Looney Tunes =D

Do any of you like Looney tunes? I have an episode of it on my page, one of my favourites.

Kirakishou October 20th, 2008 10:35 AM

I prefer Tom and Jerry, but Looney Tunes are an old favourite of mine. It has a quality that isn't present in cartoons these days - no matter how many times you watch it, it is always good. I love the episode The Rabbit of Seville in particular.

They're doing a Baby Looney Tunes now...I've seen a couple of episodes. Its a lot like Tom and Jerry kids, only that was actually watchable. This is absolutely diabolical...an insult to a very good cartoon.

oh my gosh, I love Looney Tunes. I have the Merrie Melodies song on my phone. lol

That reminds me, I still have 1001 Rabbit Tales to watch later. ^^

I love the Looney Tunes gang with a passion! It's a shame they're not on TV any more.

... The Bugs Bunny & Tweety Show.

Anyway, yeah! Looney Toons are totally awesome.
I sometimes secretly wish that Sylvester would catch Tweety Bird, or Wyle E. Coyote would catch Road Runner. :x

You are right, Baby Looney tunes is HORRIBLE!. I have rabbit of seville on DVD. Daffy duck is funny

EmeraldSky October 21st, 2008 8:29 AM

Some of the best Bugs and Daffy moments are in the one called "Show Biz Bugs"

ultradarkrai October 22nd, 2008 10:19 AM

Show biz bugs is funny where Daffy thinks he is really popular, but actully Bugs is more popular. There's a similar one called A Star is bored.

EmeraldSky October 22nd, 2008 12:11 PM

They didn't show "Show Biz Bugs very much when i was growing up...

wobbadude1 October 23rd, 2008 5:18 AM

Looney Tunes is one of the best cartoons around in my opinion, so funny and witty! :D They don't make cartoons like they used to...

That's because most the creators like Chuck Jones and the actor who voices the characters Mel Blanc have since passed away :(

However they do the occassional specials nowadays like Carrotblanca (a Looney Tunes parody of Cassablanca)! Genius! :D

Rogue planet October 23rd, 2008 5:29 AM

So much better than the modern cartoons; Daffy Duck was my favourite I used to quote lines from him when I was in infants school =P

EmeraldSky October 23rd, 2008 7:05 AM

I owned a Bugs Bunny doll when I was younger.

Chuck jones only passed away recently, in 2002. Friz Freleng, Robert Mckimson and other directors died around the 70s. Rudy Larriva, a director for some mid 60's road runner cartoons is still alive.

They also recently made Looney tunes Back In action in 2003 and a Daffy Duck christmas movie in 2006. I've never seen the Daffy duck chirstmas movie.

I like daffy duck more than Bugs bunny, but i try to keep it a secret.

I actually have "Show Biz Bugs" on the "Looney Tunes Spotlight Collection #2" set.
Couldn't make a cartoon like that today! (actually, many of the Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies from 1930-69—or any other major line of theatrical cartoon anthologies from the 1920s to 1960s wouldn't meet today's censorship standards.)

McKimson died in 1977. Freleng died in 1995.

When it was still running, ABC's "Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show" was one of my favorites. (despite the many edits done to cartoons featured in the show)

ultradarkrai November 21st, 2008 1:43 PM

Chuck jones is my favourite director, but he left to make Tom and jerry cartoons in the 60's. The 60's cartoons are not the best.

I am having trouble finding some cartoons. These are caled: 14 Carrot rabbit, Rabbit every monday and Fair haired hare. If someone has these cartoons, can they please post them on Youtube please?

PS. Why are the cartoons collectively known as Looney tunes? The Merrie Melodies are the best.

also, my least favourite looney tunes cartoon is Old Glory, I find it boring.

ErickaVolt November 21st, 2008 3:47 PM

Looney Tunes is my favourite cartoon back in the old days. My favourite character was Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny. And I never knew what "Doc" means to Bugs bunny.

Tanooki November 21st, 2008 7:13 PM

I loved Looney Tunes, and I'd probably watch it regularly if it was still on TV. I'm pretty mad that Boomerang (the sub-station of Cartoon Network) decided to remove it from it's programming block, for whatever reason.

Legobricks November 22nd, 2008 5:35 PM

I've watched many an episode of various shows as I grew up but never actually liked it much... I'm honestly not sure if it's supposed to be funny or is just some kind of generic entertainment, but in most cases it seems —to me— to be closer to the latter.

Spinor November 22nd, 2008 10:33 PM

Yes, I remember the Looney Toons. I was just very young when I watched them, about 5-7 or so. But because of Cartoon Network and school, I almost never see it anymore. But during vacations I can see it sometimes in the Mexican Cartoon Network. That's an Economy that will never be below the Gringo Level :3.

In the UK (where I live) Boomerang still shows it. But in the UK, we don't get volumes 5 or 6 of Looney tunes golden collection for some stupid reason.
