maxx unlimited November 1st, 2008 6:07 PM

Its ok, I mean it levels up fast and has ok stats...

Artemis November 1st, 2008 6:11 PM

Treecko is wicked awesome...and I'm glad Ash got one in the anime...

True Reign November 1st, 2008 6:22 PM

Whats up with you making all these threads today?

Anyways, I love Treeko. He's my favorite starter of all time and can beat all the gym leaders if used correctly.

Ninja Caterpie November 1st, 2008 6:43 PM

My favourite Pokemon is Sceptile. Enough said?

KadabraK November 1st, 2008 7:37 PM

It's pretty fast, and is strong. I like it.

Isn't that considered Spam?

Ash&pikachuarethebest November 2nd, 2008 6:07 AM

Considering with every new Pokemon game i start off with the grass type starter, Treeko is the worst sceptile is great but treeko and grovyle are awful i hate there sprites and don't learn anything gd till level 29/30 when it learns Leaf Blade.

The Instant Classic November 2nd, 2008 7:36 AM

For me treeko is good grovile is brilliant and sceptile is for me is well in between rubbish and ok.....yeah id never let my grovile evolve into sceptile.

shanecdavis November 2nd, 2008 11:52 AM

Treecko is the second best starter in the game, behind Mudkip.

Xaviar November 2nd, 2008 11:57 AM

I tend to pick the grass starters whenever I start a new game, and I've never picked a starter besides Treecko on my Ruby version. So, yeah, he rules. :p

Vernikova November 2nd, 2008 12:02 PM

It's an alright pokémon with alright stats. But it's overrated by some of its fans.

Vuallum November 2nd, 2008 12:02 PM

I think Treecko is not exactly the kind of poke that can walk the game along, you need some more to help him or know when to delete moves and learn new ones to beat specific gyms.

Xaviar November 2nd, 2008 12:05 PM

That's what I like about Treecko. I generally don't let one Pokemon hog the experience, and by the time my starter is level 20, I want my whole party of 3-4 to be at level 20 with it.

My friend was noob enough to try and walk the game with a treecko, he failed horribly because he had 5 hm slaves, and still had HMs on his sceptile at the elite four, twas ruby so he got roflpwnd by Steven. I told him to do it with a blaziken :P

He didn't get owned by Glacia?

SkyPioneer November 2nd, 2008 11:29 PM

It's fast and very powerful in terms of special attack, but it lacks a good moveset. Sceptile could have been an amazing sweeper if it had a decent moveset. Why was Leaf Blade physical?

Dragonair_Blizzard November 2nd, 2008 11:45 PM

I don't like Treeko so much, since it is the only one without a duel type in Heonn and Grass types have alot of weakness. It is fast but doesn't have many grass type attacks though it is a grass type and I don't tend to like its moveset.

Azzurra November 3rd, 2008 12:49 AM

Treeko seems to be quite a good Pokemon, but it is far outranked by it's evolutions, and it can become overrated, due to it being overused in the anime.

quad29 November 3rd, 2008 2:06 AM

i never really likd grass starter pokemon that much. Treeckos not the best but hes not the worst either. Hes pretty average

Actually it does have a great moveset, but you can only achieve in Emerald, long after you have beaten the game:

Sceptile @ Leftovers
Trait: Overgrow
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Leaf Blade
- Leech Seed
- Substitute
- Thunderpunch

This set makes it slightly better than Venusaur as the best Grass Pokemon in the game. The premise of the set is simple. Seed first to force a switch, and then Sub on that switch. If the switch is a Fire-type, which it typically is if your opponent is unaware of good movesets, Punch for normal damage. If it is a special wall, Seed it, and then outstall it. Keep in mind that Seed + Lefties replace 3 out of 4/16 HP loss that Sub takes each turn.

BTW - Leaf Blade is not a physical move. You are thinking of DPP.

FairyGarland November 3rd, 2008 1:28 PM

I think Treecko's a pretty good choice although if you choose it then the Elite 4 are slightly trickier than with the othe r2. Leaf blade is perhaps the best grass attack ever.

4768fitz November 3rd, 2008 1:30 PM

i'm not a great fan of any of the grass starter pokemon, treeko is a bit ugly, but it has good evloutions so not that bad

yuki3056 November 5th, 2008 3:55 PM

I am a huge grass type fan but treecko is ok for me i am not the fan of it i am of torchic, torchic is an amazing pokemon with a decent move pool, back to treecko i find myself starting with it and having to get other pokemon balanced with it to make it through the game because it isnt a one mon team pokemon like blazeiken or even a good swampert is
