Occasionally. I haven't run into any so far, but I'm sure they're there.

The map is still connected as a separate area to explore with the same name by a row of four rocks at the top.

Maybe I can mock up the map together with the main islands once I check out the northern part of that lower (available) map.

As far as I know, there is no Lake Myung. I didn't translate it. I didn't know there was no Lake Myung when I translated the dialog about it, so I didn't know to remove it at the time. If you guys can point out the people who talk about it, I'll change their dialog.

And another thing, Shouldn't all fire pokemon need the abillity to learn Lava surf? Arcanine can't..
Kinda weird cuz Hydreigon can do it so why can't Arcanine...
Growlithe can, though. If I didn't make it so that Arcanine can as well, my bad. You sure you have the most updated version?

Yes there will, and no it won't. o_o

If you have updates you want to include, talk to me about it, like other people have.

And yes, I fixed the wild encounters in Mt. Draken. There is a reason I post update logs. If you want to know whether something is or isn't changed, read them.

There were quite a few pages since I last checked this thread so poke me if I overlooked anything that needed addressing.

You are lucky its still there. You have to rename your new ROM as same as that on the old save file or else you cannot play with it.

bambam112686 November 25th, 2012 11:54 PM

I am playing this game on my soft-modded wii, using the VBAgx i installed via the .WAD file i downloaded. i also have the SNES emulator on my wii as well. it plays fine as have all the other 20+ games ive played on it. I prefer this method due to being able to run the game on my big screen. my main question is this, if im running the game on my wii then how can i use cheats if i wanted to? i am not interested in running cheats but my nephew wants the masterball cheat on his save file. So how would i go about doing that?

They're in the general vicinity of Seanport, maybe the route immediately before, but I don't know any more specific than that.

And yes, people came to me with fixes of their own, and I have one more thing I can do myself, so there'll be one more update whenever they're done doing what they're doing.

Ash can do whatever he likes, I just want to incorporate whatever he does with what I want to do, whatever Cyclone does, etc. No need for multiple versions, not after all the shenanigans. I can't imagine why that'd be an issue.

This actually makes perfect sense. Perfect sense. Once I can Dive, I'll have to Fly back there and hack my way through a rock or two to the underwater Dive patches outside of Route 408's boundaries, and also the ones outside Seanport City's boundaries. I have a feeling these are connected to Lake Myang. It's possible these are only decoration (in 408 at least, but maybe not in Seanport), but it would be interesting to find out for sure if they go anywhere or not.

Make your Rom "Pokemon Light Platinum.gba" and your save file "Pokemon Light Platiunum.sav" So they have the same name.

here are the pics i just took of Seanport City, the man at the entrance to town is the first of 2 people to mention this Red Gyarados......... taken on my TV, i play on my soft modded Wii. The other person is at the top left side of the City, this one being at the bottom left........ so in my understanding, if there was once a Red Gyarados in the game, then there must still be one, maybe with the visual and the trigger removed

My save state in slot 5 was standing in front of Lucas in the Gym before battle, so I went back to that (and some of you say no to save states...) and can now confirm the script shown in these pictures matches what is in my version. As for the other, I didn't find it in the top-left:

that is the other, it was a location mistake on my part............ but it is just eating at me to find this Lake Myung........ it feels as if im searching for Atlantis or something.......... but it may be impossible to find, if it was once in the game in a different language, then the map couldnt have been altered so drastically just for the english version

Cyclone November 27th, 2012 2:38 PM

I have a feeling those Dive patches in Seanport City are somehow connected to it. Did you notice them off of the port? I turned on walking flags on the rocks in 409 to look around there and got a better view of them:

My theory is that Route 409 and Seanport City had another connection here in addition to the one down below. I figure there were rocks higher up preventing passage outside of Route 409, but allowing access to Imatari Islands as normal (the rocks eventually meeting where they go horizontalish in 409 with where Seanport's go up, still exiting in the north as seen now).

My guess is that one of those Dive patches leads to Lake Myang. I am going to test this theory after I get and can use Dive; if it's still there, it might be worth somehow readding it. (This could also be a great place to hide a sanctuary where all of the Water starters can be found. I've been suggesting to Ash to have this put in the game since we can't trade for the others like in the official games. This could be a post-E4 thing with something in the way until you defeat the Zhery E4. I am thinking of places for Grass and Fire starters.)

since i have AdvanceMap and Dive, if i go in and flag the rocks or remove them will it void my save file?

@Cyclone .......... here is my save file......... saved in Snowce City, you must go past the city to the house and get the dive HM, just go north and you will see it. This is my secondary save file.......... i have a level 50 something Lapras in the party so you shouldnt have any troubles teaching the HM, also Charizard knows Fly, as well as Dragonite.

dudebot November 27th, 2012 7:45 PM

Yo, dudebot here.

Nice game and nice story. Very similar to some of the stories of the actual Pokemon series. Simple, to the point. Former characters are a nice touch and World Championship is genius.

Now let me cut to the chase. I've got this Orange Pass from Lance after beating him in this cave. However, I have no idea how to get to Orange Island. Like, at all. So, you know, if anyone can be of any help, dudebot would greatly appreciate it.

[Also, as a side note, I had the same problem with the Dive glitch. I came up on the outside of the barricade and had to fly to the nearest town and start over again. Nothing to bad, just might inconvenient. Also, on the topic of inconvenient, I can't fly to four cities in the Lauren league. Mad weird, yo.]

EDIT: Never mind. It would be in the one town with a plane.

I was hoping you'd reply by PM, but this works too. :) It saves waiting for me to get there first to experiment. I just have to remember to back up my save file itself and the first save state in case I accidentally screw up and overwrite my save state. :)

EDIT: I realize now why you did it this way: to add the attachment. I believe it's not possible to do that via PM, so consider the file picked up. I'll post anew once I have some research (if no new posts, I'll delete this and edit). Since Dive isn't picked up yet, now I know I have to back up the first (and maybe second) save states with my save file, or I might end up losing my game where I left off. Hopefully I don't run into too many storyline spoilers here (though I really don't mind). :) I'll start researching in the morning as it's late here now and I know I'll screw up now otherwise.

My Light Platinum ROM finally worked. =) I patched the IPS file to my Ruby and it didn't work, but then patched it to the Light Platinum file I had before that didn't work and now the file works. I ruined my Ruby ROM though.

I hope this hack is completed. Is there any way around the portugeuse?

ℨᶾanana November 28th, 2012 2:32 AM

lol Just Download the Full Version ... or Downoad The Full ROM -.-

Chelseaplaya November 28th, 2012 2:45 AM

I used the IPS on the first page.

Cyclone November 28th, 2012 9:00 AM

There's an English IPS on the first page.

Also, just started my test, but noticed this file doesn't have Drakebreath Gym defeated yet (in fact the city still has to be visited). I get the feeling I'll be forced to do that before I can complete my test.

EDIT: And now I've temporarily abandoned the test. However, I've taken the opportunity to finish my Imatari Islands map; technically, I would have made it one of my first stops after finishing the Serenity Gym, so this saves me a trip since I don't believe there are any items here. However, I do note the following screenshot:

Now, take a look at the map bordered as in AdvanceMap:

The thing I want to point out is the top of the area. Look at the screenshot. Notice all the rocks up top? These are outside the map border, and I'm sure you can place (without help) exactly where on the spoilered map I was sitting when I took that screenshot. There is a second map up here that is reached somehow. I haven't been to this map yet, and haven't even fixed the water and rock areas (which I can do without visiting the map), so here is the pure raw data:

Notice the Dive patch? Also, where I'm sitting is what appears to be the "entrance" to that area from the south, but it's in fact blocked by rocks! Also of note is the wild Pokémon data here; Rufflet and Tentacool which accommodate 90% of the Pokémon to the south completely disappear and the only things found are Wailmer and Carvanha (the latter being 90%), but you can fish in the northern segment for Corphish and Krabby provided you have a Super Rod.

I'm going to run a second test to figure out where this comes from because the warp isn't evident in AdvanceMap for diving. If this area IS in fact inaccessible, I'll look for a matching map and see if we can create the connection. With that said, I might still need Drakebreath to be able to use Dive in any case, so if that's true someone please confirm and I'll use the Lv.50ish Pokés here to bum-rush that Gym (and the Steam HQ, guess I am getting some storyline in here) in a hurry so I can run both tests. Until I run the test, my copy of the ROM will maintain a mirage rock on Route 409 (though I did cut two save states and my actual save with the ROM to a backup folder, so in case I forget something I can just replace this in the AM folder).

I am also noticing why I take so long to play. I am working on leveling up a lot of Pokémon in order to provide effective walkthrough strategies. As a result, I am taking a long time just doing that whereas others use overleveled Pokémon. This save is at 15 hours, many hours faster than I've been and it's done seven badges. However, this player has not yet evolved Riolu, while I have a Lucario at the same level that I plan to get a little higher to become my Fighting component.

Did I mention there's a spot somewhere to dive underwater seeking Kyogre? I've already stumbled upon this map in AdvanceMap some time ago, but don't know the connection and presume it's in Lauren region. (UPDATED BELOW)

Cyclone

Chelseaplaya November 28th, 2012 10:50 AM

Sorry I was reading the first text when I posted. When they asked me those questions it was both English and Portuguese, but I see therafter its just English.

Cyclone November 28th, 2012 11:37 AM

Decided to play on from this save file just in case Diving was unlocked by the final Gym. Determined it unlocks the Waterfall ability. Not bad for intentionally doing a complete crapshoot. Is Giratina supposed to be so easy to catch, however? It took one Ultra Ball!

So...since I now know that Dive isn't working in those patches at the east end of Seanport City, I can conduct my second test at the Imatari Islands. It also gives me an opportunity to do something there to put all Water starters in the wild. What were these rumours of Lake Myang? There might be one after all, but I still haven't confirmed it. :)

Also, might have to do my full mapping of Victory Road now. I always wanted to get the mapping out of the way before the playing and guide writing; this is a perfect opportunity to do so.

EDIT: Experiment 2 completed. While the first test didn't result in any of three Dive spots being usable (as expected), I did make my way to the northern Imatari Islands by turning another pair of rocks into mirages and made my way to the Dive spot there. Upon submerging, I found myself in a map that I seem to recall led to Kyogre. Of course, it's not there yet (even with eight badges obtained). Must be a post-E4 thing, so I guess the rocks vanish at the same time or some event in Lauren is triggered first (and the rocks then destroyed). Or something. I'm contemplating somehow adding Lake Myang; how remains to be seen.

That's not good since I'm working at removing incorrect walking flags and such from my copy, which will later be sent to another party to make more fixes and script changes/additions. Plus I'm thinking of adding starters you didn't choose in new areas.

yea the grammar is ok but there are alot of annoying little inconveniences. there is one spot in Flamerny Town in Lauren and when you save your game in the town a guy appears in front of Mt. Vulcan. This glitch will stop your progress permanently, so DO NOT SAVE IN FLAMERNY TOWN! i had to load the rom into advancemap and remove the guy from in front of the entrance to mt vulcan before i could proceed, after running around for 45 minutes thinking i missed something. Also at any time while in Lauren, you can go pick a different starter from prof. ellie and re battle you rivals in that region, you can also rebattle the t. steam leader in the sky tower.......... do not know how many times you can re battle but ive done it 3 times so far and i have all 3 starters that she offers. i have also fought prof. ellie 8 times in flamerny town, after discovering the game ending "guy" glitch. this is a good game but with some tweaking it has the potential to be an amazing game.

where is the rock slide tm?

Uh...XD

I am a Fire starter user. Though yes, statistically, even in Black it paled to others come time for the E4. (Even though it was part Fighting type, which is why I chose it.)

In this game, because you choose your starter from the first gen. and get others as you go, I will probably select based on my party weaknesses; I have enough Fire with Growlithe now. I don't have a lot of good Grass choices, and my Water starter (Mudkip) is part-Ground (which makes it super awesome against Electric types). Thus, I am debating going with Grass for at least one selection of the remaining two.

Swampert is the most diverse starter in the game. Teach him Earthquake, surf, ice beam, and a normal type move and hes pretty much unstoppable....... but give him 5 Calcium to be sure, it raises his sp. atk. instead of grass type, i either raise pikachu and evolve him or i wait until i can catch snover/abomasnow..........

**UPDATE** i just caught Mew and Mewtwo........... the latter didnt even know Psychic!! I have defeated the Lauren league and im on the legendary hunt, time to level mewtwo up for the World Championship

Chelseaplaya November 29th, 2012 1:10 PM

Swampert's been my favorite since I started playing a few months ago. I hardly knew anything about the game and played Emerald. The only pokémon I trained was my Swampert and I beat the e4 with him and Rayquaza. Back to topic. I started the hack and chose Charmander as my starter. I also caught Feebas with that first Ultra Ball I received. I like how they're the only balls available(from what I've seen anyway). I really didn't expect getting options from other region starters as well so I tried to start a team with the male and female Nido ,which I really loved on Leaf Green till I lost my save file and the Growlithe. If I'd known from the start my team would probably be:

Bulbasaur(I chose Charmander)
Cyndaquill(I chose Totodile)
Mudkip(I chose Treeko )

I don't know the Zhery Region(I think that's what its called) that well so the rest of my team would probably include the male Nido,Gardevoir/Gallade(If possible) and maybe Milotic depending on how early in the game I could evolve Feebas. If exp. Share is given to me early in the game I'd train my Magickarp instead though. I've beaten the first gym ,but I'm probably gonna start over, but this will only be when I have time and exams are done.

you can evolve Feebas as soon as you get it using the water stone that is also on the beach........ there are several "gift" pokemon that you receive throughout the game, the 2 best being Riolu and Dratini......... Riolu does not evolve through friendship in this game, only at lv. 35

THAT explains why it took me so long...but then, it is a Sinnoh entry, so it doesn't surprise me that it works differently.

if you just beat the WC, then your game is over. You can finish your pokedex if you'd like. There is no Kanto or Johto in this hack.

Is Gardevoir/Gallade(Ralts) available in the game?

It OK to play a hardcore version like LP coz it has many cool features and playing a hardcore mode of it like old Shiny GOLD X makes it double appealing more

Wrong. All three in its original evolution line are available. Gallade, however, I don't think is there.

I remember an in-game trade using a Ralts, and it's in National Park (also in Route 410 higher-leveled).

Cyclone

I also used Emboar in BW and B2W2 but scrapped him as soon as Volcarona was available.
It's the worst fire starter and that's for sure ;)
But that doesn't matter, I don't get why people use it when they can have Charizard here... :/

That was most likely the old LP which had Sinnoh and part of Johto.

XeroNos November 30th, 2012 11:18 PM

Yup what Ash493 says is correct. Charizard is the best fire type starter there is who also learns cool moves like Flamethrower, Fire Blast in some hacks etc.

The TM is associated with a badge in Lauren. Try winning one and see if that changes everything?

Wow i havent been on pokecommunity since the middle of August.Anyway, three things.
1.Elitepokes.Look,the white screen problem happens.A lot.Seriously.Ash,Snake and Alien have explained the problem a thousand times.Just go on the first page here.Wesley has a solution.
2.Cyclone,if you transfer that Nincada back into Emerald, well,we can talk.
3.A question for Ash,Snake and Alienhunter. As my logics say,you cant have every Pokemon in this game.I have finished everything, except the World Championship. So,you cant have everything because of the starters given to you, well you can just choose one.

Special thanks to Ash493(I think i missed the number even though I have seen him a million times),Snakebyte and alienhunterx.Ultimate Thanks to Wesley FG for this hack.

Sorry for the long post!

I did all that, clicked the rocks and deleted the event and then saw that the permissions were already set to C, so I saved it closed AM, reloaded my game and the rocks were still there.

@ElitePokes: White Screen bug is not something that can be fixed with hacking.
White screen happens because of bad patching or bad setting of emulator.
@Mathula: Well... you got it right xD Maybe I should change it after the name changing will be available again xD
But on topic... you probably missed it, but the starters will be dealt with =)
We are planning to add sanctuary for the starters where all available starters will be present =)
If I'll really work hard, I might even do it that you cannot obtain the starter you already have xD

sharathbhat December 9th, 2012 8:10 AM

Yeah it would be awesome. Also, can someone(not me,please)make a light platinum pokedex. But not a regular one.A pokedex with data like where to find it,how common it is,How many males and females, that stuff.I'm too lazy to do it.

SonicBlazePlatinum December 9th, 2012 1:28 PM

Pokemon Light Platinum X will be on hold until 2013 or 2014, and when it comes out will be a surprise so people don't rush for a release. Most of the trainers in game will have one or two Pokemon in Zhery and 3 Pokemon in Lauren like in Black 2 and White 2, but rivals like Red and Ethan and Steam Admins like Shirley will use four Pokemon. Gym Leaders, Elite Four, and Champion use six Pokemon along with all the PWC/Pokemon World Championship trainers such as Ash. There also will be double battles most likely. Right now I'm still coming up with ideas for what the harder version will be like.

When I get around to it, that's something I fully intend to work on. Right now I'm looking for the last few Pokémon to complete my OFFICIAL National Dex on Black; I haven't been updating my sig., but it's at something like 641 now. All breeding done, a few to level up, a few types to get into place, and then add Suicine and Meloetta to complete. Then I'll likely be back at this game outside of some playing of SoulSilver or White 2.

My "easy money" came from keeping my Bibarel with me, and it eventually picked up a whole bunch of Nuggets. I'm rich now and hope to eventually get more Nuggets as time goes on.

Gold011 December 10th, 2012 3:25 PM

hey, i've been following this hack, but there are things that bothered me about it, first, pokemon without it's original cries (ex: shinx sounds like a weddle), well, that's easy to fix, but it takes time, second, music, it still haves the hoenn trainer battle theme, whoever i battle, the regular trainer theme plays, and my first impression when i was about to battle the first gym leader is like:

me: good, let's take a break from regular music by fighting a gym leader
*regular trainer theme plays even thought i'm battling a gym leader*
me: FUUUUUUUUUU**!!!!

well, i'd like to see at least new music for this, or at least being able to put in the hoenn gym leader theme when fighting one, and that also goes for e4 (i saw a walkthrough and elite 4 and champion still haves the regular trainer theme)

Hey 2 quick questions

1) What's a Sunflora lake???

2) What's a better sixth slot for my team: Dusknoir (training it from a duskull) or ??? (any other poke)

My Team is
Charizard lvl 43 (A full on Striker)
Piloswine lvl 44 (trying to get it to evolve to a Mamoswine)
Snorlax lvl 38 (He's basically a wall for toxic and revive :D)
Scizor lvl 42 (With Sword Dance, he's a full on Attacker)
Lapras lvl 35 (It can take hits and Perish Song is one of my fav moves)

...and I'm currently on my way to the fifth gym :D
