Any chance I could get in on this?
What types are still available?
I'd like to do a ground- or grass-type run if possible.

Hi, if it's still free, can I have a go at Normal pokémon? I have to wait for a while, my Ruby and Sapphire were sent to Nintendo to get fixed, but they should be back soon :D

Angelic Diablo November 1st, 2008 1:38 AM

- Caught 3 Zigzagoon (Pick Up & HM Slaves)

Ok, here's the next installment!

http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/7613/darkrslt7.png
---My adventure thus far---
- Taught Seedot Bullet Seed and easily defeated Roxanne
:::Nosepass was a bit of an annoyance, but it went down pretty easily. Though Roxanne was a bit of a Potion spammer...:::
- Saved Peeko and the Devon Goods
:::I fought the Students near Rusturf tunnel, past the CUT trees, and Seedot evolved! :D:::
- Went to Dewford after talking to the Devon president
- Delivered letter to Steven
- Skipped the gym for now (my Dark types plus the gym's fighting types = bad matchup o.O)
- Headed to Slateport; defeated all the trainers on the beach and in the Soda Pop shack
- Delivered Devon Goods to Captain Stern, fought Magma Grunts; got the TM for Thief
- Went north past Slateport; defeated the first Trick Master challenge
::: Poochyena evolved in the Trick Master's house! :):::
- Fought rival and won on my second try
:::It was hard to beat my rival since she had Combusken, who unfortunately knew Double Kick and Focus Energy. Super-effective + critical hits is bad for any team. On my second try, I was a lot more offensive and defeated him pretty easily.:::
- Hacked and slashed my way up to Mauville
- Battled the trainers in the Mauville/Verdanturf area, including Wally
- Got a bike and went back down to Slateport via the Cycling Road
- Went back to Dewford and easily defeated the gym leader
:::This battle was actually pretty pathetic. He got a few hits on me, but in the end, he only did around 20 HP's worth of damage to my Mightyena, so I didn't even bother with healing items.:::
- Went back to Mauville to take the gym challenge

Sounds really fun, going to be hard but I'll do it xd (6th badge i'll be owned :P, and 7th XD)

Yeah I might've bothered showing screenshots of the enemies fainting, but the battle was too unpredictable, Metagross swept my team twice before I got lucky with the Yawn/Yawn/Hypnosis' working on him, allowing me to revive magcargo to 2ko him with flamethrower. Claydol has really, really annoying moves against a Rock monotype challenge >< I should've picked up Shadow Ball for Phoebe but just managed to hax and get a couple of +Attacks from Metal Claw early on.

All in all, definitely challenging.

Edit: Why is the Ice type banner and Ground type banners missing?

Joey the Cockroach November 4th, 2008 4:43 AM

arrgh! why didnt i see this before?!

anyway, i will take Fire if that is okay.

Braeden23000 November 4th, 2008 8:50 AM

Xaviar November 4th, 2008 3:59 PM

Just a mini-update...

Though the Dewford Gym was a piece of cake, the Mauville one is proving to be impossible >.<. Bite/Bullet Seed/SwiftNaturePower are proving to be very bad against Magneton... I traded over Larvitar so I can beat this gym.

KadabraK November 4th, 2008 4:20 PM

If it's alright, I use emerald? I can't access R/S, can't find any roms, plus I don't really like emulators.

If I can't, I'll just have to drop out :(

AssonantalZ November 7th, 2008 12:44 PM

Grass Monotype Challenge (Sapphire Version)

Trainer: Fenrir (#51962)
Badges: none
Game Time: 0:07

- Obtained Treecko and beat May
- Received Pokédex
- Traveled to Route 102

Current Team:
Treecko lv06 - Pound, Leer, Absorb

Not much, I know, but I always start slowly and end quickly.
PS - How have you all put the pokémon sprites in your posts? I've tried "Insert Image" but I think the function is broken.

Angelic Diablo November 8th, 2008 5:38 PM

Basically with [img] [/img] with the link of the image between the two brackets...

Anyway, I decided to trade myself a Meditite (can't believe I didn't realise it was part psychic for ages) so I can finally take on those annoying dark types with one of my team, and not just rely on Torchic to do so.

Dewford Gym was a cakewalk, and then I struggled a bit with Wattson before trading over my Meditite, however once I tried her Magneton fell quickly with his other pokemon.

Beat out the goons at Meteor Falls and now climbing Mt Chimney to eventually take on Flannery.

It's simple I use Bulbapedia and search for the sprite I want then copy and paste it.

Juyushi November 11th, 2008 4:39 AM

If this things still up for grabs ill do an ice mono type.

Tyranitar042 November 12th, 2008 1:25 PM

I only have emerald but would love to do it with normal types if at all possible
