What Hex Editor do you use?

So, I made this thread to see what hex editors you all use... And to see how many people don't use them. :P

I use Hex Workshop. ^^

Post/vote. FTW!!!!!!

Hex Workshop.

I've never used anything else so I can't really say its better than any other Hex Editor but it hasn't caused any problems yet.

thethethethe October 27th, 2008 12:12 AM

I got a few. Just depends.
Usually Hex workshop because it's easy. Right Click the file and then just click Hex edit with Hex workshop.
But I also like Windhex. That one's good too. Supports tables.

Hat? October 27th, 2008 2:59 AM

I've only ever really used WindHex, even since before hacking Pokemon.
I don't think it has as many tools as Hex Workshop but I'm quite used to all the shortcuts and features it does have and like thethethethe said it has table support, which is good for the stuff I do.

hi sir tomato my password is syvniti October 27th, 2008 3:59 AM

hex.. editor? what's that?

Argent Crusader October 27th, 2008 4:29 AM

I use Thingy 32 for easy table management. Like for text edits and so.
For others the great Hex Workshop!
Also lately I've been using Translhextion for edit some DP text. It's good because it can hande 2-bytes-per-character tables.

Eon-Rider October 27th, 2008 4:30 AM

I use the portable version of HxD. It's great to use since I hardly ever do hex editing.

pichu2000 October 27th, 2008 4:44 AM

I use crystal tile's incorporate hex viewer.

WindBlows October 27th, 2008 5:22 AM

In my opinion the best hex editor is XVI32.

-DarK- October 27th, 2008 5:27 AM

I got 3 editors on my comp (Hex Workshop, Thingy32 and Hexecute) but I use Hex Workshop most of all

maoh4567 October 27th, 2008 5:28 AM

I use Hex Workshop because for me, its easy to use.

Hiche.. October 27th, 2008 5:31 AM

Hex Workshop. It's easy to use for me, and I am used to it.

~Red October 27th, 2008 5:54 AM

XVI32.

Best HEX editor there is (that's free). The only reason hardly anybody uses it is because it is a general HEX editor and not just used for ROM hacks ;)

Prof. 9 October 27th, 2008 11:06 AM

Hexecute.

Guess I should download a better one.

I kind of hate hexecute. It's useful because of it's copy and paste function which is great if you want to copy a large slab of data for repointing and then adding to it, but it crashes quite often.

Zeikku™ October 27th, 2008 12:47 PM

I use XVI32, just used to it, and it's free XD

Virtual Chatot October 27th, 2008 12:50 PM

KhaosKnight October 27th, 2008 1:02 PM

gamefreakfatty October 27th, 2008 1:36 PM

I use 010 Editor. It's just what I'm used to.

X-aveon October 27th, 2008 1:38 PM

Cygnus. Am i like the only one that uses it?
It's free, and the best!

Easily displayed, and easy to understand and use.

TB Pro October 27th, 2008 2:21 PM

XVI32.

Free. Works great. No Crashes. Has mostly anthing you'll ever need.

Tony the Awesome October 27th, 2008 2:29 PM

I, Tony, use, HxD. It's the best :D(in my/your opinion)

SCV October 27th, 2008 2:29 PM

HxD. Have never needed any other hex editor.

foullump October 27th, 2008 2:37 PM

I used to use Hex workshop, but then I tried Ultraedit32, and now I can never go back! xD
