in at the right time and the Focus Blast cleared that fat wall out. Now I just have to worry about his Machamp that is bound to come in again and wreak havoc on my team.

Starmie's leftovers restored its health a little!

Oh well, his Starmie killed off my helpful Gengar. I hope I can take this Starmie down fast so I'll just have one problem left: Machamp.

Tyranitar used Crunch
It's super effective!
Starmie lost 129% of its health.
Jake's Starmie fainted.

---
Unbelievable, my beastly Tyranitar survived his Starmie's Surf and now I can kill it off without a problem! Crunch and the problem is solved. Now that his Starmie is out of the way...I need to take his already severely-hurt Machamp.

2-1 [UberChomp]

The sandstorm rages.
Tyranitar's leftovers restored its health a little!
Tyranitar restored 6% of its health.
Jake switched in Machamp
Pointed stones dug into Machamp
Machamp lost 6% of its health.
Jake's Machamp fainted.
UberChomp wins!

---
Lol, my Tyranitar doesn't even have to do a thing, good ol' Stealth Rock did the job and finished that Machamp off. I win!

2-0 Victory - [UberChomp]

[PROS]
-Jake for being very humorous throughout the battle also for being consistent and challenging.
-My weird Gengar for killing off two very big components in Kyle's team.
-My Tyranitar for not only killing off some pokemon, but for staying alive throughout the battle and helping my team win.
-Jake's Machamp for causing some havoc and giving me a hard time to kill.
-Jake's Blissey and Bronzong for being great walls against my team.

[CONS]
-My Jirachi for being useless and not doing his job, it has a ton of potential and can do much more than what he did.

I really loved this battle log. It's one of the few I actually read over to see if I missed any important details. The battle itself was excellent, and that Gengar really proved to be useful (Sucker Punch is an awesome move) Perhaps the main reason I'm so jovial about this log is because Tyranitar's late game sweep. I was really loving how many hits it took and how it dealt damage right back. Although I sort of question the use of Poison Jab on Gengar; wouldn't Sludge Bomb be better since it's stronger AND is special? It also has the same chance to poison the target. Plus, Gengar has more Special Attack than Attack even if you max his attack out and lower his SpA and then use a -SpA nature.

Overall, and excellent battle. Looking forward to seeing many others from ya, UberChomp.

BeachBoy October 19th, 2008 9:24 AM

Some parts (or maybe just one? I don't know) you messed up with the color, that got a bit confusing, I guess. XD;

"Swampert restored 6% of its health.
Machamp used Close Combat
Swampert lost 63% of its health.
UberChomp's Swampert fainted."

Beginner's jitters though. :P Just make sure you thoroughly run through it numerous times afterwords. The logs (by that I mean some turns) smacked together was a bit eh, but not too bad. (If you can't find some commentary, talk about what you think about your opponent's team and how your strategy is kicking, etc)
Otherwise, a great battle log. Tyranitar never ceases to tear teams in half. XD; Gengar was deceptive and kinky, I liked it. :D I think you could've really improved it by cutting useless lines. (Like Sandstorm did 6% etc, when it already says it hits, and so forth)

An enjoyable battle log, I'd say. :) Well done, UberChomp.

Zetta-Chan October 19th, 2008 9:25 AM

I really liked this log, sounds like it was a great battle.

Lucky 1276 October 19th, 2008 10:28 AM

I don't think you should have switched jirachi into machamp..it was kinda predictable he was going to use a fighting attack. You could've saved yourself some trouble and just switched in gengar.

Thanks Vance, I owe this all to you, no joke. You are the one who got me into shoddy, and I can't stop thanking you for that. You're awesome. :D

Also, that makes so much sense, I'm going to edit my team right now because of that, Sludge Bomb > Poison Jab, it's common sense, it was a noob mistake on my part.

Thank you, when I construct my next battle log I'll remember these tips. I'll also go fix that problem now. Thank you BeachBoy. ;)

Yeah, but I was just focused on the CM Psychic part, I wanted to OHKO him so bad with it.

I think that was a CBMachamp; it took that Stone Edge from Pert not as well as I would've expected, plus it OHKO'd Jirachi, which is o.o

It was, he was continuously Close Combating, and yes, OHKO that Jirachi was very 0.o

Thank you very much. I took a pretty good while on this, I'm glad I got good feedback from everyone. :)

Jake♫ October 19th, 2008 4:32 PM

Stupid Crit on Blissey, I probably could have won XD Oh well, it was a great match, and CBChamp rox :D And yes, my commentary was great in there :D

Archer October 19th, 2008 10:00 PM

Just for future reference, you may want to colour-code the Moves used according to the Pokemon taht used them. It helps people see who used what when they rush through it.

EG:
UberChomp sent out Swampert
Jake sent out Spiritomb
Spiritomb is exerting its pressure!
Swampert used Stealth Rock
Pointed stones float in the air around your foe's team!
Spiritomb used Will-o-wisp
Spiritomb's attack missed!

Could be:
UberChomp sent out Swampert
Jake sent out Spiritomb
Spiritomb is exerting its pressure!
Swampert used Stealth Rock
Pointed stones float in the air around your foe's team!
Spiritomb used Will-o-wisp
Spiritomb's attack missed!

Just an Idea.... Good log though.
